Ok. It was quiet until about 5:30 with now … 15 people. Slow but nice for me as I just wanted to get away from time square. It was nice and lecheeini was perfect. Good place.

I organized a group happy hour as an alumni event for my university here. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The staff were very professional, organized, and courteous; the drink deals were great; and the space was great as well(with good views)! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone hosting event, but also to anyone who just wants to check out a great happy hour!

Went there after reading the reviews here but was very disappointed. Roof Top bar but very small. I guess the bar is just for the people staying in that hotel to hangout for 2 – 3 drinks. Drinks are very low quality in happy Hour. Guaranteed for hangover if consumed more than 1 glass. Almost no food. Not even fries. Gave one star for roof top.

Chill spot. Great for a date. Pretty cozy spot, where you can get intimate with your date. No loud club music or loud drunks. At least for a Tuesday night. Drinks are moderately priced for NYC. Happy hour is perfect for a nice pre game to a wild night. Balcony doesn’t have the best view but it is heated.

Work in the area and saw that they have a rooftop bar with happy hour specials. My coworkers and I went after work on a friday and will not be going back. I ordered a standard cocktail after seeing well cocktails were $ 6.45 and was told it would be $ 10.45 when served. I asked why when it was advertised otherwise and was told«that’s just how much that one is» by a bartender who looked less than pleased to be there. I told him I wouldn’t pay $ 10.45 for it so he begrudgingly said it would be the advertised price and gave me my change with attitude. Needless to say the cocktail was weak and used lime syrup instead of an actual lime.

This was a great venue to host our happy hour for 100+ people. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and it is a nice low key place with a lovely outdoor terrace area(it is covered and heated in the winter). I would come here for a drink with a friend or host a large event for a nonprofit here.

The bar is not easily accessible or signed well — you have to know to go through the hotel to the top floor, make a right, and go out the door at the end of the hall. It doesn’t have a view, so the name is misleading. When we were there, it was a young crowd who prefers a strong drink and yelling over each other to a good drink and listening. We got our drinks in plastic cups(yes, even the wine), keepin the K in Klassy. They allow smoking, which can be a plus or minus, depending on your level of drunkenness. They do give you a free shot for checking in on Unilocal. No one in my group nor did I avail ourselves of my check-in. Not to sound snobby, but well liquor isn’t really our thing. The bartender and server were very smiley and nice, but I had to go to them to get our drinks and refills while they chatted. I’m unsure if they ever have table service or not.

The view here is great, and the space is really nice. They have plenty of seating out in the open, or under a plastic tent. Bartender was really friendly and easy-going. They have some good happy hour deals(even on weekends) on beer and well drinks. I had a whiskey ginger which was ok, but not very strong. The Unilocal check-in deal is good though, free shot with purchase of $ 10. If you get a couple drinks on happy hour, plus the shot, then you could just add the shot to your drink if you feel it isn’t strong enough! haha. I might check it out again and try the lychee martini which I heard is good.

It’s a very small venue, and doesn’t really have a view. The drinks were fine — liked the lychee martini — and cheap at $ 10 – 12. Not a place I’d stay for a very long time, but would come here again with a few friends.

Small rooftop in midtown for after work happy hour until 7. Came here on a Friday at 6 and there was not too many people. Good place if you do not want to be crammed in on a nice summer night. Drinks were good especially the lychee martini!

I recently spent happy hour at Vu 46. Of roof top bars, it’s pretty disappointing, but still beat being inside. Pros: — Was not crowded(I was there on a Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm) — You are on a roof — There are happy hour specials(only until 7pm though) Cons — Small cocktails in plastic cups cost you $ 12(no happy hour on cocktail menu) — Mixed crowd of tourists, mid-town professionals — They allow smoking and it stunk up the place

To get here, go inside The Hotel @ Times Square, and take the elevator to the 14th floor(not the second). Went on a Friday night, still too cold for a rooftop so it was empty. They have a plastic covering over the deck, but it covers only about 1⁄3 of the entire deck floor. So it’s somewhat cramped. They play a mix of decent clubby music(I only remember Rihanna). The seating area to the right is great if you have 8 people or so; you can all sit together and close enough to hear conversation. Drinks were a bit pricey but overall good. Also, there’s a $ 10 minimum on credit card charges — I should’ve just kept a tab. The bartender was pretty nice, though. Being her only customers at that time(hopefully not for the whole night), she seemed very grateful for our presence.

