Fun place with great coffee. I would have loved to try the beignets but can’t eat them so will have to take my boyfriend’s word that they were outstanding. I enjoyed my coffee and the ambience so it was time well spent.

Had to stop by the one in the mall due to not having enough time to go to another one. Was very well pleased, absolutely delicious & perfect sweet treat in the middle of the afternoon. Was not swamped busy like we have heard about the other location. Right in the river with beautiful views!!!

I came here because I was leaving NOLA and wanted to bid goodbye to my fav southern dessert. The good thing about this place is that it is a lot less crowded than the original and there is AC! While waiting in the line, you can watch the beignet making process which is very cool. It is very easy to find a seat. Our beignets and Café Au Liat were delicious per usual. I will definitely be returning.

Fluffy, sweet(but not overly sweet) pillows of deliciousness. Yum. You must stop here, and have plenty of napkins handy. Skip the coffee though, it tasted like water. Next time I would bring my Starbucks coffee with me. That combo would be perfection. :)

If visiting New Orleans, or being a local, Café du Monde is your infamous beignets and coffee stop. It’s open late & caters to people of all age groups, families, and big or small groups. They absolutely have the best beignets and coffee in town! Excellent service & delicious white powdered sugar galore. Café du Monde is a must have & you will always come back for more!

Firstly, beignets are the best invention, ever. So much amazingness in one bite! Dough is deep fried into a puff, then topped with a tonnn of powdered sugar! My first visit, I ordered a frozen mocha as well as beignets. The mocha was delicious! Very sweet and had strong coffee as well. All my friends wanted to get one, but they ordered something else already. Two days later(yes, we had to come back), we came back for more! Beignets were amazing, of course, but unfortunately, all the frozen drink machines were broken :(we ended up getting an iced mocha, but it was way more bitter than the frozen mocha. We started to put sugar in it, but it just all ended up in the bottom and not melting. Then, we put in the remaining powdered sugar from the beignets into the drink, which melted much more easily. The caffeine was so strong that my husband was worried he couldn’t sleep at night!(We got the drink at around 1pm). We also bought two cans of the French roast, because it’s much cheaper here vs other vendors. Also, the line at this location is WAY shorter and faster than the French Quarter location. There aren’t servers, but you still get the same awesome food, and wait less!

Café Du Monde beignets are amazing. That much goes without saying. Pros: This location is smaller and cleaner and not super busy like the original. They also accept card. Probably the best part of this location is that you can enjoy your beignets with a view of the river and the bridge. Cons: We got beignets that had been sitting out for a while, which is a shame because their beignets are even more amazing when hot and fresh out of the fryer. Maybe it was a one time thing so I’ll let that slide. Overall, you can’t really go wrong with Café du Monde beignets, regardless of which location you go to. Beignets are beignets.

Beignets and coffee/milk/orange juice, what could be better! It ended up being our dinner, so a tasty and unhealthy dinner, but what the heck that’s what vacation is for. Surprisingly it was easy to get a group of tables for 10 people. Quick order, and not a long wait for the food to come. Surprisingly small pint of TruMoo chocolate milk. Was expecting the real thing, real milk and that was the only disappointing part of the meal. Beignets are the bomb and there is nowhere outside of Café Du Monde that knows how to make the properly. Love, love, love coming down here for these crispy fried moist flavorful dough with powdered sugar. Don’t miss this place or one of the other locations in town when you come to New Orleans!

Beignets are yummy and worth the wait. The lines moves pretty fast. I’m not a coffee drinker, but my friend said the coffee was really good too! A definite landmark to Louisiana.

So good. Here are my 2 cents – (1) If it’s not obvious, this location is IN the food court of the mall. (2) Don’t wear silk(or any other delicate fabric). The sugar WILL get on your clothes! Enjoy!

Come here for the famous Beignets and chickaree coffee if you don’t want to wait in line at the original or are nearby. I was attending a conference at the convention center next door and a local gave me a hot tip to come here to the Riverewalk Shopping center rather than shlep to the French market. Great tip! There was no line, just as good as the original location, and I got to sit outside on the deck and have great views of the river. 3 beignets and a bag of powder sugar for $ 2.73 and $ 2.73 for the famous café au lait. I don’t normally drink coffee but«when in Rome…» Beignets were warm and gooey and delicious and covered in sugar. My nice black pants turned white and my face looked like a clown and I just didn’t care. Be warned though it’s a long walk to the café from the entrance next to the convention center. But hey gotta burn those calories so you can eat more, right?

I guess this place cannot be missed when visiting New Orleans. Beignet are nice to try but I really don’t get too excited about Café du Monde. It is always crowded and the fact that it is open 24⁄7 feels like they don’t take time to clean it up. It is really dirty. Also people buy and eat so much food that I find it gross to watch. You cannot buy a single piece of beignet, they always come with minimum 3 which is way too much I think. It is also big and noisy, I really didn’t enjoy sitting there. It really is an industry and there is no charm at all. Prices are expensive for what it really is. What my favourite option was was to take beignets and juice away for breakfast and eat them along the Mississippi River.

