I work in the building and have come here a few times before. Food is good. Staff is friendly but they move slow so if you work in the area and want to run in for lunch be mindful of that. It’s quiet and for the most part hidden because the entrance is on a side block(Barclay Street) so most people don’t even know that it’s there which I like. Nice place overall.

The sign on the restaurant door showed that the health department had not found everything in order… It was not my choice so we ventured into the cafeteria looking diner. It was s step into the old New York as well as into the«diner» style dining. Second warning — not a diner person… The staff was friendly and the service swift and New York. We all had some standard fare and my dish was the pasta. I asked for a change and the waiter was very accommodating. Pasta was cooked al dents to my liking and the portion large. Nice spot and lots of history.

We stopped into the Woolworth Tower Kitchen for drinks after meetings in the WTC area. This is a great place, that seems relatively unknown. We were just there for a few discussions and some business discussions and it was perfect. Not too loud to have conversation, great, actually huge pours of wines by the glass, was even proactive in also giving us each glasses of water and popcorn(no I didn’t eat any on my Mediterranean diet)!

I like the ambiance more than the food… it’s a good escape from the hustle and bustle of City Hall, 9⁄11 Memorial, etc. The food is fine, not bad, not great, kinda pricey, but at least they offer daily specials. Today I opted for an omelette for lunch. In addition to the surroundings, the servers are very attentive. I think they could benefit from removing the TVs at the bar and perhaps adding a live piano player and a small lounge seating section.

Have only been here for the drinks but the service is great! The place is relatively quiet even when it’s crowded which is nice and the bartender is really friendly and knows his drinks. Be careful though — they’re frequently closed for private events so best to call beforehand if you’re heading over and not already in the area.

The space was very nice. I can see how this is a nice place to hang out for lunch. I got the grilled chicken salad of the day. It was Meh. I have had better salad and dressing at take out places in the city.

Just a delightful little café that four of us stopped in after the Tour of the Woolworth Building. Had tea and apple tart with ice cream … Yum … Did not have lunch there but wish we would have done that it would have been so much more pleasant than a rushed lunch at a deli! Next time!

I can’t believe my very first restaurant review on Unilocal has to be a bad one but I was so disappointed with my experience at WTK. I couldn’t wait to meet my friends for dinner. They work in the area so they’ve dined at this restaurant for lunch. I read the menu and already knew what I would have for dinner. I arrived at the restaurant psyched for a great time and great meal, walked in and all the excitement died off while I waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and seat me. I had to walk over to the bartender to get help and he got one of the waiters to help me. I had to ask about drinks, ask for a drink menu and ask if there were any specials. And it kept going downhill. They brought out our appetizers and then minutes later brought out our entrees, cramming everything onto the small table. The waiter never came to check on us, the busboy never even came by to refill our water, nor did he or the waiter come by to clear our plates. I was so fascinated by dining surrounded by all piled plates and now cold food that I had to take a picture of it. I work in television and for one split second I thought we were in the middle of some insane reality prank show but nope, it was real. My friend finally lost it with the waiter who was unbelievably rude and asked for the manager. No manager on the premises. The bartender, bless him, helped and comped some of our bill. FYI — never eat at Johnny’s station! Totally unprofessional. I will say my dumplings were delicious. My pasta was cold but flavorful. Had to bring it home. I did like the food but I would never go back to a place that has waitstaff who act like they’re doing me a favor. A shame.

Went there with friends for quick Friday lunch, the place was pretty empty. Server was attentive and each to reach out, BUT the food did took sometime to come out. Ambience was great, good to have conversation. The quantity was great but from flavor front nothing stood out. Between us beef burger, turkey burger and veal based sauce pasta was ordered. French fries were alot but not great as you would expect for the price.

I’ve been twice now as it is on my way home. The food is ok, the décor is ok, the service is ok. All of this is fine with me though because the price is also ok. I wouldn’t go here on a date or a special night but if you are just in the mood to go out and you’re already in the area its place where the food is ok for a decent price. But I stress the food is just OK.

I just ate such a delicious meal from Woolworth Tower Kitchen. The tuna salad was very good, the pork quesadilla was delicious, but the potato skins were unbelievable! Cooked perfectly and everything was delivered hot. Will definitely be ordering here again.

