Dishes are dirty AF. Don’t come here. I was only here because my parents had a reunion with all their people from their village. I guess I never got around to posting my review, but I now see that this place is closed. It makes sense.

Came here and there were no dim sum carts being pushed around for 20 minutes. We had to go up to the front where the food is put into carts to get it ourselves. Even when there were lots of customers, there would be very few carts going around. Also when there was a cart coming around, the food would be cold and almost hard, and not fresh. Ther are a limited amount of choices for dim sum compared to other restaurants.

In more recent years I’ve only come here for party catering, such as for weddings. The food here is pretty good and of high quality. The service is fast and I like that this catering restaurant is on the ground floor. However, if you do decide to throw a party here for whatever reason, unless you have enough guests to fill up the entire restaurant, you’ll have to share with another party. All they have to separate you and the other party is a curtain, so expect the noise level to be up there.

Food was excessively oily and half the dishes were cold when they landed on the table.

I’ve been to Grand Harmony for many occasions — dinner, wedding parties, and dim sum. If you want a fast and efficient dim sum, come here. Over the years, the quality of the food certainly went downhill! Compared to other dim sum restaurants, they offer a limited variety of dim sum. Dim sum is often accompanied by hot tea. For a pot of hot tea, you may pick among Pu-erh, Jasmine, Sau Mei, and Shui Xin. I don’t like how you have to share tables with other patrons and makes it hard to hold conversations without being heard or judged. Also, the seating is so close together and thus, making it uncomfortable for some. For dim sum, we ordered steamed chicken feet in black bean sauce(which was served over peanuts), beef and parsley ball(served with worcestershire sauce), shumai, beef crepes(served with a sweet soy sauce), steamed roast pork bun, fish paste, parsley, and chinese sausage ball, steamed clear shrimp dumplings, and steamed yellow sponge cake. Most of the orders came in three’s. The worst dish was the steamed clear shrimp dumplings because they were overcooked.

Classic Chinese Dim Sum restaurant. I’ve been coming here ever since I was a little child and lived in Chinatown. The selection of food is the same at every dim sum restaurant. What I don’t like about this restaurant is that the food is missing wok-hei. Some of the food isn’t cooked fully enough and is missing some burnt aspects to it. Otherwise, I would still come here for dim sum.

The food is ok, I’ve tasted better. It’s nothing to really write home about. But if you have a large crowd of people you have to accommodate then this is one of the places to go if your down in China town. The feel of the Chinese culture is definitely felt in the ambiance of the place.

I don’t know why this restaurant has such a bad rating on Unilocal,I had a great time! The food was delicious, as in really delicious, and so cheap! Very authentic feel, communicating in English was a challenge at times, but that certainly isn’t a complaint. Almost every other diner was speaking in Chinese, and you’ve got to cater to your audience! Lots of types of dim sum, all of which were lovely. The only downside was that several of the carts had obviously been out on the floor for a long time, so the dishes on them were cold.

They have umm $ 2 special dim sum small, medium, and large only on weekdays. This place gets busy and crowded during the day for dim sum but empty for dinner. Occasionally there’s a party a few times a week. They have really good lobster noodles at reasonable price. I l always get their taro root dumplings, it’s yummy! I believe they’re running a special if your bill is over $ 40, they give you a free entrée coupon to use on your next visit. My grandma loves collecting those… This place it’s kind of old but food is decent

Met my sis and her husband here for sum sum on Valentine’s Day afternoon. When I looked up the Unilocal reviews I was a little skeptical but then again I understand the Chinatown scene. Not a lot on the service end, but as long as you deliver on the food and taste side, I’m alright. Walked in and were seated at a table for 8 right away. I tried not to judge the dingy seating or the fact that I had to stand next to the table that wasn’t even cleaned yet. Ordered son sticky rice and shu Mai even before my sister arrived. Delicious. Then the Chinese speaking couple arrived and I got some churng fun and chicken feet. Even more delicious. About 10 small dishes later I was stuffed. Best part? Bill for 4 people came to $ 48. Can’t beat that. I mean we had leftovers. So yeah I’m happy.

