I’ll tolerate almost anything as long as I don’t get sick from it and if it’s a decent price but this was definitely the WORST charsiu I ever ate. I bought 1 lb of their char siu to-go($ 10) and it was disgustingly dry and barely warm. Unlike their sister store down the street, it was super empty aside from their workers, so the meat had been sitting there for a long time. AVOID!!!

The go to spot for roasted meats in Chinatown. Place is super local and not catered to tourist and food is pretty fresh and cheap. Bring a $ 10 for a meal and you’ll likely walk out with change. Try not to come too late at night because like many other restaurants they do run out roasted meats and usually later at night the cuts that aren’t as nice remain.

I order a Duck over at Rice, The duck A little bit not well done, after I finish half of it, I couldn’t eat anymore, just no taste, but the worst is after about half an hour my stomach don’t Feel right, so I went home right away and I had to go bathroom never eat there again in my life!

Wong Kee is an old-school Chinatown eating experience right down to table sharing, those ubiquitous double-sided stainless steel napkin dispensers, and restaurant staff eating their lunch alongside regular customers. I had the Buddha’s Delight which is a vegetarian dish comprised of sauteed vegetables(carrots, corn, snow peas, several mushroom varieties, water chestnuts, etc.) and bean curd skins all in a soy based sauce… FYI: you can do a internet search and see other common ingredients in this dish. It was delicious with all the vegetables being fresh, and it was quite filling too considering the generous portion, as this dish is usually meant to be eaten family style. Mom had the congee and it was no frills with nice chunks of sliced flank steak and fresh veggies. Sister enjoyed a noodle broth with BBQ chinese pork and veggies, and again a no frills filling dish with a sweet broth, fresh bite-through noodles, fresh veggies, and slightly fatty roast pork. You come here to grab a quick, inexpensive, and filling honest meal, so don’t expect ambiance or white napkin service and you’ll be satisfied.

No recommend to order congee to-go, they put half noodles under the congee if you see it you will lose appetite

Apparently there’s two related restaurants, Big Wong and Wong Kee. I’ve never been to Wong Kee before so today I stopped by to get an order of roast duck and wonton noodle soup to go.($ 7.25) They don’t give much soup in the to-go container, but the soup I had was pretty tasty. The egg noodles were good, nicely chewly and not overly yellow(didn’t taste sulfuric). I usually dislike egg noodles but forgot to request flat white noodles. The wontons were pretty good, as were pieces of roast duck. Overall, tasty soup, I would get it again. The interior of the restaurant is nondescript and ‘holey’, not a place for ambiance.

I hesitate to rate restaurants in Chinatown over 3 stars not because of the quality or quantity of the food, but because of the slave like dining experience– being seated with strangers, servers’ martinet attitudes, bill being placed on the table with the food and not after you’re finished eating. You know what I’m talking about. It’s been my experience many times and I’ve been conditioned to expect the worst and expected the worst when I came here, but my experience was quite the opposite. It was a delightful one. When we entered, we were immediately seated and hot tea was served. The menu at first looked overwhelming with hundreds of items to choose from, but my friend who comes here often recommended the noodle soups. So I ordered the Duck with Wonton noodle soup. When the dish came out in less than 5 minutes, my first reaction was, «this is a kid’s size bowl!» How mistaken was I to judge a meal by its cover. As I digged in tearing apart the duck and wontons and working my way to the noodles(which are firm the way I like it), the noodles remarkably expanded and doubled in quantity(like the 5 loaves and 2 fish). The noodles were packed densely in this small bowl. The broth which is smooth and full of flavor, complemented the noodles well however it could have been warmer and the dish filled with more. I finished the broth well before the noodles. Perhaps the dish could have been served in a larger bowl to accommodate more broth. The service was excellent and I will definitely go again and order the roast pork noodle soup which my friend also recommends!

Great little place for Cantonese food! Not expensive at all. Sweet pork and soy chicken are great for my standard. Waiters are super friendly. Cash only.

Nice place. Started to come here because the staff from Big Wong on the other side of canal street moved over here. Friendly as always. I tend to come here mainly in the morning hours, but i like that I can order a full meal even then. The dishes are not your average American-chinese food that non chinese-Americans are used too, so be prepared to try new things if you’ve never experienced real chinese food before!

Big Wing Wong a/k/a whatever legal entity this restaurant is named now has been a favorite of mine for a very long time. Yes, it shares an owner with Big Wong King down the road. Congee with pork along with thousand year old egg and duck are my favorite items here. Two people can have a seated brunch with two bowls of congee, an «ox-tongue pastry» and a fried cruller dough for $ 12. The roast pork vermicelli roll and baby shrimp vermicelli roll are great, too! Although Big Wong King makes slightly better food, in my opinion, this is a place where being seated is almost never a problem! While the crowds swarm Big Wong King, Big Wing Wong can be a great option if you’re famished. Cantonese fast food at its best is extremely efficient. Within 45 seconds of ordering, you should receive your order. Amazing! With food inflation hitting every restaurant, including McDonald’s, I am so glad that the rate of inflation has been slower at this establishment. I hope to come back more often! The restaurant is relatively small but management uses the space effectively; every table and seat is used; you’re almost always going to share a table, and that’s okay. Be communal!

I usually go to the infamous Big Wong’s, but I decided to avoid the crowd and give this place a try. I’ve heard from people that it’s owned by the same people as Big Wong’s. They do have the same menu and atmosphere. Anything roast pork is usually what I get from this type of restaurant. I got the roast pork congee and the fried cruller rice crepes, while my boyf got the roast pork and chicken leg over rice. This is my type of comfort food. If you want a change from the usual preserve egg and meat congee, try the roast pork congee. I love how the flavors of the roast pork melt into the congee. As for the fried cruller rice crepes, they make it fresh to order so it comes out really crispy. I can’t say much about the roast pork and chicken leg over rice because my boyf devoured it before offering me a bite. I’ll probably come back here instead of Big Wong’s since it isn’t overcrowded and they don’t rush you to leave. Also it’s not filled with tourist either.

