I made an appt. 2 months ago after I specifically asked if they took my insurance. I provided them with my group and member ID. I was told that I would receive a new patient packet via email to expedite the visit. I called and left a voicemail that I didn’t receive it and never received a call back. I arrived 30 minutes early for my appt. to fill out the information. I waited for another hour and finally a nurse called me up to the window to inform me that they didn’t takes insurance! I was told that I had to leave basically. I took time off of work for this and just felt like my time wasn’t respected. The front desk staff was nice, but the overall experience was very unpleasant.

Friendly Fast and Helpful… They offer a complimentary visit if ur not sure of what exactly is going on with ur skin. Didn’t have to use my health ins. Never heard of a dermatology office offering that kind of service and it was well worth it.

I love this dermatologist office! The staff is sweet and I’ve always been seen promptly. I also think Dr Sarah Jackson is wonderful, just by talking with her you can tell she’s very smart, extremely competent, and a great sense of humor. Not to mention she can diagnose your condition nearly at the speed of light AND accurately. I received my treatment right there on the spot without having to make another appointment. Quick, reliable, and to the point without cutting corners is always a plus in my book.

I have been treated by Sarah Jackson, M.D., and her staff on 5 occasions. The office and all who I have encountered among the staff are professional, pleasant, kind and reassuring. In every instance, nurses, assistants and Dr. Jackson have taken the time to listen to my questions and concerns, and to address them. I feel well-cared-for and in good hands at Audubon Dermatology, and I strongly recommend this practice.

It’s a bummer having to wait an hour to see a doctor when you have an appointment, but Dr. Hooper makes up for it. She’s quick. I had a baby skin tag make its way out on my eyelid. She could tell that I was apprehensive about numbing it with a needle and cutting etc. So she got it out very quickly and painlessly without any needles. Was definitely worth the wait not to have a needle in your eye! I haven’t been to see her in two or three years and man are her eyelashes longer! I believe she offers Latisse. Definitely something to look into by the looks of her lashes! Parking sucks because the Touro doctors don’t validate in the parking garage, but I usually find a spot on Louisiana.

I came here for mid-‘30s-adult-onset, cystic acne that came out of nowhere(I never had much acne as a teen) and wouldn’t go away. Imagine ½-marble-size pimples that never penetrated the skin.(Except for those that did penetrate the skin, which were even worse.) After suffering with it about 2 years, I went to a dermatologist here in LA who didn’t seem to care and gave me a bunch of prescription-strength benzoyl peroxide, that dried my skin and left me with(guess what?) pimples on top of the dried skin. I tried Effeclar-K(some success), salicylic acid pads like Clearasil(no real success), and even a sulfur mask, all to no avail. I came here on a recommendation from my mother, when I was home in New Orleans for Christmas. Dr. Hooper recommended Green Cream and a Gly-Derm wash. The Green Cream isn’t super-cheap(at the time $ 50 or so seemed like a lot), but it lasted about 3 months using it just at night, and the Gly-Derm wasn’t very pricey(about $ 15) and also lasted awhile. To my amazement, my acne cleared up in about 4 months and has never returned. That was around 7 years ago, and now I just use the Green GEL, and don’t really need the Gly-Derm anymore.(In fact, I don’t even need the Green Gel for the acne; I use it now because it makes my skin look better.) In a nice«bonus» postscript to this story, when I started dating my girlfriend about a year ago, she’d been suffering with bad acne for about a decade. I suggested the same regimen that Dr. Hooper prescribed for me, and a year later her complexion has improved a lot, and she’ll really happy about it. If you have acne, try this solution! THANKYOU Dr. Hooper!!! I’m just SO happy I found this place.

I can’t lie and say I actually *like* going to this office, but I also don’t *like* going to any health care professional, so there’s that. I’ve been here for two different reasons: scary mole issue(after hearing about yet another person dropping dead from some incurable skin cancer… My magnifying glass and thousand watt bulb weren’t really getting me anywhere) and for IPL(ie, laser torture). Dr. Jackson checked out my mole. She is very fast talking as others mention(and this is coming from a somewhat fast talking New Yorker), but I also appreciate the damn speediness of the entire procedure. Assessment-explanation– biopsy-bang, you’re done. A week later, I received the good news and that was that. Before she whisked herself out the door, I asked about lasers for skin discoloration(an infuriating red dot that wouldn’t go away) and she made sure to shut the door, listen and suggest that I get an assessment on another appointment. The assessment is free. I can’t say that it was terribly thorough, however. It was done by an aesthetician and it was more about me asking questions than an assessment. I had one done last year elsewhere and really walked out of there feeling like they looked me over and made sound suggestions. I came back for IPL, as suggested by Dr. Jackson. WARNING: this is more painful than a tattoo and I am not kidding(in case you haven’t noticed, I have a lot of tattoos). I once heard that they are making improvements with IPL so that it’s less like a cigarette burn combined with being pummeled with rubber bands, but no such luck here. I really need follow up, but I’m dreading it. Not their fault. Just the way it is. Luckily it was pretty quick. And the redness has definitely improved. Prices seem competitive with other places in town. They offer specials, so that’s cool, too, if ever I decide to go the route of Botox…

I went here recently to see Dr. Jackson. Dr. Jackson speaks very quickly, but don’t mistake that for her being in a rush, because she’s not. She will answer every question you have, and is very nice and professional. This was my first time seeing her, and I heard good things, so I was willing to wait a month before seeing someone about a rash that I was sure was spreading. I waited because I’ve had bad experiences in the past with dermatologists misdiagnosing me and my skin irritations getting worse as a result(nothing worse than when you think there’s no possible way you could more uncomfortable than you are right now). She knew what was happening to my skin the moment she inspected my rash. She confirmed my source of the rash, and answered my concerns on how to avoid getting a rash again from nickel. Asked me about my concerns with certain medications(most doctors ignore me when I tell them my allergy to topical cortisones). And she made some recommendations that I plan to follow. The medicine she prescribed is working like a charm to clear up my irritation. If you are looking for a knowledgeable dermatologist to help you with your skin problems, she is the one to go to. She will get down to the bottom of it, and you will feel better.

These fast-talking, informative, personable women who headline this shrine to better skin health know their stuff. if they don’t, they’re upfront with you and seek advice before offering options for your issue, be it medical or cosmetic. The exterior reminded me of Nip/Tuck without the drama. I could have taken a nap on those buttery-soft couches. Melanoma? Got it covered. Botox? Offer discount days. Love doctor-formulated skincare lines? Plenty to choose! Why 4 stars? No validation for parking. That garage can add up fast…
