Sunday afternoon bite. Stopped by because my favorite neighborhood ramen joint was closed, and the wait at The Smith was too long. But this was probably where I should have started. As soon as we walked in we were seated at a nice table by the window(practically on the sidewalk, but completely insulated from it). The waiter was quick to take our order: two glasses of wine, a Ceaser salad and the catch of the day(a seared halibut with mushrooms and truffle butter). The food was fresh, perfectly seasoned and just the right size. We were eating light, but our waiter didn’t push us too hard to order more food. Perfect Sunday lunch. Years ago I dined next door at Smith & Wollensky’s and was somewhat underwhelmed by the steak and the stuffy atmosphere. I had a much more enjoyable experience at the Grill.

Went for dinner. I had the filet which was cooked perfect and my spouse had the grilled pork chop(on a special menu) and it was cooked with peppers on top and very tasty. We shared potatoes au gratin which also was very good and followed that up with the chocolate mousse dessert. A very good dinner with excellent service.

Still going strong, the more casual, relaxed back bar of Smith and Wollensky’s still delivers a top quality meal and still invaluably serves late into the evening. A Colorado Ribeye, at $ 58, was perfectly cooked to the ordered medium rare and was a really high-quality and satisfying cut. Asparagus was steamed to the right point to retain crispness and the hashbrowns(which I would describe as finely diced home fries instead of the shredded potatoes I nornally define as hashbrowns) had the right level of crunch. A nice selection of half bottles of wine made beverage selection easy, but draft beer prices are inflated here. Try and get a seat in the cozy and classic main bar area, but the three season sun porch where I was seated was fine and provided a nice view of the local streetscape. Stopping this place from being five stars are several correctable hiccups in service. I might have caught the hostess on a break, but the 5 to 10 minute delay in being greeted should never occur when that level of staffing is provided. One idle waiter alerted to the delay simply told me to wait instead of working to correct the problem with several other hovering waiters. Other waiters were texting on their phones. Some interactions with customers, including me, were a little too informal and jocular for this old-school stalwart. To be fair, these are relatively minor things that did not significantly detract from the meal, and are misdemeanors committed by countless restaurants. Plus, the persons I observed were younger people who did not wear the classic jacket that the seasoned waiters do, so some learning may need to occur. But these types of behaviors would never be accepted in the main restaurant, where service is so professional. I would recommend that ownership conduct a service audit to identify and correct these issues.

The daytime version of the established Wollensky Chop House in the same building. Veal Chop, perfect… Lemon-Pepper chicken, HUGEWHOLE chicken!!! Loved the atmosphere and location.

Yesterday, I sat down to enjoy my $ 44 steak {$ 55 with tax and tip added} only to look up and see a man sitting next to me in a white undershirt. Not a T-shirt, which would have been pathetic enough, but an undershirt. Added to the ensemble was a pair of tan sandals, black socks, and a pair of shorts. He didn’t bother to tuck in his undershirt either. I guess that small gesture would have made him uncomfortable. This ‘outfit’ would hardly be appropriate for bumming around in one’s living room. I understand that the old days of ‘jacket and tie required’ are long gone, but this was too much. Patrons have no right to expect white linen service if they insist on dressing like shit.

Just as good as its big brother Smith & Wollensky. If you’re not up for a full blown steakhouse meal but want all of the steakhouse flavor while enjoying cocktails, this is the spot.

The food was wonderful! We were VERY disappointed in our service, we had to ask for refills on water, no bread was brought to our table, we specified up front how the checks should be split, then when he did not separate it correctly he told us we should have told him up front. We explained we did and he walked away shaking his head. We were also charged for the rotten potato we were served. Not the service you expect for a meal at this price. Gratuity was added to our bill or he would not have gotten the tip he received. We had to talk to the manager to adjust and we had already waited too long to settle the bill.

Close your eyes in anything but steak. Stuff MUST present the steak cut to you before cooking, which only happened once in our observation, but the guy who has ordered it, obviously knew what he was doing, so go it the proper way. Stuff is loud, pushy. Stressing clients to order, or to finish their meals, on my witness, served the wrong order to a table and then went around with plates, couldn’t find a table, who’s order it was. food went back to the kitchen. then same waiter loudly, so everyone around heard him too, asked clients if they were done with their food and if they would want it to be wrapped to take away to their hotel. to which the clients replied they live in NYC. But that didn’t stop the attack, so the waiter said: I hear the ACCENT(!!) so where you guys from? To add, himself probably not so long ago out of the immigration office. Rest of food– mediocre. My chicken club was cooked to death, «famous» pea soup wasn’t soup at all but a thick pure, and, for those who doesn’t appreciate bacon in their diet, it had plenty of it. though the waiter said it was made only pees and veggies. Burnt oil fried onion and zucchini, no flavor soft shell crab. profiterole dessert was rather 3 days old shell. with nice Brookline made ice in it and no way«hot» chocolate souce. This place makes 25 mln a year, so most of it made on their steaks and ribs. Will come to dine at the main place, which has all proper menu, so, hopefully, not the same waiters around.

Went for lunch early Saturday. It was quiet and somewhat accommodating as we had the two year old in tow. The service was prompt. I had the lobster roll which tasted fresh with nice flavor. The Mrs. had the wollensky burger that was not as good as she remembered. Everyone, especially the little one, enjoyed the fries which accompanied our sandwiches.