Unfortunately, there will be no photos attached to this review because of how hectic this restaurant was. CON — hectic, groups of people standing in the front and obstructing the ladies from moving the carts around and other customers from going to the bathroom — hard to track down a cart because of the huge crowd and relatively large restaurant — as big as the restaurant was, it was still difficult to get out of your seat and move about because everyone is squished together — mediocre dim sum, I have had better — the manager was short tempered and rushed us to make a decision when we came during a time where it was not yet crowded PRO — cheap, everyone paid $ 7 – 10 for the whole meal(there were over 20 of us)

Facts One of the longest standing restaurants in Chinatown, yet I’ve never set foot in. It looks like a place where Triads hang out playing MJ and horse betting than it does dim sum. The shrimp wrapped noodles tasted like chemicals. The chicken feet had more oil than a 15 year olds face. It was the first time I we never satisfied eating dim sum. A little girl was scratching her butt right in front of our table. On the inside. Not outside. It was a sad day in the land of dim sum.

You got what you paid for. A party of 8 for dim sum and the bill came out to $ 95 including tax. Not bad considering the price, but you could feel it the next day that you had subpar quality food. I could smell it from the outcome. Plus one of the waitresses followed me to the register just to make sure I tipped. Mmm, very impressive service that deserved a good tip!

I have been going here for a long time and the Dim Sum is very good. Most of the gripes I saw on the review sites are that it gets chaotic since it is busy. I do not disagree. It is a very popular spot so you may have to wait and/or share a table with others. However, I have seen the same thing at other popular Dim Sum restaurants in Manhattan, Queens, or Brooklyn. It does not bother me. Perhaps, it is because it seems natural since it has been the part of the experience for my entire life. Whenever I eat dim sum, my go to dishes are beef rice noodle(sometimes they are called crepes on the menu), fried dough rice noodle, turnip/radish cake, spare ribs, and chicken feet. I also like to top off the meal with a beef chow fun and chicken pan fried noodle. For my list of great Asian restaurants and food spots, please see:

2.5 stars. I thought this place would be alright. I have been to dingy restaurants before, but everything is just wrong with this place. The customers are mostly locals who have probably been coming here for years and since they’re familiar with everything are just comfortable here. I on the other hand, was not. The waiters were too busy chatting to pay attention to us. I don’t really know what to say about the food, it wasn’t loaded with msg, but it wasn’t good nor was it terrible. I think my greatest issue with the food here is I can’t even identify how to feel about it, edible? Anyway, I most certainly won’t be back if I had a choice, never let walking distance deter you from walking to another dim sum restaurant in Chinatown, NEVER! That is all.

Everyone in Chinatown knows that this place suck. Been here many many time years ago. Dim sum, dinner, and weddings. Gave it another try recently. You know what? It’s worst now. Foods is bad. Service is typical Chinatown style. Décor is dreadful. Avoid this place!

Another Dim Sum place but at least this one is on the ground floor and they’re priced reasonably. Another thing is that I would actually come here for is its noodles during lunch(but not dinner… if you’ve been reading my Dim Sum place reviews, thats an inside joke). They make excellent stir fry especially for a banquet style restaurant. I actually like the taste of their Dim Sum over the majority of other places. Do give them a try if you have a chance. Service is usually very fast and get a waiter is usually easier as well.

My friend had her wedding reception here last week and it was your TYPICALCHINESEBANQUET reception. The décor is nothing special – BORDERLINETACKY. There is a LARGESTAGE as well as a DECENTSIZEDDANCEFLOOR. FOOD was DECENT but nothing out of the ordinary. I felt that the SERVERS really RUSHED us to eat. They probably came within 5 minutes of us getting the dish to allot the rest before the next dish arrived. The last 4 – 5 dishes came on a whirlwind so we had a huge pile of food on the table to choose from. Not complaining but the timing was non-traditional I guess. One«server» gave ATTITUDE to a friend who asked for water, saying that he was not the server and just rushed off. How rude! Also, the restaurant does give off a «not so clean» vibe Lastly, the red bean soup was served in styrofoam cups. That’s a first and probably the end of our grand harmonious meal.

This place has been around for as long as I can remember and I’ve always had dim sum here. I came here recently with my family for dim sum and it was just as I remembered. Yes, this place needs a good cleaning and renovation, but it gives this place character. Yes, the bathrooms needs to be cleaned/renovated really badly, but that’s typical Chinese for you. The food was just as good as I remembered from coming here in years past. You don’t come here for good service. You come here for the food. So don’t come here expecting someone to be nice to you. You won’t get that so get that out of your mind. The dishes are authentic chinese style dim sum and you can’t go wrong. There is a wait for a table so be sure to come early or come on a weekday.
