«King of the Castle» I love Wine Castle. Not only are they open late but they DELIVER until Midnight on most nights! They have a huge selection and you can view their options on their handy website. Ordering is available through their site too, but I find calling them directly is a bit quicker. They take credit cards over the phone and include a detailed receipt with your order. I have found with most«Booze Delivery Apps/Stores» the delivery time is longer than expected. Wine Castle is incredibly fast! Making sure you’ve got that bottle of wine for a last minute date, or a liter of Vodka for those uninvited party guests. I’ve stopped in the store multiple times on my walk home and they are nice as can be! A tiny shop with a large inventory. I have found the prices to be lower than most of the places in the area which is refreshing to find on the border of the Upper East Side. They also offer discounts on multiples of wine.

Awful customer service… I’ve been ordering for delivery above 100th street for 2 years and spent at least $ 2k at this establishment and they decide to deny delivery until the store closes at 11:30 pm, after ordering at 8:30 pm. Poor customer service. Furthermore, They are typically out of core white wines(Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc) and I regularly accept a substitution. In return for my flexibility on each order, they treat their loyal customer with no consideration. Completely unacceptable business practice and very poor customer service. I do not recommend this establishment for any booz purchase… maybe I should’ve used a valu-pak coupon and walked in for better treatment.

I always order from then, I love them and their prices. They always substitute the wine, beer or liquor that they r out off for the same price or cheaper as u originally planned on ordering. And have I mentioned super fast delivery.

Small wine store way up on the UES. Layout is tight and many bottles are on high shelves out of arm’s reach. Prices also seem to be a bit all over the place here. But staff is friendly and will talk to you about different wines and help guide you to a choice. Also, they keep pretty late hours and will deliver too! Not a bad option if it is late and you need to pick up a bottle for a dinner or party.

Not a bad spot as they have wine tasting event on a monthly… I been here 2x and of course its always wine related; although I get to taste some food as well. Very cool and staffs are friendly… I get my buzzed on here, and I always walked out of here with my cherry Asian glow. Yes, I been drinking? Who would have thought but that I been in the sun too long. Hhaa Come join me here on another occasion for tasting. Thanks to all those who joined me the last 2. Cheers to you!

I stopped in here the other day because I just happened to be in the neighborhood. Not! Haha, actually a friend was wearing the sommelier hat so I thought why not stop by for some free wine. The owner was in as well, and he talked on and on about different types of wines, what makes some sparkling, where the different berries are from, and what a Tampanillo is. Not bad an in depth course in the varieties of wines, and catch a buzz early on Saturday. Thx JL for the tip!

There is no shortage of places to get wine & liquor in the area, so I was a little surprised when this place opened up a few blocks north of the huge Mr. Wright store. This is a small shop and accordingly the selection is small compared to some of the larger places in the neighborhood. It took me a few visits to figure out the organization of where the wines I liked are. So when is this place my go-to? Well, it open later than other places in the neighborhood — I think until 11:30 most nights. Heading to a party and didn’t have time to pick up a bottle earlier in the day? Wine Castle is open. Need delivery? Wine Castle does it and takes orders online(through ) and will be at your place promptly. If they don’t have the wine you selected online, they call you and provide you with other options(and not in the shady upselling wayl — they tell you which wines, in the same region and type, at the same price that they have). So while places in the area have larger selections and continue to be my top picks, Wine Castle definitely fills a neighborhood need.

A new wine store around the corner, throw in a coupon and I am all about trying it. But, now that my coupon is gone so am I. I wouldn’t have named this place Wine Castle its much more of a Wine Closet. But, while very small the inside is actually very nice. My biggest problem with this place and the reason I wont go back is the organization of wine. All the bottles are individually priced so you have to check each bottle to see what the price is. Its annoying when you don’t know the exact bottle you want. But, what really makes it bad is the fact that they have over half of their selection on top shelves, completely out of reach.

I was so excited to have a new wine store so close to my house and even more ecstatic when I figured out they carried my favorite wine! When I purchased my first bottle, the man behind the desk couldn’t get the bottle to scan so he threw a number out there of 9.99. Perfect, it’s a dollar cheaper than down the street. So I thought I had found my new wine place! A few days later, a friend and I went down to pick up another bottle of the same wine. Today we were charged 10.99. Ok, it’s the same price as down the street, but this place is way more convenient, so it’s still great! Last evening, I went down again to pick up another bottle just to have for when guests come later in the week. I pick the bottle up off of the shelf and see a sticker staring back at me that reads 14.99. I raise my eyebrows and ask the man behind the desk if this bottle is in fact priced right. He said that it was. Now, I’m not one to argue about this sort of stuff but I brought to their attention that maybe they should reconsider that price especially because their competitors are offering it for 4 dollars cheaper(and I was told by Wine Castle to compare prices when I walked in the door). The man told me that I must be the one confusing the wines I’m drinking, and that there is no way they could charge that price. As someone who is a loyal drinker of this particular wine, I know the price and also know what I drink. I don’t confuse that stuff. I was particularly put off by the way they handled this situation. If I just started a new business out there, I would’ve welcomed this sort of information and sought out a better solution rather than offending a customer who will now never return.
