I used to come here all the time during the summer. I live near by and it was my favorite spot to indulge with friends after long day. It was such great place — nice food, nice wine, nice atmosphere, nice service. Can’t understand why they closed.

I’ve come here twice with a good friend of mine and we have had a great time sitting in the window, drinking bottles of wine, munching on delicious cheeses and cheesy breads while catching up on life and all of its wonders. It’s romantic and sweet with a name perfectly fitting because we drink all of the wine when we come here.

THISPLACEISCLOSED. This was one of my favorite places in the city, and I would buy the LivingSocial coupon every time it came up, since it was a great discount. I just went on Friday to use my most recent one and was told(by the owner of the place next door where we ended up going) that the place had just closed on Monday. It’s a real shame, since they had a huge wine list and really good tapas-style food. Just beware, since their website is still up and Google still shows them as being open, but the place is shut down. A sad day, and I wish the owners the best in what they do next.

Food is overpriced and small portions IMHO. Wine is pretty good, most glasses start at 10.00, cool ambiance and outdoor seating.

I was out with two friends and after the first two places we tried had a very long wait, we ended up at Winebar. Once we were there, I realized i have passed by this place before and have been curious about it. Anyway! We were told it wouldn’t be too long of a wait for a table but we could cut the waiting time by sitting at the bar. So we did. I prefer to sit at a table especially when with more than one person, but as it turned out we were fairly comfortable and able to talk pretty easily. I had a glass of Chenin Blanc. It was good. I also shared the Flatbread Formaggio with one of my friends. It was delicious! The bartender was very friendly and hospitable and even filled our glasses a little higher near the end of the night(without charging us). Nice, lively place! I’d come back in the winter and I’m sure it’s really fun in the warmer weather since they have outdoor tables.

They get 2 stars for their extensive wine list but that’s it. The service here extremely lacking and there is no wonder why they are struggling. I will not be returning.

I recently had dinner here with friends. The cost is more on the pricier side but I actually would give this place a 3.5 rating. They have a very extensive wine menu which was great cause we had so many options. We enjoyed every wine that we ordered from the menu. They have the wine sorted by country. We asked our server for recommendations and we liked everything he suggested. The food was a lot better than I expected it to be. Their flatbreads are huge. It says for 2 people but if you’re ordering other things, chances are you won’t finish it. We had 3 people and we couldn’t finish all the food we ordered. We had an entrée but I can’t remember what we had(bad memory, unfortunately): Flatbread(due to bad memory, I cannot remember which one we ordered but I just remember all of us saying it was good!) Burger Trio Sampler: Salmon, Lamb, Beef: We were so full so we didn’t enjoy it as much as we could have but it was decent, nothing to rave about though. We had croquettes: The sampler with 2 of every option(6 in total) and we ordered another plate of spinach croquettes cause they were SUPERSUPER good. That was my favorite out of everything we ate that night.

This place gets 2 stars: one for location and one for ambiance. But that’s where it ends. While one of our servers was attentive, the one who actually took our order was clueless about the product they are selling. Another outright lied to us about the quality of the wine. Their wine list at first looks impressive and is organized nicely by country of origin, but the wines by the glass are nothing to write home about. I first wanted to try the SanGiovese and my girlfriend wanted to try the Pinot Nero. Both were horrible and unbalanced. Then, I got the Tempranillo and she got something else. If you think you know anything about wine, but likely know nothing, you would probably have liked these. But a closer examination revealed that my wine was uninspiring and watery, with one layer, and hers was full of sediment that should have been filtered out before pouring(especially at $ 18/glass). Overall, it was amateur hour at this place. If you like wine, I would avoid because you’re not going to get anything with character here.

My boyfriend and I are regulars here. We come almost every two weeks, they know us very well. We have been loyal customers for almost 3 years now and they treat us so well! It’s our go to place for wine and small plates. It’s a very lovely environment and amazing staff, great selection of food and wine. One of the bar staffs is so great to us he knows our taste so well, he always makes us try a new bottle every time we visit and he has not disappointed us. I have to say I’m a little disappointed on how low the reviews are at this place. I honestly think it’s underrated. I would highly recommend this place for first dates or just dates, very dark and romantic and the whole candle light theme.

I’ve been here a few times for wine and for apps with friends. I typically come when it is warm since they have outdoor seating and if I am wanting to stay in the East Village area. I would come back to sit outside and sip on wine and have some apps on a casual night in the EV. But if I am making a plan ahead of time with friends, I would head elsewhere since this place isn’t too special and the prices are right up there with other restaurants. RESTAURANTOVERVIEW: –Very dim inside –High rise tables with high stools –Small space –Outdoor seating area out front when it’s warm DRINKS: –Sauvignon Blanc(the one from France — they have a few versions): I loved this! Is it very light, not tart at all and just overall very smooth. I loved it! My waiter suggested it after I told him what kind of wine I prefer. –I’ve had a few other wines here and they have all been good. The wait staff has also always been very helpful in choosing wine. APPS: –Flat Bread Formaggio: This was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. –Flat Bread Onions Mergue: I liked this flat bread better than the one above! It was much more flavorful. *1 flat bread is TOTALLY enough for two people to split. We had a bunch of food left over ordering two! SERVICE: –They need to have more than 1 waiter on nights that are busy. He was great at suggesting what to get, but then he was nowhere to be found after we got our food. So when we were done, we waited for a while until we were finally flag him down for our check. I think they just need more help on nights that aren’t slow.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars! I love this place and am thrilled that I finally stopped by after walking by it every night after work. For me, the service is the best part. They are so friendly and accommodating. You just feel really comfortable there. I have been there several times since. We are usually there for drinks a maybe a small bite. It’s one of the few spaces in the East Village that has outdoor seating, a GREAT wine list, excellent service and good food. You can find some of these things at a few places, but Winebar has them all. I love that they have so many wines available by the glass. And they offer some really interesting choices. I haven’t tried a lot of their food, but we did try the charcuterie & cheese tray, and it was perfect. The breads and other pairings were perfects for pairing and we couldn’t finish it all. Try this spot!

