‘wichcraft stand inside the library I’m specifically talking about the ‘wichcraft inside the library by Astor Hall. They have some pasties, fresh fruit and drinks. I mostly go there to support the library, figuring that they get some cut of the profits. Neither the almond croissant nor the muffin I got there were very good and they charge prices aimed at tourists. So on balance, it seems like I should stop going there.

Quick and simple place to grab a sandwich or coffee — standing and sitting tables behind the space, and all of Bryant Park, too, of course. Service was brusque and straighforward. The hot chocolate tasted like something they just dropped powder into and didn’t mix much — heavy bitter at the bottom/end.

I used to work in the area and always would pass by the stand. I went to their pop-up stand during the Winter Village in Bryant Park recently and am glad I didn’t depend on this place for lunch. I ordered the Gruyère on multigrain. They were out of regular bread and I substituted it with multigrain. I like multigrain and was happy to have ordered, I wish they had something on their signage that indicated there were other options for bread because if they weren’t out of regular white bread I wouldn’t have known otherwise. The Gruyère sandwich was okay. It really lacked having some kind of dressing on it and ended up coming off dry. The flavor wasn’t bold. For an artisanal grilled cheese kind of sandwich is was pretty disappointing.

Terrible microwaved cooked sandwiches. Surly inarticulate service. Over priced. A step up from ordering at a dirty bodega and eating on the street.

I tried the frozen yogurt at Bryant Park in the NW quadrant. I selected the vanilla with coconuts and pineapples which is suggested on the menu board. It was alright. All frozen yogurt tastes the same to me. Easy access to something cold on a hot Labor Day worked out just fine.

Spoiler alert — The sandwiches were all cold even though it said roasted. Didn’t really like the sandwich itself either(roasted turkey) for $ 10. Iced cappuccino could’ve been done much better — it was a shot dropped in iced water

Was really debating between 2 and 3 stars on this place. Overall, not great. I was looking for something quick to eat in Bryant Park and I figured a Tom Colicchio endeavor would probably be a safe bet. I ordered the ½ soup and sandwich combo with gazpacho and chicken salad. I completely understand that this is a high volume operation coming out of a tiny space, but I really just felt like my sandwich was slapped together with absolutely no ‘craft’ put into it. Big soggy mound of flavorless kohlrabi paired with a tiny amount of chicken salad that seemed to be lacking a number of the ingredients that were on the menu(still not sure there was even one walnut in there…). That being said, I pushed them up to 3 stars because of the soup. The gazpacho was flavorful and a great part of my meal in a summer day. Plus the croutons/breadsticks were delicious. Overall, it’s probably not enough to get me to go back but if I were in the mood for some soup again, I would consider ‘wichcraft.

Great place to grab a sandwich and a drink and do some serious people watching. We were in town to go to the theater and stopped in for lunch — all outside seating, we tried the grilled cheese, chickpea hummus sandwich and ham and cheddar — all were very good. They have a number of sides and drinks to go with your meal.

DONOT. I REPEATDONOTORDERTHEGRILLCHEESEANDTOMATOESOUPFROMHERE!!! Decided to be spontaneous and wandered across the street to Bryant Park for a nice lunch. It was a bit gloomy out so I figured a nice grill cheese and soup would be perfect for this weather… Boy was I wrong… First off the grill cheese was not even crispy! Poorly toasted with little to no butter! The cheddar was barely there and didn’t have the beautiful cheese string when I pulled it a part. I mean these are all important aspect of a good grill cheese people! Finally the soup tasted like a can soup. Though it did have a lot body and texture, the taste was too salty/bold. It overpowered the sandwich and I just wasn’t able to finish it by itself. Tom Colicchio… I’m very disappointed in you. Oh btw, this horrible meal cost me 10 bucks –_–

This is not a bad lunch spot on a nice day with good weather. Cons: Food was just ok, nothing to write much about. I had the potato soup which was good and the chickpea hummus sandwich which I regretted. The bread tasted stiff and stale. Pros: Right in Bryant Park so great location. Came for the atmosphere and meeting with a friend. It’s a good spot for when you’re hungry and you want to stay outside. Also the cheaper option compared to the outdoor restaurant also in Bryant park. Would come back but works prefer to get take our somewhere more interesting and sit in the park. Not a bad experience but nothing crazy great.

