Bernie is awesome. He’s pricey ($ 30) but I think it’s worth it. It’s a small shop, and they lock the front door so their puppy doesn’t get out. They make great conversation, and if I’m in town for a conference and need a cut, don’t think twice about calling him and booking a reservation.

Had a fantastic experience with Bernie and Alma! My boyfriend went in for a haircut at 5pm on a Saturday and they were amazing. So welcoming and fun. Great conversation, fantastic haircut, a very reasonably priced. Quick in and out, too. Make an appointment and bring cash!

A real barber shop. Great cut, done with scissors by a barber who really knows his craft. Bernie is also a nice guy. No TVs, no whiskey with your haircut, just a relaxing experience and an excellent haircut at a reasonable price.

This shop is tucked away in the warehouse district, and Bernie does a better job than anyone I’ve had cut my hair in the city. Excellent conversation, excellent value, and a superb cut make this shop hard to pass up. I recommend any friends in town get cleaned up here!

Great barber with fantastic conversation and recommendations for what to eat and experience around town. Started with a shampoo, the cut was only with scissors until the edges and trimmed the beard for only $ 30. Definitely a deal for a great local experience. Conversation definitely extended the cut time to an hour.

I stopped by here today for the first time and wow what a great experience! I was a little dubious about going for a cut here seeing as there hadn’t been any reviews yet but I’m glad I did.
Bernie has owned the shop for about 14 years and you can tell he really loves what he does. He did a really thorough job with cutting my hair and it was a great price too. Normally when I go into a barbers I hardly say a word but Bernie and his wife (I think it was his wife?) made me feel at home and were amazingly friendly.
I’ve been to a couple of other barbers around town and generally they felt really stuffy and certainly not worth the price I paid. I’m so glad to have finally found a go-​to place in NOLA!
