This bar is best during really busy times and not much past 10PM. I don’t blame them for wanting to close early if the place is empty at 9:30 — 10PM. It’s a beautiful bar with a great location. I am usually not there at happy hour so I’m sure it has a lot more business at lunch and happy hour. The bartenders are very professional but the TIPISINCLUDED in the check… no matter what the amount.

My husband and I are staying at the Marriott this weekend and decided to check out the Buffet. It was TERRIBLE! The $ 34/person buffet had very little to choose from and what was there was not appetizing. The French toast was cold and hard, eggs were watery and unseasoned, and the pastries dry and stale. We both ended up just eating a bowl of cereal and our bill was $ 84.24 which included a $ 10 service fee for the one cup of coffee and orange juice delivered to our table. DONOT eat at the hotel Buffett, you will regret it just like we did.

The bar was pretty good. Pricy, but nothing more than what you would expect in the city. I tried the strawberry cupcake cocktail and it was well worth it. It tasted like a really fresh summer drink. We went back in the evening for convenience since I was staying at the hotel, and decided to order food. The lobster sliders were not that great. You could tell that it was made from packaged or canned lobster. However, the soft shell crab po’boy was delicious! I probably wouldn’t have ordered it if I didn’t see one being made on food network that morning, but the creaminess of the avocado with the crisp soft shell crab made for a winner! I was craving another one the next day!

Awful. Served a cob salad with rotted corn. We also ordered the roasted turkey club and the roasted turkey turned out to be plain old bland processed turkey. And not even Boars Head. My crispy French fries were limp. They couldn’t even get that right. Staying in Marriott where this restaurant is and thankfully management did the right thing with my bill. Tons of places to eat on the east side. Avoid this one.

Great, nice, upscale place for after work drinks. Expensive drinks, but nice for post work meeting.

I came here as possibly meeting up with someone who had event nearby and there was a Scoutmob deal. I also read New York Times article about Marriott hotels spending money to revamp hotel bars. First is the same problem I have with hotel lobby bars is that they are in lobby so dealing with seeing lobby. There is no separation between bar and hotel entrance which on this cold night meant frequent rushes of cold breezes as hotel guest went through regular doors. If ignore lobby part bar looks nice as they have aclighted bar which requires one to read menu in air as laying on bar is hard as other side of menu shows through. I liked the enclosed booths as came with. Personal TV so nice if hanging out with group of friends who want to catch that nights game. Sadly one can see breakfast Buffett easily which ruins ambience. Menu was mix of bar food and attempts at nicer hotel food entrees. I had the arugula and apple salad which was nice as apples tasted fresh and there was ample pecans and cheese. The shrimp pizza was more a shrimp salad with mâché greens on a thin crust bread with onions. It tasted fine though wish described better. Decent selection of draft beers as there are ten on draft though obvious focus on InBev beers as 2 of the«craft«beers were goose island which is owned by InBev which also own bud light and Stella which also were on tap. At 9 dollars a beer likely not to return as local unless get small group to watch game in booths.

AWESOME Lobster Mac & Cheese! I was staying at the nearby Waldorf=Astoria and met a friend at this Marriott Eastside bar/restaurant to check it out. I had an amazing dish with large chunks of lobster and rich mac & cheese. We ate in the bar area, and it’s a casual area with a bit of sports bar vibe. Drinks are typical prices for the area, and they have a selection of draft beers also.

I hate this hotel. Hate it! I’ve stayed here for a total of two weeks over various trips and would go to great lengths to not stay here again. That being said, I think their bar is fantastic. Great service and an above average scotch selection(hence my four stars). Their selection of balvenie’s is more extensive than any other hotel bar I’ve visited. Mind you this review is not for the hotel, the food at the bar, or for the mixed drinks. But if you’re stuck in this hotel or in one of the hotels nearby and you want a nice selection of scotch-you needn’t travel further.

Hotel bar at the Marriott Eastside. Was certainly not expecting my drink in a Mason jar. But it was nicely made and tasty. We sat at the bar and my BF asked for a certain bourbon for us Manhattan nwhen they didn’t have quite enough for a full drink, they gave him what they had neat and then made the drink with an alternative. All in all a decent hotel bar. Note. Gratuity is automatically added to the bill.

As a Marriott member, I was offered a free dinner during the restaurant preview. I submitted my honest feedback to the restaurant and hope they make some of the changes. The restaurant is new and located in the NY Marriott East Side. I entered through the restaurant only entrance on Lexington. As the restaurant was in previews, there wasn’t yet a host/hostess stand and I stood in the bar/lounge area a little awkwardly until a waiter approached to seat me. We were told to choose our own seats. I have since commented on this but — the lights were OFF in the dining part of the restaurant. I don’t know why because it wasn’t «dimly lit» for atmosphere but instead dark. As such, we chose the table closest to the front area for a little light Food: We began with the shrimp flatbread and the burrata(tomato and basil). The flatbread was great but because of the large amount of cheese, the bread was very thin and it had to be eaten with a knife(I would call it «messy»). As for the burrata, the cheese wasn’t as soft as I have previously had but the tomatoes were fantastic(so good). For our meal, we tried the torn pasta(no shrimp) with vegetables. The pasta was good(though the eggplant too bitter — I’d sub another vegetable) but a little bland. Some spices were needed. The burger with cheese and onions was standard. The sweet potato fries stood out more than the burger. Portion sizes were all good so far. Dessert: Portion sizes are HUGE. The apple crumb was decent. Slightly overcooked and the vanilla ice cream(maybe vanilla bean) was WAY too sweet. It ruined the natural flavor. STANDOUT of the meal was the lemon meringue with nilla wafers in a mason jar. Way too much food but it was AWESOME. So great. As for service, they were all very nice. But some training could be given so when a question about a menu item is asked, the answer will provide more insight than what is written in the menu(I can read myself). And, the busboy, while attentive, was too quick to clear plates(while half of the party is still eating and when some plates still have food on them) from the table. Overall — this has promise for a good place to go for drinks, appetizers and dessert(the lemon meringue is that good). I will try it again the future. And hopefully you do too.