Good, authentic Cantonese food with standard Chinese-restaurant service and ambience. It’s becoming a bit touristy, but that doesn’t deter me. You might have to share a table with another party and it’s a bit cramped in there. The food makes up for it though: it comes quickly and is very fresh.

Food: 3.5÷5.0 Service: 2.5÷5.0 Value: 4.0÷5.0 Décor: 2.0÷5.0 Overall: 3.5÷5.0 Good food and great value, just like almost any other decent Cantonese BBQ joint in city. The core BBQ offering is good but the rest of the menu is worth trying as well. In most other cities this spot would stand out, but this is New York. Cash only.

Best cha siu(roasted pork) in China Town. Attracts not only Chinese locals, I was surprised how many people of other races were in the restaurant. A caucasian guy in the restaurant brought his own wine to go along with pork ribs. Fancy! So don’t be shy, definitely try some roasted pork! I certified this place to be an authentic Chinese BBQ.

Unfortunately the name is a reference to the address, not the number of noodles in each portion. This would be a much more interesting place if there was an exacting cook in the back, feverishly counting portions and separately individual strands of noodles. Instead it’s a pretty standard Cantonese café, which the steam table of organs, hanging meats and dry vegetables in the front, and a waitstaff that wonders around the rest. I went with a good benchmark dish for this sort of establishment — an order of wonton noodle soup and a side of roast pork. The noodles were nicely cooked, but the broth was too salty and the char siu far too dry. The dry char siu I find to be far more negative than the broth. The place had a fair amount of food traffic — mostly Chinese-Americans but also a couple of white faces. To diners past and present, I encourage you to vote with your feet and wallets and go somewhere else. Dry pork cannot be tolerated — even if it comes paired with a reasonable bowl of soup. (A word of warning for visitors decided on whether to indulge a second or third of tea — the bathroom here has that special kind of rot that can only come from decades of water damage and lack of proper maintenance. Your subconscious will be better off without these few images uploaded inside.)

If you are looking for somewhere in Chinatown with fast service, lots of choices, and(lots) of delicious foods, look no further than 102 Noodles Town. This place has been my favorite restaurant for many years. It gets kind of busy during lunch time but the food comes out quick so the wait isn’t usually that long. I love that you can see the different meats hanging by the open kitchen in the front. They have many rice dishes options, congees, as well as soup noodles(my personal favorite). If you are looking to do family style dining, they also have dishes that are good portions to share. This is a very solid place to get delicious, quick and cheap Chinese food. Love this place! Just remember, like most places in Chinatown, this is cash only!

Whether you know it or not, traditional Chinese restaurants that specialize in fast/takeout food are becoming extinct. Fortunately, you still two quality options that stood the test of time and has been in business for over twenty years. One is Big Wong King, and the other is 102 Noodles Town.(If you can read Chinese, you would think their names are so similar that they might share the same ownership). Nothing on the 102 Noodles Town menu outperforms the popular Chinese takeout spots like the Wonton Gardens and Congee Villages of the world. Heck, even Bo Ky gives you better options. But with that said, they offer a really exhaustive selection of rice dishes, noodle bowls, and congees that makes it a great one-stop-shop from a selection standpoint. The value is on par with Wah Fung or Great Noodle Town, so if you are caught being indecisive in the area, this is an option amongst the cluster of Shanghainese and Vietnamese spots on Mott Street.

I came here for work lunch. This is quite the place for take out lunch. A lot of customers came in. I feel like this place is more for the elderly. Majority of the restaurant was filled with elderly people sitting down and eating congee. Ordered the Sliced Fish Congee. It was pipping hot which was really good. A nice sprinkle of scallions for a little flavor, but could have used more. Plenty of slices of fish. More than most restaurants. The Fried Dough Bread was alright. It wasn’t fresh and little bit on the hard side. The Roasted Duck with Wonton noodle soup was okay. Lacked flavor and taste. The Beef Ho Fun was delicious. Great taste and flavor. It wasn’t oily either like some restaurants. The food comes out really quick once you made your order. Small restaurant. Nothing glamorous about this place. Cheap food.

3.5 stars At $ 5/bowl, the wonton or dumpling noodle soup was a terrific bargain. Some of the noodle houses in DC charge 7.99 or more. The filling is the same for both wonton and dumpling but there is some veg added in the dumplings. I ordered wonton and they gave me 5 wonton and more noodles. Broth could have used more salt. Note: Cash only

I really like the roasted duck over rice dish, and the lobster with ginger and scallion! Cantonese food has always been one of my favorite cuisine. But the place doesn’t feel clean :(sigh. There is just too few perfect dining experience when it comes to Asian cuisine in this city. Miss home food.

I have been coming here for a few years now ever since they closed my favorite Chinese restaurant across the street. Nothing fancy here. Just authentic Chinese food. This place is not that big with several tables and chairs. Depending on how many people are in your party you might sit with people you don’t even know. The minute you walk in you’re greeted by hanging roasted duck, roasted chicken, and roast pork. The roast pork is some of The Best I’ve had. The sliced roasted duck is good as well. I have also tried the soups, dumplings and fried rice. Never had anything bad. Service and food are quick. Depending on your waiter there might be a language problem cause most of them speak Chinese and understand English very little. One of my favorite dishes are the roast pork and scrambled egg over white rice. Simple and delicious.
