This place is a luxury on Bourbon Street. Visited it twice on our trip. Nice black leather sectional couch to the left of the beautiful bar. Great nice young group of gentlemen playing jazz in the corner. Cleanest bathrooms on B Street too, it’s attached to the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. My fav was the Pimm’s cup made by bartender Erick!

This is the bar in the Bourbon Orleans hotel. Well crafted cocktails and friendly bartenders. We ducked in here one rainy afternoon in New Orleans and were glad to spend an hour with some good drinks. Unfortunately the kitchen was under renovation at the time so we couldn’t try the food. They also have a little stage across from the bar where they have live music in the evenings. Overall a classier joint on the sometimes fratty Bourbon street.

If you’re looking for a change of pace from the rowdy, rachet scene of New Orleans, Bourbon O Bar is a cooler, classier choice. This is a great place to get speciality craft cocktails while kicking back and enjoying some live jazz. I got the midas cup, which was so delicious. I don’t always like the choices of drinks at craft cocktail bars as they’re either too strong or aren’t sweet enough. Luckily, the Midas Cup solves the problem and is one of those girly drinks where you can barely taste the alcohol but also gets the job done. It’s made with vodka, housemade strawberry purée and a splash of champagne for that extra bubbly. So delicious and refreshing! This bar has offers a lot of historical, New Orleans classics such as sazerachs, French 75s and Milk Punches. And they do the job well. My boyfriend got the Milk Punch which came with Irish whiskey, milk and… Lucky Charms?! A strange combination as it may sound, it was actually a pretty cool, delicious drink for whiskey lovers.

Another oasis from the cesspool of debauchery going on in bourbon st. It’s clean, cool and has interesting drinks. My friends has the local absinthe and really really enjoyed it. They said it was a really cool experience and are gonna go back for the more expensive French one. The hub had a yummy pimms cup. I had a Bloody Mary which was fine but prolly the wrong thing to order since it’s hard to find a bad Bloody Mary in this town.

Top notch bar. Drinks are fantastic, served with flare and knowledgeable staff are eager to please. Bloody Mary, best in city, that’s saying something right!?! Great presentation with drinks, try to be a notch above the crowd makes for memorable experience.

By far(for me at least) the classiest bar on Bourbon. The atmosphere has a great old time feel, with black and white movies playing in the background, it’s a time warp bar. The ladies behind the bar are absolutely wonderful, and made our night. To my surprise they had absinthe on their drink menu. So, I definitely had to try that. Their other drinks were well crafted and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone, native or visiting.

Jason and Rachel will take very good care of you making their exceptional craft cocktails and I suspect that everyone there will do the same. This is a really nice place for cocktails in the midst of all the craziness on Bourbon Street, and they usually have some good traditional jazz making for a perfect NOLA experience. If you’re looking for the biggest party on Bourbon Street you’ll find it elsewhere; if your looking for a comfortable cocktail lounge for talking with friends, listening to great jazz, and indulging in some respectable craft cocktails, B-O-B might be perfect for you. Cheers!

This is the bar you are thinking of when you picture visiting NOLA. The only problem is that when you get in there it doesn’t feel authentic. It feels like it is made for tourists and plays down to your expectations. Instead of doing something great and blowing you away it feels as though it is settling for something less. Had I come here on my first night in NOLA I would have been pleased but after spending time in other bars on Frenchman street I was let down. Don’t get me wrong the drinks were fine if not a little pricey. The music was better than most on Bourbon Street but like I said before I was left wanting more. A solid stop if you are near by but if your time is limited in town head to Frenchman street and you will better spend your time there.

This was a really cool bar next to the hotel my wife and I were staying at in New Orleans on a long weekend vacation. The bartenders were super cool and the jazz was fun every night they were playing. Dark, but light enough to see each other and the atmosphere was amazing. For a hotel bar, this place ruled.