A friend of mine found this bar on a Google Search under«cheap bars in Midtown.» What I hoped I would find was a cheap beer or at least a happy hour, for $ 5 and under in Midtown Manhattan. Admittedly, most bars in that area usually wouldn’t have a happy hour or would have happy hour drinks that fall in the $ 5 and above range. We were able to find our $ 5 beer in bottles(till 7 p.m.), and were elated to see that this bar is not crowded at all. Vu 46 is called Vu 46 because it’s located on 46th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. It has a «Vu», because it’s a rooftop bar. We went in the dead of winter and were protected from the elements through a glass roof and plastic see-through sheeting. It’s a given that rooftop bars are considered fancy among the young and hip, but, this bar located on the roof of a non-upscale hotel, had the ambiance of a bar that didn’t try to appeal to that demographic. The décor was pedestrian modern. Perhaps Vu 46 is too unknown to the office workers in the area? All I can say after visiting, is that there is lots of potential here for a great after-work hangout spot. Since we were encapsulated in a glass bubble(since it’s winter now), the bar area just seems small, but I can easily see that when the plastic sheeting is removed, a large terrace is available, and many more patrons could be seated or standing. It seems like the ideal place to mingle. Also, a note for management: you should update the music that’s piped into the bar. Most of everything I hear was circa 2002(read: Shaggy). Finally, as for the service, the bartender at the bar was really nice and she chatted with us about the bar, in between working hard on getting the St. Pat’s decorations up. It wasn’t busy at all and she took the time to indulge us in conversation. I would definitely come back to Vu 46. I think summer would be an ideal time to visit.

Came here on a Monday because of decent Unilocal review. I’m not exaggerating when I said we lucked the F out. We met Asa, the bartender, and he not only made us LOAF(laugh our asses off), he made us the literally best drinks ever! YOUMUSTGETTHESPIKEDCOCOA. Trust him when he makes suggestions.

This bar is a great spot to hangout and enjoy some great views while meeting some cool people. The prices are very reasonable and it’s only a block away from Times Square. The bartender Annette is very nice and personable. She made my sister her favorite drink an La Water even though it wasn’t on the menu. I am definitely coming back to this bar. Vu 46 Rooftop Bar is my go to spot in Times Square.

What Vu, 46? Honestly, quite a disappointment for a place that has an average of 4 stars on Unilocal. The other patrons were creepy and the bartender was way more interested in her phone than she was with the fact that I was standing at the bar empty handed and glaring at her. I had a mojito and a sip of my friend’s whiskey cocktail. They definitely watered down the whiskey — I hate the taste of whiskey and I could have downed her entire drink without wrinkling my nose, and my mojito was pretty bleh as well. I left half of it sitting on the table when we left — which is saying a lot. I typically don’t leave $ 12 drinks unfinished. The only perk? One free shot with Unilocal check-in. Woot. Oh, and maybe the fact that there is no one around to kick you out of the table area.

Great bartender — Asa really knows how’s to talk up the crowd and serves up a great cocktail. This place has great views and seems to be the area’s new hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back and hope to enjoy the patio in the spring and summer months. Also the owner, Maya, seems really nice and is excited about this new spot. Great location, great staff and great drinks. Doesn’t get much better!

This place was not only tiny but kind of hard to find. Whoever put that Unilocal icon at 10th Avenue instead of 6th Avenue needs to be tired up to a fence and flogged repeatedly on the noggin. I submitted an edit so hopefully they’ll fix that soon so you don’t have to walk 5 blocks off course and then 5 blocks back to the right location since I only used the map through Unilocal and not Google. This bar is located inside the hotel and on the second floor. The minute I walked in I knew I was going to walk right back out. In the pictures it showed somewhat of a small space but at least it had a small rooftop like view. I’m not sure it they closed that section or it is hidden behind the closet mirrors but I was just congested trying to find it. I didn’t even bother getting a drink but from the 10 seconds that I overheard and saw the bartender, she seemed nice and on another day definitely a weekday if I’m in the area I might give this place another shot. They do have Happy Hour and beer specials so this might be a nice niche spot to do just that.
