Two level Walgreens. Cosmetics are positioned in the front of the store as soon as you walk in. Helpful and polite customer service at front desk. Pharmacy and general pharmacy products are on second level. Redox and ATM(which does charge a fee) are located next to main entry way.

I will never been going back to this Walgreens. I was looking down the aisles for something, I’m not familiar with the store I usually go to CVS. The security guard followed me down each aisle checking that I was not stealing I guess, I was so uncomfortable I left the store. I’m not a theft, I’m a teacher and a mom of two. I don’t want to assume it was because I’m african-american but no one else was being followed. I’ve lived on the upper west side my whole life and have never had something like this happen. It was a horrible feeling.

Is Walgreen’s a drugstore? Not really. It never have the drugstore needs that I want. Whether I am looking for dental needs or foot lotion or whatever stuff I would want from a drugstore, they never seem to have what I want. It’s got tons of candy and junk food, but that is not what I need. And even if I do want junk food, their house brands(De-Lish and Nice!) are poor quality. And there is always a long line at checkout.

The lines in this store are always unacceptably long, and workers sometimes completely ignore customers.

HELLGREENS at the corner of stupid and incompetent Unfortunately our only alternative is Duanne GReed brought to you by Hellgreens. The chains are horrible. They have put REAL drug stores out of business and we are at their mercy. 7 and ½ hours to have much needed medication(called in by doctor!) to be delivered!

California Rolls. Walgreens has California rolls. And free chopsticks to eat said rolls. Walgreens took the«Last Ditch Office Lunch» to a whole new level. The yogurt parfait is pretty foul, so it’s not the place to throw together a breakfast. But the freezer section is a departure from picked over office pizza or Subway. Have microwave, will travel. Other than that, I come here as often as I do its sister store, Duane Reade… Hardly at all. Honestly, I haven’t been inside the store beyond the frozen food section. They aren’t known for their sales. And as a sale shopper, that’s a very important criterium for me. If I had an Android phone I might get excited that they are one of the few stores that take Google Wallet. But NFC is catching on like Laserdisc… not at all. If I were an office drone, I might get more use out of Walgreens. But I’m not, so there it is.

As with many stores in NYC, particularly the drug stores, I’ve been finding lots of revamps: cleaner aisles, better lighting, more sensible arrangement of products. This Walgreens is a prime example. In the advent of multiple Duane Reades and Walgreens being«gussied up» over the past few years(…albeit in a slower rollout in some areas…), this Walgreens is pretty tops. The top floor boasts a well — stock food and beverage section, coupled with a multitude of make-up and beauty products. The downstairs, accessible by stairs, escalators, or elevator(OHMY!), has just about everything else you could dream of: an efficient pharmacy, hair dye, Justin Bieber birthday cards, roach repellent spray, vibrating«intimacy enhancement products», and more Bounty paper towels than you can shake a stick at! As with many stores in NYC, particularly the drug stores, I’ve been finding lots of the same things… okay, namely one thing: Dismissive staff that really do not give a flying front door about you. Scan the item. Put it in the bag. Scan the item. Put it in the bag. Scan the item. Put it in the bag… and then you scan the item, and then you put it in the bag.* Little to no eye contact is ever made. Their voices are bored and monotone, but they become more lively and animated speaking with each other… when, in fact, they should be paying some of that attention to the customers at their registers. Store employees such as this are just a way of life, I suppose. As long as I can pick up a bottle of Essie nail polish, some dishwashing soap, a bottle of iron supplements, and an obscenely huge bag of M & Ms in a clean and appealing-looking place, I’ll manage. — - — - * — Oh. PLEASE. Someone. Get the random 90s cartoon reference I just made…

Open late… just what I needed when I realized I didn’t pack a toothbrush on my recent trip to NYC. Panic almost set in, but luckily Unilocal directed me to the nearest store. I was quite impressed with the size of this Walgreens! Plus, they have a large refrigerated section filled with basic food staples and other items for a quick lunch or late night snack. It seems this location is the hot spot to go right before closing time. There was a line 8 people deep… and only one cashier. If you need something, this is a great stop… but if you are in a hurry, you’ll be out of luck.

Walgreens has everything. Besides, the prices are low! But the service… An article wasn’t priced, so they called someone to check the price of the product. After a few calls and 5 minutes of waiting I had to look by myself. No problem, but just tell me to do that!

I love Walgreens. They have become a one stop shop. Soon I won’t need to shop at a supermarket anymore — with Walgreens quickly expanding selection of diverse goods. It’s amazing how the selection has grown from just a boring pharmacy. From local sweet corn, to Organic Raspberry Leaf tea, to organic pumpernickel bread, to healthy granola and cereals, to japanese edamame snacks, to smoke turkey and apple cranberry sandwiches. They continue to impress me with the way they evolve and adapt to the diverse New York City community. Though I’d much prefer to support local mom and pop shops — I do appreciate the way that this Walgreens is aware of its surroundings and has a very Metro New York edge about it. Don’t forget to check out their weekly circular for amazing savings!

Consistently awful. That is the best way to describe this Walgreens. Customer service here is non-existent, service is slow, employees act and treat you like they don’t care and hate working there. The only reason to shop here is the fact they have decent sales and cheaper products than the Duane Reade on the opposite corner. However, it always takes way too long to check out even when I am the only one there. It is ridiculous. For the little bit of money I save it is not worth the long waits and poor treatement by the employees.

I saw approximately 1,285,743 Duane Reed drugstores in New York. I saw only one Walgreen’s. And well, this was the one. It was a decent Walgreen’s, with a nice enough staff. I believe it had a basement, but I never went down. It was clean and organized. In the end, it was A-OK. La Novia and I came here for scented candles, water, candy, hand sanitizer, and some sore throat spray. Sure, this arrangement of purchases might seem sexual to those with their minds in the gutter, but they all had a purpose. The candles were for the stinky room we were in. Water because we need it to live. Candy was because I am a fat ass. The hand sanitizer was for use after the subway. And the sore throat spray was for me since I was coming down with a cold. Good times.

This review is for their pharmacy and check out counter. They are really bad i.e. slow, constantly making mistakes, can’t fix their mistakes, you name it. After three visits I decided I can’t do this Walgreens ever again.

I love this Walgreen’s, too! It’s a DUPLEX for chrissakes with an ESCALATOR and ridiculously spacious — the size of about six average Duane Reades. Like Walgreen’s stores across the board, prices are routinely cheaper than DR or CVS. For even more impressive bargains, always ask for a copy of their EasySaver coupon booklet at the front-register. Then combine those with weekly sale items and be made delirious by the savings.