Bourbon O Bar is a mass production craft cocktail bar. Had everything been made in front of you instead of just pre-mixed and poured into glasses this place would be 4.5 or 5 stars. Let’s dive in… So the good: The service we got from Cheryl was amazing. She took the time to sit with us and explain the history of the Romanos Gin Fizz, take our picture with a cardboard cutout figure, offer to charge our iPhones, and answer my questions and discuss her books(she has won several awards) and the techniques and design that went into everything. Heck we compared freezing techniques for making the perfect clear cubes. I feel really bad for leaving 3 stars after getting such great service for her but with much hesitation I think this will help them grow. I promise to come back and re-review this bar on my next trip. My favorite drinks: Ramanos Gin Fizz — they use a paint shaker type device to shake the drink for 6 full minutes and it comes out creamy, and amazing, one of the best drinks I have ever had. Go to this bar just to try it. Hot Buttered Rum — This was a great winter drink, part of their seasonal menu, it was delightful Sazerac — Made to recipee always an excellent choice The Not so Great: There was one cocktail I absolutely hated. It was a burnt orange coffee type seasonal offering. It had far too much cinnamon and cloves in it. I took a few sips and set it off to the side. Cheryl was assisting other people and the other bartender(forget his name) didn’t do anything or offer me another drink. A little frustrating considering we spent about $ 150 that night. The next was the lack of on-the-fly craft and inability to actually customize the drinks to the taste of their customers. The Pear Old Fashioned comes to mind. I commented to the other bartender that I don’t like sweet drinks so can he make it less sweet. Nope. Premade. That drink also came on a light up LED coaster that in my opinion at least was too gimmicky. In fact most of the drinks were that way. They would have some nice tray or garnish, but the drink itself was barely mixed; simply pre-prepped and poured to order. All of that stuff took away from the art and craft and was really disappointing. Even the photo with the cutout screamed tourist. I guess it was on bourbon street so what do I expect right? None the less this place could have done so much better if they put a little more effort into the craft and took the time to ask customers what types of drinks they like to order and actually mixed things by hand instead of using machines. Lastly they sell almost all big brand liquor. There was very little from anything local, independant, etc on the menu. Green Chartreuse and Averno where probably some of the only unique and interesting liquors they had. There was maybe only a handful of liquors I hadn’t heard of before which was disappointing. It really breaks my heart that this place isn’t better considering all the awards Cheryl has won and books she has written. I think they optimized the place for speedy drinks and tourists. The menu is well written and carefully designed, and the atmosphere great. Wonderful fixtures and rich in history, but the heart was missing. Bar Tonique, Three Muses, SoBou, and French 75 are all great options if you’re looking for something more custom and crafted. Still come here for the Fizz. Just order that.

This was by far my favorite bar in New Orleans(and we definitely went to more than a few). It was here that I discovered my new favorite drink, the gin fizz! It’s shaken for a full 6 minutes by machine, and definitely worth a try. What I love about this bar is that it is close to all the action on Bourbon street, but has a more low-key, old-school classy vibe to it. Load up on cocktails and take a stroll down bourbon back to the hotel for a highly entertaining people watching experience.

This is on bourbon and pricey but it’s a cool bar with great bartenders. These people make some craft cocktails. I was also having a blast playing with the 1930s old timey phone they have hanging out on the bar.

What a welcome respite from the shitshow that is Bourbon Street. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Bourbon, but sometimes you just don’t want to navigate around people carrying those ridiculous green hand grenade drinks. This was the only bar on Bourbon that I think I could stand. The first night we stopped in, there was an insanely good jazz/swing band playing. The atmosphere is low-lit and inviting. Cocktails were great. The Ramos Gin Fizz was delicious. They have a 6-minute shaker(apparently the proper amount of time it’s meant to be shaken.) The shaker was mesmerizing. Less mesmerizing was the TV at the bar. Ditch the TV and it’d be the perfect atmosphere.

Hotel is 5 stars. Sadly the bar connected to the hotel could use some help. The floor was one of the stickiest bar floors I have ever walked on. I would expect that from many of the ran thru heauxish bars on bourbon, but not at a bar connected to a 5 star hotel. The prices reflect a 5 star hotel though… lame…Pims Cup had wayyy too much fruit in it. Step it up Bourbon O! Step it up!

Excellent bar for creative and classic cocktails, NOLA style! The mixologists provide a great show while crafting your cocktail; it is clear they are professionals. The resulting concoctions, made with the best(and true) ingredients, are delicious! This swanky bar has window views of Bourbon street, interesting wall murals, clean bathrooms, and is a nice respite from the«fray» that is Bourbon Street.

This place had the best environment of all the bars I visited on Bourbon St., and there were many! First of all, it is refreshing to find a bartender that knows how to make drinks from something other than a tub of pre-made liquid. Julie was phenomenal! Not only did she supply me with my first Pimm’s Cup, but she was pleasant, knowledgeable, and took the time with every customer to make sure they had personal attention. She even gave me a discount on the drink for mistaking me as a hotel guest and asking if I had a drink ticket. I recommend the Pimm’s Cup as well. If you are looking for a classy New Orleans experience, check it out. I will definitely be going back to Bourbon O Bar on my next visit.

Amazing reprieve for grown-ups on Bourbon Street. Craft cocktails are excellent and the music was amazing! Where every other place nearby was shoulder to shoulder with drunken idiots, this bar afforded the space to move, migle, enjoy a drinm, converse with friends and a knowledgeable bar tendor, and enjoy the lively band!

