I actually visited Rome and Florence this summer and thought the pizza I had there weren’t much different from Waldy’s. It’s nice because Waldy’s doesn’t overload pizzas with tomato paste like most pizzerias in the U.S. do. Also, it’s very neat that you can cut your own herbs!

Love this place. The pizza is amazing. It’s not your classic NY pizza. I love that too. This is different. I’ve been here a couple of times. I always try to stop by when I’m in town on business. The arugula with the fried egg and garlic is one of my favorites. Sitting in a small, friendly, casual place with a wood-fired, freshly made pizza and a cold Brooklyn lager is starting become one of my «must-do’s» when I’m in town.

From Cincinnati I ordered a heart shaped pizza for my boyfriend that lives in Midtown New York. They were super quick and understood exactly what I wanted. Super punctual with my delivery and made a tomato shaped as a flower to decorate a beautiful heart shaped pizza. And it tasted great!

I LOVETHISPLACE! I always get their delicious Roasted Eggplant, Zucchini & Olives Pizza! The blend of flavors is perfect! Their Margarita pizza was alright. But the quality is consistent each time with the Roasted Eggplant, Zucchini & Olives Pizza and will forever be my favorite flavor/pizza.

It’s «fast food» brick oven. I had the margherita, expecting the traditional style… first of all, with good brick oven pizza, the dough will bubble up a bit and create amazing delicious air pockets with a sort of charcoal taste. The dough here was extremely thin and hard. It tasted like frozen pizza to me. Also with a good margherita, you’ll get those amazing lumps of smoky mozzarella. Here, they first cover the pizza with a shredded cheese mix that completely overpowers the more subtle mozzarella. And the cherry tomatoes were unnecessary. If you’re in a rush for lunch, this place might be convenient. Otherwise, I guess I’ve been spoiled by the handful of ny places famous for brick oven… it’s all in the details.(But in all fairness, if the extra thin crust suits your taste, you might feel differently than me.)

I really love this pizza. Fast, cheap, and good selection of toppings. Can’t complain!

Had a quick lunch run here– plain pizza with prosciutto, and a free drink! Best 20 minute lunch ever and got high quality for every dollar I spent($ 9). Go here!!!

This place is overrated. The pizza is really more like a flatbread, with crust that tastes like soot. The«house salad» was like the kind of salad you get on an airplane or in a cafeteria.

I originally have this place 5 stars, but after yesterday I have to downgrade to two stars. We ordered delivery on a Friday night which came in less than an hour which is pretty good. However, the food itself was not good whatsoever. The pizza was bland, soggy, and had a weird after taste. I got a classic Margherita and it came with baby tomatoes sliced and basil leaves. There were so much Basil leaves that it over powered the pizza. Also the cheese had a musty smell to it which I found odd. The pizza was really soggy and the cheese was all mushed when we got it. My boyfriend got an onion and olive pizza and he did not like it. It was also wet and soggy so much that even reheating in the oven didn’t do any justice to it. I get that pizza being delivered is never as good as eating I’m house but the ingredients were just off. We also ordered the penne pasta. The portion size is okay for the price, but the pasta was over powered with cheese and not enough vodka sauce. Not a fan. Last we got a brownie and that came squished.

We got pizza here on new years eve, and it was the best wood fired pizza I’ve ever eaten. It had fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. It was so delicious and the perfect way to warm up on the windy day. The atmosphere was warm(literally) and inviting. Everyone working there was beyond friendly. I chatted with the woman working the cash register for a few minutes. It was easy to place an order, and very quickly made! The prices were very fair. Pizza to eat in the restaurant was served on a wooden cutting board, which was a neat touch. We loved it there! We will definitely come back during our next stay in the city!

They forgot our order. Then after it did arrive the pizza smelt funny and base was soggy. Disappointing! Despite the good review seem to have received earlier.

Honestly, the overall 4-star rating is completely wrong. This place deserves 5-stars most definitely. At least for the food. I think the only thing that would make it better is if the size of the place was 2x larger, to accommodate more people, but if you’re lucky enough to grab a seat, this place is definitely well worth it. When you walk in you can see the giant wood fire vibrant and alive cooking the pizza just a few feet away from you when you order. A «small» /«plain» pie + can of soda cost me only about ~$ 8.50, which is a very good deal if you compare it apple-to-apples to other wood-fire pizza places. When you get the pie, then you get to enjoy add-ons like you almost never experience anywhere else in NYC. From oils and vinegars, to actual fresh herbs you can just tear off and add to the pizza. And fresh ground pepper too. Every time I went, I have been beyond extremely satisfied.

