Just wanted to add that they make their own King cake, which is gorgeous and delicious.

Cute coffee house with a family atmosphere located in a quaint house on magazine street. Great place to study or read. The coffee and pastries were great but not the largest selection.

The owner’s brother works for a major airline and he really took care of me at Reagan National Airport enroute to NOLA. He told me about his brother’s place in uptown and I had to visit. Great little coffee shop. Quiet and just the right atmosphere and the Java is great.

After a run at nearby Audubon park, my boyfriend and I were in search of more coffee. We looked in the area for some well rated places and swung by here, only to see that they had a Unilocal deal — a free espresso drink with check in. Done. Easy way to get me to check this place out. Luna is located on the corner of Magazine and Nashville in a cute little house. It’s a little rough around the edges if you look closely, but overall has some charm. We waited in line briefly while the barista helped someone else out in front of us. The place wasn’t very busy when we first arrived, but the line started piling up soon thereafter. The gal working was visibly stressed about it, but did her best to work through it. I don’t know if it was an abnormal time for a rush, but it just appeared they were understaffed. It didn’t help that their card system required her to manually enter in all of the card numbers, expiration, and security code. No swipe, no easy payment method to help blow through the line forming. Somebody hook these people up with a square account, ASAP. We cashed in our drinks, with my man ordering an iced americano(so unbelievably watery) while I took a cappuccino. He asked for his to-go, but she still proceeded to make mine in a regular cup. That’s fine, I thought, it’s not very big so I’ll drink it and we can be on our way. So weak. With the small cup size I figured the drink would be fairly strong — I don’t know how many shots of espresso were pulled for it, but it hardly tasted of coffee. Kind of a bummer since the place has such a stellar location. Maybe their drip coffee is way better or they rock a pour over? Who knows. I was certainly glad we didn’t pay for either of our beverages, and I never regret getting coffee.

I ordered the mocha which was okay. What I like best about this place was the building itself. A old classic home turned into a café is a great idea. A better experience then just stepping into your local coffee shop.

We ordered the breakfast sandwich with tater tots and the Audubon bagel with Mexican Cokes. Both dishes were tasty and food came out in a decent amount of time. Will return!

This place is perfection! Greg, the owner, is very inviting and actually remembers the names of many of the regulars. He has a back room that is quiet enough for studying and a front room and front porch perfect for chatting and lounging with friends and family! The coffee experience is like no other in the city! Alex and Greg have both given me advice and taught me how to improve my own at-home brew bc that’s how wonderful they are! They have a load of unique and unusual ways to get you your dose of caffeine and an unexpectedly delicious food menu! I had to move a couple of months ago and the most disappointing part was that I’m further from Luna! If you’re thinking about trying it out, JUSTWALKONIN! Café Luna will treat you right!

Cute, friendly coffee shop. Tried the New Orleans styled bagels that had the texture of a croissant and shape of the bagel. Great Unilocal deal and the ice tea flavors are super flavorful. Nicest staff too :)

It’s the classic kind of place managed by hipsters that went twice to a Starbucks and think they know about coffee. Depending of the barista you can get different things at different prices after ordering the same. Specially awful the bearded man, run away from the bearded man. If the bearded man it’s there go to any other place.

beautiful place, with an extremely welcoming feel! the drinks are literally hand crafted by the ultra cool owner, Greg, & everything was fresh & made to order. I had an iced latte & the very last blueberry muffin, both of which had the authentic tastes I look for in stand-alone coffee shops. my friends ordered gourmet bagel dishes, which both completely enjoyed and raved about. Come earlier in the day for a wider selection of pastries. Absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere & of course the prices. Would totally revisit again with friends, or a loved one or even just a very good book!

Thanks to Groupon, we discovered this little gem a couple of weeks ago and have returned multiple times. An old house-turned coffee shop, Café Luna offers endless charm and comfort from its garden patio to its welcoming front porch to its cheerful, light-filled interior. They retained many of the home’s original architectural elements, which is a nice touch. Need to get some school work done? They have free wi-fi! Taking the kids out to eat? They have loads of board games! The food is fantastic. Handmade bagels smothered in cream cheese overflowing with salmon, avocado, and capers. They have an assortment of muffins, cookies, and other pastries as well, though I find them a bit salty for my taste. I do recommend the red bean muffin, though. Don’t let the odd ingredient throw you off! Café Luna is very easy to find near the end of Magazine Street by Audubon with plenty of street parking and dog friendly to boot. Be sure to get an iced coffee on your way out to beat this crazy summer heat!

The barista was so nice! My cousin took me here for the first time. She told me if we checked in through Unilocal you get a free espresso. I picked an iced mocha espresso and it was really good! I was very surprised for a small little coffee shop. The place looks like a house which gets some cute points! Also they had board games and other games to entertain the customers. I love how homie it felt while drinking coffee. I would definitely recommend going here again!

This spot has changed ownership since I went there over two years ago. I hadn’t been impressed with their coffee at the time but really like their cold brew now. While I can’t speak for the 7am start time, I love that they are open to midnight. I can’t think of another coffee shop that goes that late. Employee Adam was really friendly, explaining to me the different coffee options they offer without any hipster pretense I’ve experienced at Mojo’s. Coffee is a crazy addictive drug and I’m glad to have found my new dealers.

MIDAFTERNOONCOFFEBREAK Sipping on coffee and a cold beverage under the shade of the front porch and big oak tree is everything therapeutically relaxing. Besides the complimentary wi-fi, there’s a Unilocal special when you check in. Watching the neurotic drivers impatiently strong arming the traffic at the intersections of Magazine and Nashville Avenue is the free entertainment of the afternoon.

The owner of this place prioritizes making good coffee. Period. Small breakfast and lunch sandwich-style menus, and made-on-location pastery. Cozy interior and spacious porch that is good for automobile ballet performances at the intersection of Magazine and Nashville. Porch can be noisy with delivery trucks and auto sound sytems cruising by. Mostly a local crowd, vocal and stylish. Many young families enjoy the selection and tolerance for kids and pets. Best coffee in the city, as owner was a former roaster and consultant to other coffee shops in town. Staff is eclectic and quirky, but in an interesting way. Treat yourself to a coffee shop not patterned after mass-market research. Solid, fast, dependable WiFi attracts students.

Located on the corner of Magazine St and Nashville Av is a cute little home converted into café. Offering a wide range of hot beverages to different kinds of bagels, perfect for a morning stop. As every purchases comes with free wifi, it’s a brilliant place to bring your work and work away either on the balcony overlooking Magazine St or within the café without any exterior distractions. The only downfall is the few chai lattes I have had there felt a bit. watered down.
