I ordered the spicy tenders and they either got the order wrong or they make the blandest spicy tenders I’ve ever had. They have quite a selection of sides here but they don’t have them all on the menu so you have use psychic powers to determine what they have or observe and see what all is being served as you wait in line. I find Popeye’s to be better in nearly all respects so that might explain why this is my first visit to a Church’s since the 70’s.

Place is always filthy and they NEVER have any sauces or ketchup. Seriously now they need to step it up. Food is ok

I am a fan. All day every day. I am sure I should not eat it very often but when I can, it is always satisfying. This location is open pretty late. It is walk in only and you talk through a glass. The chicken trifecta — hot, tasty and cheap. While this is a chain and one would think it is the same all around the world, there are some differences. This place is one of the better locations.

Listen to me, fellow New Orleanians: CHURCH’S CHICKENISBETTERTHANPOPEYES. Better breading, better flavor, better sides(seriously, how can you not love Church’s butter biscuits over the stale ones you normally get at Popeyes), better prices. OK, I get it, state pride and whatnot. Louisianans like to eat at a «Louisiana Kitchen», you grew up eating it, etc. Just try to put these inherent biases aside and take that first step: 1) Walk into a Church’s, preferably this one on Claiborne as everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful, even helping you find the best deals for your money. 2) Order a ten piece meal to share with your friends, including juicier chicken, delicious biscuits(seriously, you could eat these everyday and never get tired of them), superior red beans and rice, and tastier coleslaw. 3) Pay less money. 4) Eat. 5) Be happy. You’ll know what I mean. Trust me.