Amazing! I had been to this restaurant many times with my friends, and without question, this is one of the finest restaurants in NYC! We’ve always had a great time here! the atmosphere and the service were excellent and the food was fantastic!!! The dishes are perfectly prepared, absolutely delicious and very pleasing to the eye without any gimmicks! We loved it here and would definitely recommend to others.

I’ve come here on many occasions for dates as well as business lunches/dinners. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and the décor is beautiful and architecturally stunning(much like the building it’s located in!). The space is open and airy, yet still very intimate feeling. The menu has something for everyone, from the more casual diner(burgers, mac and cheese, and the best darn tater tots around) to the guest with a more refined palette(tuna nicoise, seared scallops, and amazing steaks) — you’re sure to please everyone in your group here! Speaking of groups, I’ve been to a few office parties held here and they were all great! The side room was comfortable and accommodated all of our guests, and the appetizer platters they served were amazing(shrimp tempura, pork dumplings, and my favorite — Coney Island mini corn dogs!)! The wine and beer selection is great as well. Overall, the Woolworth Tower Kitchen is a great place to come for any occasion and I’d highly recommend it for the quality and the value of the food!

While the lobby of the Woolworth Bldg. is one of the most magnificent in the world, the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. We were at a private Saturday night function here. While the drinks were fine and the staff was nice enough, I honestly didn’t know that food this bad was still being served in Manhattan. Just about everything was fried — and not in a good way. The cod had so much coating, you couldn’t taste the fish. They even served mac ‘n cheese inside breading on toothpicks with guac. Not a good thing to serve on a toothpick… The roasted root veggies were edible(the beets were actually good), but the salmon was fishy and unappealing.

My friend had a birthday dinner here, and all the dishes were pretty satisfactory. I thoroughly enjoyed my clam linguini. The only dishes that were slightly amiss were the paella and the caprese. It was quiet — which was great for conversation.

I’ve been here a few times for martinis at the bar and it was always fine. Not excellent, not bad. More than anything, I love the idea of this place. Come on, it’s in the Woolworth Building! So a couple of weeks ago, I met a friend for dinner here because I wanted her to come for the novelty of it, and well, it’s right near the PATH train for me ;) Had a bloody mary, potato skins(very gourmet!), burger and pizza for my friend. Bloody Mary: Loved it but it was on the small size. And they can make them spicy! Potato Skins: they were good but I like the traditional kind better. These seemed to have the bacon stuffed into them. And the potatoes were cut fancy! Burger: Good but I don’t remember anything extraordinary about it. Pizza: She said it was very good but it did not look like it would be good from where I was sitting…(sorry!) Service: Very good. She was just attentive enough for me to feel like she was paying attention to us. Atmosphere: there were a couple of tables, not crowded or loud. I love quiet places! Will I return: Yes, definitely. For the location alone, I think it’s a good spot and they can definitely accommodate large groups! I wanted to give them a 3.5 starts actually.

On a recent Monday, my co-workers and I stepped through the historic Woolworth Tower and into a perfect fusion of old and new, downtown style and New York. I ordered the clam linguine which was generously sized and enough for two. Overall, I found the food to be mild tasting with subtle flavors, but completely satisfying.

Came for Restaurant Week — $ 30 for three courses. We had just walked across the Brooklyn Bridge from downtown Brooklyn, were hot, flushed and wanting a cool place to relax/eat and the sign telling of the deal outside this attractive building seemed ideal. We quickly walked inside this tasteful, beautifully air conditioned restaurant at noon on a Thursday. The crowd was mostly business workers on their lunch breaks talking office stuff with briefcases and pens flashing. Besides us though there were a few other tourist-filled tables. It was a fun, chill mix. The waitstaff was excellent — on-point but unobtrusive. Friendly and helpful. Due to the Restaurant Week deal we ordered off the special menu, but it was all delicious. I had the gazpacho(surprising and delicious — it was actually spicy which I enjoyed), the chicken with salad(nothing outrageously good, but it was still tasty) and chocolate mousse for dessert(which I hardly ate — so full, but it was v. good). There was also a collection of truly delicious breads to accompany the meal. The Restaurant Week deal also included your choice of tea or coffee. I got the tea iced and it was good. I would go again, but like someone else wrote, this place is not a destination restaurant, but if you’re in the area it is definitely worth your time. Gorgeous building, classy environs, delicious, competent food and a knowledgeable staff. Yep.