Bryant Park is one of my favorite spots in NYC. After hitting up Kinokuniya for some snacks, we stopped off here for food. I got the veggie sandwich, and while what was inside wasn’t bad, the bread was lack luster. For $ 11 I expected a little better, but what can you do.

I actually didn’t try the stands that are normally in Bryant Park, but instead ventured off to the«Grilled Cheese Stand» that’s at the south-west corner of the park. I ordered the gruyère and onions grilled cheese, and it was definitely good and flavorful, but nothing fantastic. Also, as expected, it was around $ 8.00 for something I could have made at home, and I hate buying food like that. But it was good, and a nice option if already in the park(especially on a nice day!) PS: the tomato soup looked good, but I didn’t happen to have any.

I had been to the Bryant park in winter when some friends were ice skating. Since I din know how to ice skate I was expecting the evening to be a little bore. But not only did I enjoy watching ppl ice skate, I found this nice shack! Took a hot chocolate and a tuna sandwich. I really liked both of it. Hot chocolate in the minus temperature was a blessing. Would recommend this place.

What a great little«coven» of shacks in the park, coffee, soups, sandwiches. They have good prices on beverages. And the servers are nice. But to be honest I just came here for the stunning park views and seating.

I don’t get food or drinks here often, just once in awhile. Sometimes just for a snack or some sorts. wichcraft is small so whatever you see that’s what you get, well when it comes to the pastries anyways. I wanted to try their creamwich but they didn’t have any and were told that it’s whatever they have in their pastry display. Their scones is pretty okay althought a tad dry. They only have chocolate chip scones, the chocolate bits were little tho. I mentioned that they were dry so it’s good to get a tea with it to help the scone go down easily. At least it was cheap in Manhattan standard so it’s not all bad.

Pretty average sandwiches for the price… I got a chicken salad sandwich which had walnuts, kale, and cucumbers. It’s not very big so I wasn’t completely full. Honestly the sandwich reminded me of what your mom sends you to school with in a paper bag. Don’t think it was worth the $ 10. However, I got a side salad of potato salad which I thought was delicious. If you want to pay that much and get your money’s worth, walk a couple blocks to Lex and 41st and get a Num Pang sandwich. The advantage wichcraft has is its location. Besides its convenience, I don’t see any other pluses.

A TOM colicchio sandwich kiosk that’s actually located closer to the 42nd st side of bryant park, not 40th st! i absolutely LOVE colicchio’s restaurants but the ‘wichcraft chain just didn’t meet my expectations. i know it’s meant to highlight the fresh ingredients but the food doesn’t live up to the promise —roasted turkey, bacon, & avocado sandwich: DRY from the bread to the turkey… the size was perfect for me, but for those with a larger stomach, you’ll get much more for $ 10 elsewhere –heritage ham w/poached pears & cheddar on grilled pecan cranberry bread: this one was actually a lot tastier so i say GO W/THE GRILLEDSAMMIES if you must THEN enjoy your lunch at the beautiful bryant park NOTE: they have a diff sandwich of the day while supplies last!

On a beautiful day like today, ‘wichcraft is where you should go. Located in Bryant Park, its a perfect reprieve for tourists and local 9 – 5’ers. I ordered a hot coffee to keep me awake for the day. Fine coffee, quick service(despite it being prime lunch hour aka busy as hell!) and clean! There are a couple of different«stands» to go for sandwiches/salads vs. coffee and ice cream. I think that was ingenious! I gather that the sandwich prices area bit high, but its 1) Time Square 2) hard to find another beautiful spot for lunch, 3) Colicchio’s brain child. Thanks ‘wichcraft! See you very soon!!!

Good sandwiches, great customer service. I picked up the wrong bag and was in a hurry, so I didn’t check the contents. Turned out it was not my order. Came back 45 mins later just after 7pm, and even though they were closed and packing up, they remade my order for me and apologized for the mixup, although as I told them, I’m pretty sure it was my fault. That’s what I call great service. Thanks! Oh, and I love the Smoked Ham sandwich. Mmmm, cranberry pecan bread.