You win Bourbon O Bar, you win!!! You are my favorite bar on Bourbon Street. It is such a respite from the loud, stinky, typical bars that surround it. I love the sexy décor, the phone chargers, the free popcorn, and fun love entertainment, but I especially love their drink menu(both how the menu looks, aesthetically, and the creative drinks within). I got the Salty Dora, which is made with house made horchata and Ghirardelli liquor, and my brother got the gin fizz, which is shaken for either 6 or 12 minutes(depending on what you prefer) to make a nice frothy drink. If you ever get sick of the barf and smelly water on Bourbon Street, drop by and have some popcorn(if your appetite allows) and a tasty, unique drink!

My wife and I had this highlighted to try so we stopped in around 9:30 pm on Friday. This was a really nice lounge with great atmosphere. It really captures the classic side of New Orleans in its vibe and décor. Our bartender was Becca and she was both pleasant and knowledgeable. She recommended a Chardonnay for me to try that was on point and I also tried the Trinity Oaks Pinot Grigio which I enjoyed. My wife ordered the Midas Cup which was their most publicized drink and she said it did not disappoint. She also tried a Bloody Mary but didn’t enjoy that as much. A Bloody Mary is an acquired taste that varies from person to person so I think it was more that she likes a slightly saltier version than others may like. That makes it a it’s hit and miss a lot of times. As for Becca, she was excellent and she also took the time to recommend another place for us to try as we were leaving that she said would have some wines we would like. She was absolutely right and we always enjoy suggestions from people who know the region and get to know what we prefer when we talk about things like wine. We will most definitely return in the future.

We walked into this bar off of bourbon very randomly. It was very clean, the bartenders were extremely welcoming and we decided to stay to listen to the singer. The drinks were absolutely delicious — handcrafted carefully with fresh ingredients(which is a nice relief from the drinks you’ll get most other places on bourbon). The atmosphere was so relaxing and drinks so great — we went back every night we were there and spent my birthday there! These folks really know how to make you feel welcome.

After my sister’s mini-wedding, We stopped at this bar. It was the classiest place We went to that night, by far! The bartender made us a frozen drink Called Winter Wedding Cupcake. It’s usually served in a tall glass But ours, into shots, she did make! It was the perfect start to our night. Downing shots that were sparkly. But this was just the first of many stops And we were in the mood to party!

This place is great! Great New Orleans vibe and music! Eudora Evans has an amazing voice. The atmosphere is great, the drinks are exquisite and worth the money(kind of on the pricey side but not extravagant and well worth the money) This bar has a laid back vibe which is a nice calm way to start out or end a night partying on bourbon… or if you just want a New Orleans experience without the craziness, this is the place for you.

Great drinks! Love how they highlight all the bartenders with their history and their specialty drink. I got the milk punch and loved my drink. They’re all made very well here and the bartenders have won awards for being the best of the best. Also recommend the midas cup, they use fresh fruit and it’s amazing!

If you need a well-made cocktail after dealing with the crowds of foolish asshats on Bourbon Street, this is your place. Bourbon O Bar is the only place on Bourbon Street I would actually spend my money. They do drinks the right way: hand squeezed citrus, homemade simple syrups and mixers, homebrewed ginger beer, local craft beer, and skilled bartenders. I’ve been here three times and never had a drink that was less than excellent. I’ve tried their hot buttered rum, milk punch, and gumbo Bloody Mary. The cocktails are a bit pricy, but you’re getting great quality. The price is about equivalent to what you’d pay for a nice cocktail in other southern cities. The atmosphere is dark, quiet, and calm. It’s the perfect refuge in a sometimes overwhelming area. They play old black and white movies on the televisions and jazz through the speakers. This bar is for people who are older or old at heart like me. Absolutely love it.

One of my favorite bars in New Orleans, and if you’ve ever been to New Orleans, you know there are a lot of them to choose from. I recently started drinking Whiskey like an aged hard alcoholic drinker tends to do… and this is one of the only places on the strip who will do it right. I had one of their aged barrel cocktails, whiskey based. And slowly sipped it to the tunes of Eudora Evans. It was a great getaway from the craziness outside, the drunken basic b*tches & college frat boys. Even the old timers trying to get in the last of their«youth». Please just give me delicious, strong cocktail with a hint of how the world used to be on the side. Bourbon O Bar delivers just that. Cheryl is so great and nice, she has a map of the area that highlight things to do and bars to drink at. Please come to Honolulu and stop by Bevy and we’ll swap stories once again: D

Best Bar in New Orleans, by far. Every single cocktail is made to perfection… this isn’t simply just pouring a mixed drink or having a hurricane mix in a water cooler, all of these bartenders want you to thoroughly enjoy your drink and your time at the Bourbon O. Most of the specialty cocktails take a while to be made, so be patient with them and watch your lovely drink come to life. We got to meet just about everybody at our stay in Bourbon Orleans. from Steven to Apprentices — they were all great. Is it cheap like other places in NOLA? No, but its completely worth it, every single little penny. Love the atmosphere, its classy, but not stuck up and has this prohibition feel to it.