Amazing dinner with exceptional service. We started with the lobster as an appetizer. Beautifully displayed and perfectly done. The Cajun Marinated rib steak is deserving of it’s reputation. One is enough for two people. It was better than I cook at home. And I cook a mean steak. The waiter, Will, was very professional and helped choose a wine we might like. He picked a nice pinot noir we were both happy with.(Bonus for the ladies… he also has the most gorgeous, well-groomed beard.) Will also brought, without our asking, a coconut cake for us to share and Sambuca for the coffee. I can’t say enough about the service. I’ve been places where the food was amazing, but the service left something to be desired and I wouldn’t go back. Wollensky Grill does it right. All of it.

A great place for a quick bite. Walk-ins are welcome. I had the horseshoe sandwich. The horseshoe sandwich is sliced filet mignon with sauté onions and cheese on a roll. The lobster roll is great. The surf and turf combo. A casual atmosphere. Great food like the parent restaurant.

Great service. Waiters never rush you. Very accommodating to what you want on or of your food. Open very late and they don’t turn you way just because it’s five minutes to Closing time. Also there steak temperatures are pretty accurate and there food taste great. One of the best places to go

Unacceptable for the prices. Caesar salad was lunchroom quality(see photo). Calamari was only rings despite being told otherwise. They were clearly frozen and came out greasy, chewy and had parmesan cheese on them(WTF? If you are going to do something stupid like that then put it on the menu so people know). Even though they offer you the menu for the main restaurant, if you order something the waiter says«we can do that for you.» — why are you doing me a favor? It’s on the menu! Burger was dry though cooked well. No bacon, grilled onions or anything on that $ 17.50 burger. Hash Browns way TOOSALTY. No bread basket. $ 10 Guinness(record high). No good beers on tap — not even a Bass or another classic. If you want an IPA a Lagunitas bottle is $ 9. Waiter had a dirty hand cast and insisted on shaking everyone’s hand — gross. He was also a flake. Porterhouse was tasty but«for two» was more like for one and a half. Too many good places for steak for this place to make the short list.

Came to check this place out after a Knicks game and all I can say is Excellent. Service was amazing the moment my wife and I walked in. Manager Justin was very pleasant, made sure to check in and make sure everything was going smooth, and the attention to detail on his behalf along with the team made the place a wonderful visit. Ribeye is succulent, huge, flavorful, delicious, and jut truly exquisite. Best steak in NY ! We had the Hash browns and creamy spinach due to their recommendations by the waiter and manager. Excellent compliments to the steak. Both sides were delicious. Will come again and rave about this place to everyone !

Have had business lunches here a number of times. Can get crowded really quickly but they are very consistent. I love the Wollensky Burger, the fries are fantastic and go really good with(must ask) their mustard. The meat they use is very high quality, don’t be scared to order it rare. Last time, went with my associate and tried the shrimp cocktail. Comes with traditional cocktail and a ginger/wasabi sauce, really good. The fried calamari isn’t too heavily breaded and the it’s cooked excellent. For main courses, she got the lobster salad. It’s a very pretty dish. If you’re looking for lobster with a healthy note, great choice. I went with the roast beef hash. This will get you very full but it’s a great power comfort lunch.

Came here for dinner. Great steak! Cajun ribeye was the definitely the best. I ordered lobster roll for myself but ended up eating my bf’s Cajun ribeye. My friends also got the Cajun ribeye and they loved it so much they were literally eating off the bone. The lobster roll was fresh, but had too much mayo for my liking and the buns weren’t grilled with butter like you’d get at Luke’s Lobster. We also ordered a couple of sides — garlic grilled asparagus, fried onion rings, creamed spinach and an appetizer of Caesar salad to share. We asked them to split the Caesar salad into three portions which came out to just the right amount. Service was great and the waiter even brought out two free desserts on the house — coconut cake and cheesecake which were both delicious. I don’t usually like coconut but the cake was amazing! My bf’s a regular for lunch, but we will be back for more dinners so I can have more of that juicy, mouthwatering Cajun ribeye!

My husband’s been here several times and loves it so after work last Thursday, we decided to stop by. We only had to wait 20 minutes for a table since we didn’t have a reservation. They have a lively bar scene with a mostly after work crowd so we didn’t mind the wait. Our waiter, Jason, was fantastic! We had the pea soup(so good!) and the Montauk Pearl oysters which were a smash… the Kushi oysters, not so great that night. Hubby had the Colorado Ribeye which had great, dry age flavor and was massive. I had the steak sandwich which was tender and I had to take half home — it was huge as well. We also had the Mac n cheese which was scrumptious!!! Overall, great place to go that is pretty laid back and chill with great steak if that’s what your looking for!

Had lunch here a few times. The host is over-the-top gracious. My buddy thinks he can be a bit of a tool but I kinda like his man’s man solid handshake, pat on the back, ingratiating ways. Anyway, the burger is awesome but you have to try the«Horseshoe» sandwich. Don’t worry — this isn’t a sandwich made from Aqueduct’s or Meadowlands racetrack’s losers cooked up the next day. Instead, it’s the very best cheesesteak you’ll ever have! Can’t wait to have another soon !