Before hitting up the Original, I decided to go to one of the other locations to avoid the long wait. The one at the Riverwalk Marketplace isn’t open 24⁄7 like the Original but there’s(almost) no wait. It’s inside the mall with a view of the Mississippi River and that means indoor seating. You order/pickup at the counter and return your tray at the window. The BEIGNETS were so good, but an order of three is a lot for one person. I think they’re best eaten hot and with a friend. The CAFÉAULAIT(half coffee and half hot milk) was a perfect companion. The location was clean and quiet, at least when I came first thing in the morning.

Because this is in the Riverwalk shops — if you are staying at the adjoining Hilton or working /attending anything at Morial — it is hard not to stop in for the the famous beignet and coffee. It is always a very nice high caloric treat and as much as you may love it — you like me will be glad you have to get on a plane to enjoy. If it were closer to home I might be required to purchase 2 seats.

This isn’t the original Café du Monde — it isn’t open 24 hours — but at least they accept credit cards! When we went on a Saturday morning, there was no wait thankfully. Also, we got our beignets and coffees quite quickly and were able to find a table without any problems. Every thing was as good as the original — except 1 beignet each. My mom ate one beignet, delicious. The second one? Meh. Like it’s been sitting for a bit. Third one? Great again. Me: Great, Great, Meh. Odd. But still quite good and it’s nice that you have a nice view of the river. The staff is friendly. Also, seating is indoors so it’s weather controlled unlike the original one. Also, it’s less busy so it’s not as crazy. And again … credit cards. It’s nice that they accept them. If they get their beignets up to speed, then they’re all set! But 2⁄3 isn’t bad! I still loved eating them!

Beignet and coffee cost less than $ 7 in a major tourist area doesn’t get any better. It’s probably the only place we enjoyed in the quarter including the Frenchmen. We were here at night and during the day. At night, there’s no line around 10ish but we got here at 11pm. You just sit down and were served. Funny part is you have to pay the waiter when they come back with whatever you ordered. Kinda weird but it saves time. During the day, the line is LONG and not really worth it. But I think you can just sit down and order anything you want for stay or to go. Spend your time wisely and get out of french quarter. Beignet is really good coming from someone who doesn’t like donuts and sugary stuff. Their coffee is strong and put Starbucks to shame. I would suggest you buy their coffee in the can across the street at their general shop.

Came here on a Wednesday late afternoon with my cousin who was in town for a conference. The place was pretty quiet considering it was in the Riverwalk Mall and around dinner/dessert time. But this only means more seating options, like near the window to see the river. Staff were hospitable and attentive. We both ordered café au lait and shared a serving of beignets(3). It was moderately priced(around $ 10) for a café in a downtown district and near the convention center. But what really made this great was the hot from the fryer beignets! Caked in powdered sugar ready to get messy we devoured all three within minutes, scalding our fingers enjoying every steamy bite! The beignets at this place are seriously dirty, meaning you’ll look like you intentionally threw white powder all over yourself. Nothing that a few dabs of water couldn’t fix. The four-star rating is cause for two reasons: 1. No bathroom — every café I’ve been too no matter how small has one, 2. Location — although its in the mall and you’d think that’s a convenient spot its a challenge to get there and get out or back to Convention Blvd. Although I haven’t been to the original Café Du Monde, this one was superb!

It’s a classic joint! There’s always a line, hectic and can be a little messy but it’s all worth it. The beignets are delicious but my favorite is their frappé coffee!

I will dare to argue that this location in the mall serves better beignets than the original. When I first walked by I thought to myself«Oh great. a mall version, this can’t be good.» During my visit I ate at both locations TWICE to compare for myself. Outlets at the Riverfront: THEBEIGNETSARESODELICIOUS. They maintain their square shape, are crunchy on the outside and light/airy on the inside. With only one fryer, small batches are made which allows for better quality control. The oil(cottonseed) and powdered sugar taste fresh. The location is clean and doesn’t smell. Original: The only advantage is location and history. If you visit NOLA, you have to visit the original. However you may be disappointed. It’s usually a longer wait, and the finished product tastes old and doughy. Many of my beignets were deformed and lost their light and crunchy texture. The beignets have to be mass produced ASAP to feed the huge crowds and I believe the quality suffers big time. And for whatever reason, it smelled terrible during both visits. Visit the original to visit the original. But if you want to enjoy your beignet, visit the mall location. Another perk, the mall location accepts CREDITCARDS! The original only accepts cash.

Three beignets you’ll never finish on your own cost ~$ 2.40. You don’t want to throw them away but you can’t finish them. There is a pile of sugar and you feel like like a little kid eating and spilling everywhere. It’s even worse when there are people in line watching you spill at the table even though you know it’s going to happen to them soon. The frozen café au lait ~$ 4.56 and is probably the best frozen coffee I’ve ever had. It comes from a machine and basically puts a Starbucks frappuchino to shame. The view is fantastic. Stay for the scenery!
