Woody’s is not cheap, doesn’t have a great selection, and doesn’t always keep their inventory stocked up. However, they’re open later than most of the liquor stores in the neighborhood, and overpriced booze is better than no booze at all.
There’s an adorable Pekingese that sleeps in the window. Best marketing tool, ever (even if the dog’s kind of vicious)

Woody is a like a neighborhood celebrity on the UES. He started out riunnig a local bodega and candy store on 2nd Avenue and then re-​vamped it into an upscale Liquor Store with wines. Woody is a great guy and well known for blocks around.
I miss him. (And the good deals on booze.)