Really great place. Came with a groupon and it was well worth it. This place is worth it without the groupon. Had the sorbets which was absolutely divine, especially the black currant one. Also had the lobster croquettes which were delicious. For drinks my friend and I had the cava sparkling wine and the Sauvon blanc. This place is a nice little piece of wine heaven.

Went just for the wine selection and boy they did not disappoint. So many different types of wine separated by region. My date and I got a bottle of the french Riesling and it crisp and delicious! The waiter was extremely helpful and attentive. He also suggested a french red(third one down from the menu) which I loved. Definitely coming back here. The ambiance was very intimate. It was dark inside and I laughed when the waiter held up the candle light to see the menu. Loved it!

I had a great meal here with two friends of mine. It was one of the first warm nights of the season and sitting outside was on all our minds. Wine Bar had just what we were looking for. The wine list is really extensive, with Italian, French, Spain, and World sections. My friends stuck to something basic and dry from south Africa that they really liked, and I drank a nice Hefeweizen. They don’t have a printed beer menu, so listen carefully when you’re waiters going down the list for ya! Their online menu is a little different from the menu we saw this weekend. I didn’t see the mushroom toastada, but they did have an avocado, lime, chili flake toast that was absolutely amazing. Creamy, a little spicy, on soft but sturdy flat bread. The mini burger sliders(you get 2) were also melt in your mouth amazing, with cheese and caramelized onions. Both them and the mussels come with these crispy potatoes with a sort of cheesy dressing. I ordered the skirt steak with potatoes. It comes in a gravy, was cooked nicely, though it didn’t blow me away. The mussels were also OK, though they need more broth in the bowl. Service was fine, prices were fair. I’d come back for sure.

Cute place, good wine and attentive waitstaff. I’m sold. I went here on a Thursday afternoon. Very romantic inside, would love to go on a date here. The staff was attentive, knowledgable and helpful with our needs. I cannot give my opinion on any of the main dishes, but I did indulge in a few appetizers which were wonderful.

Alright, if you live in my neighborhood of Rego Park, Queens, you would know that the«Monday Night» is a bit limited to a few places, namely Tropix and Sato. So in an effort to expand my culinary horizons and my ever expanding love for wine, what better way than to explore sone of the cities popular WINEBARS. I say it in plural because the 65 Wine bar I went to was down the block from 76 wine bar. There are numerous wine bars spread around the city, as I was told. Anyway, the place boasts a very romantic atmosphere, suitably for your loved one or a good starter for any first date. The wine menu, as you might guess, is extensive, featuring wines from all over the world. The two small plates were amazing and unforgettable. The flat bread formaggio was a thin crust pizza reminiscent of a margherita pizza. We also had the burger trio, which were on the pricier side, but totally worth it. Try those specifically. I loved them, the wife loved them too. The food paired well with wine from Spain of which I have forgotten the name, but it did give me a small buzz. Check in on Unilocal to get a discount or grab a Living social deal, to check it out. But yea, this place, I shall return, hopefully with more company in tow.

So the 2 stars are mainly just for the service. There’s definitely something missing here. Although they have an intensive wine selection my cousin and I both picked different styles of wine. She wanted something semi sweet and I wanted a blend full bodied and yet we both tasted each other’s wine and it tasted exactly the same. We paired our cheese plate with the wine which was Spain cheeses. They were all okay. One reminded me of manchego but I think it was goats milk. The cheese late comes with 4 pieces of cheese, few slices of baguette, jam, and grapes. There was a very odd taste from the grapes like they weren’t washed or something. I just feel bad because our waiter was so friendly and helpful in making our selection but we just didn’t enjoy ourself. I had a groupon so I only paid $ 29 for the food and wine but that’s with groupon plus taxes and tip… So I think that’s a lot for the bare minimum we got.

Bravo Winebar! You have taken drinking a glass of wine with friends and transformed it into a form of art. Initially I had never heard of Winebar nor was I aware that such hidden gems were available in New York City. I stumbled upon a deal on Groupon for $ 40’s worth of appetizers or drinks at this bar and went with a friend to check out the place later that evening. Now, when you walk in the lighting is dim(at least at night) and the wooden décor makes you feel as if you’re transported elsewhere far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I was sold as soon as I took in the décor and ambiance of the place. Honestly, this would be a great date night spot to take your guy/girl and really just enjoy a glass of wine and good conversation. Once my friend and I were seated we were immediately given menus, one for wine and one for food. The wine menu was broken out by country, for example Spain, Italy, and France, with a map of the country and a breakdown of the grapes that make up each wine. It was so much to take in since each list consisted of your reds, whites, and roses. Luckily, the waiter(I wish I remembered his name) at Winebar was not only extremely attentive, but very knowledgeable with the wine list. He was able to recommend a couple of good choices for us and describe what went into making some of these certain choices unique from the rest. I chose a glass of a Merlot from Spain, while my friend chose an Italian Pinot Nero. For appetizers we decided to split an Italian cheese platter, which had three sharp cheeses along with a creamy one, and sliders. Personally, I am not a big fan of creamy cheeses thus I made sure to ask our waiter what cheese platter he recommended. I strayed from Spain and France since I love sharp cheeses, especially with my wine. Perfect combination. The small burgers were cooked to perfection, juicy, and brought a long a side of my favorite, patatas bravas. The wine menu’s variety, attentive service, and overall ambiance will keep me going back to Winebar time and time again.