Let me preface this review by stating that I am generally not a fan of thin crust pizza. I came here on a cold and rainy night looking for hot and fresh pizza and was not disappointed. They have an illustration located by the register of the portion sizes incase you feel like the small is not enough. I got the personal margherita pizza with fresh tomatoes and basil which was delicious and filling! They have a fresh herb counter where you can add as much basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and parsley as you wish to your dish! Will definitely be making another visit soon! Quit reading & spend more time choosing toppings!

I pass this place everyday on the way to work, and on the way home. Smells great, and usually a line, so on a cold night my friends and I decided tonight was pizza night and Waldy’s was where we were putting our butts down to eat. The selection seems large but the toppings are just broken into meats, cheeses, and some veggies of the day. And sometimes pasta. After ordering my margarita with an egg, we grabbed some beer and wine and stood over a standing countertop since the seats at this location is very limited. After receiving our order I was treated to a mediocre burnt crust. We bought 4 different pizzas and the thin crust and sauce, and toppings were okay, nothing that added to the taste of the fire cooked pizza. Nothing really stuck out. Nothing memorable. The pizza seemed like a niche gimmick playing off a firewood cooking process that didn’t make their pies stand out. The pizza is good, but not excellent.

delicious thin crust pizza! they have fresh herbs on the side for you to garnish your food as well. the service is quick too. since the crust is thin, I could see how the pizza wouldn’t taste as good if you didn’t eat it right away. definitely check this place out if you’re curious! you won’t go wrong with the classic margarita.

I just ordered Waldy’s for an office lunch and they were a big hit. I ordered four pies; 2 Magherita, a Proscuitto, and a Pepperoni which were all cooked perfectly. The crust is so thin that it’s virtually a cracker. I ordered it right at 11:30 am and they arrived at 12:10 pm just in time for my 12:30. I’ll definitely be ordering from here in the future.

This is not New York pizza, But it’s definitely the best wood fire pizza I had in a very very long time. Can’t go wrong with the beer. This place might not be the biggest but when it comes to quality, they go above and beyond. Thank you

Pizza was okay but nothing amazing — kinda surprised at how high the ratings are. It’s thin crust pizza, and the style kinda reminded me of frozen pizza — which isn’t bad. I think all pizza is good pizza. I guess all semi-thin crust pizza kinda reminds be of frozen pizza. Nonetheless, flavors were pretty good, and they have beer and wine. Casual seating area and you order and pick up yourself at the counter. Good for a quick and casual bite — probably better ambiance for lunch rather than dinner.

O lugar é pequenininho e passa despercebido. Mas é super cheio e a pizza é uma delícia, com a massa bem fininha. Tipo«aperitivo»! Gostei bastante!

We went here for National Pizza Day and we glad we did! We ordered a margherita and sausage pizza and they were both delicious. The crust was crispy but a little bit burnt. Overall, the environment was good but rather small. They serve wine in a glass and have an assortment of sodas and other drinks like sparkling water. The location was good as well as the cleanliness and service. The pizza did not take long to make and bake… Only about 10 – 15 minutes. We will go here again when we are in the mood for wood fired pizza(a good change from the regular pizza slices we get).

Small cute little pizza shop TIP: for their lunch hours 12p to 4pm you receive a can of soda or water with each pizza purchase Also. $ 10 pitchers of Sierra Nievada and Sam Adams Lager. Pretty solid considering NYC usual pricing Keep in mind this is reaalllyy really really thin crust. If thin crust isn’t your thing, you won’t like it. But it’s nice and crispy — thin enough certain parts are almost cracker-like and crispy — so sometimes you don’t get that nice doughy-chew some people look for in their pizzas. We got their pizza of the day which was greek kalamata olives, feta cheese, tomatos and basil. Simple, but good flavors done well. Same goes for our other pizza their white pizza with clams and cheese. I’d say this is a solid lunch or dinner idea if you’re in the area. I wouldn’t say this is THE place to go, a destination spot. But really solid fresh eats with a solid side of… beer :)
