I don’t usually give 1 star reviews but here I am. I tried to book an appointment online after closing hours and received an email saying that I would receive an email confirmation if my requested slot was available. I never received the confirmation so I figured it wasn’t. When I called Francis to try to book over the phone he was a total jerk and said he wouldn’t see me again since missed my appointment. For 25 bucks plus tip, Francis Nguyen gives you a great cut, speedy but with great attention to detail. He gets your input as he goes along to make sure you like the direction. Good conversation and humor as well. I have tried other places in the CBD, and while they are very skilled they seem to cut your hair the way they want it instead of how you would like it. Francis really is a great honest barber. I will be going back for sure!

I have never been satisfied with my haircut and even after spending two years in nola I was not able to figure out who suits my needs best. Well, it seems like i found the right shop. Kinda costly ($ 30 with tip) but the haircut was perfect.

I’m going to have to agree with Greg F. I’ve been shopping around for a go-​to barber for about two years now. Francis is awesome – and he can cut some hair! I’m amazed he hasn’t gotten more reviews; here’s a second on the way to 57!

I don’t add reviews for most of the places I have read about on Unilocal because I don’t know why anyone would care about what I think of some place versus the other 57 people who have already written reviews. But no one at all has reviewed Francis yet?
I’ve been getting my hair cut by Francis since he first moved downtown into the Pan American building shortly after Katrina flooded his old shop by the lake. He’s now been across the street in 650 Poydras for years. For guys working downtown on or near Poydras Street, I couldn’t imagine a more convenient place to get your hair cut. He gives quality, consistent cuts at a fair price. Like any good barber, tell him what you want the first time and you”ll never have to tell him again. And he’s a good guy.
Just remember to call ahead to make sure he can fit you in.
