*Disclaimer: Lots of compliments followed by «but» for this restaurant lol. I’ve been meaning to check out a rooftop restaurant or bar in the city for a while now, so I was really happy to see a deal for one! I bought a LivingSocial deal here for one appetizer or salad to share(up to $ 15), two entrees(up to $ 25 each), and two cocktails(up to $ 14 each) for my boyfriend and myself. Be sure to read the fine print for the voucher before you make a reservation because you can’t use the deal on Fridays or Saturdays. Also if you like something that exceeds what the deal covers, they let you order the food and pay the difference. Just thought it was worth mentioning because some places don’t let you order outside the deal’s price range! Drinks: We both ordered a Solstice cocktail. So yummy, I recommend it! But we got the smallest serving ever. I know Prosecco is served in a champagne glass, but our glasses weren’t even halfway full with the other ingredients added. Appetizer: The mushroom risotto was flavorful, creamy, and generous with mushrooms! But the risotto rice tasted slightly undercooked. Entrees: I got steak au poivre, cooked medium. I got such a generous NY strip steak that was seasoned perfectly, and the fries on the side were nice and crispy! But it tasted really dry for a medium. Manny got the sesame crusted tuna. He said that the seaweed salad was amazing and it tasted super fresh, but he wished they served a bigger portion because he was still hungry when we left. Service: I’ve read awful reviews about the elevator guy being rude or pushy, but I guess Manny and I got lucky this past Sunday evening because the elevator guy we met was very courteous and kind. He even offered to take pictures for us in front of the fireplace! The restaurant staff was great too; everyone was welcoming and helpful. Our server(Genesis, I think?) was awesome! Rooftop view and décor: The rooftop view was lacking. We had a gorgeous view of a parking garage and tall business buildings(sarcasm, lol). But the décor for their«Winter Wonderland» was so cute! Beautiful lighting and snowflakes everywhere! I’d rather try another rooftop restaurant than come back here and pay full price for our next meal, but I’m glad we gave this place a try.

Came here in the winter on a Living Social deal. Even with the discount, I still felt like this place was overpriced for what it was. Although, that’s to be expected on a Times Square rooftop, or in that area in general. The Food: Pretty good, but overpriced. The $ 24 shrimp cocktail turned me off. It was 4 shrimp, so $ 6/shrimp, which rivals some of the nicest restaurants in the city in terms of price(to compare, 21 Club sells the same sized shrimp cocktail for $ 22, and it is fantastic). Sadly, these tasted frozen and very recently thawed. They were OK, but not great, tougher than they should have been. The cocktail sauce was bland. This was way, way overpriced. Our entrees were a bit better. I got the branzino, and don’t typically eat it, so don’t have much to compare it to — but I enjoyed it. At $ 26, it was probably more reasonably priced. Although, it was relatively small, and the side was a salad(which was pretty much just some greens, and a few small cherry tomatoes and olives). My girlfriend got the steak au poivre, and enjoyed it, although I didn’t get to try it because I have a gluten allergy and that was not gluten-free. On that note, while the menu items are labeled as gluten free, which is really great, the gluten-free entrees were kind of scarce. Some restaurants won’t advertise a dish as gluten-free because it comes with a side that is not gluten free, but they can easily modify it. When I asked about the chicken, they said they couldn’t make it gluten-free, which was kind of odd considering how it was prepared. The filet mignon was another surprising not-gluten-free item. There’s really no reason that they shouldn’t be able to prepare a filet mignon with sautéed mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes without gluten. The short of it is that the food was overpriced for what it was(a running theme here). Some items are worse than others, such as the outrageously expensive shrimp cocktail. The Drinks: These were annoyingly overpriced as well. At $ 14/cocktail, I’d expect something above average — even in manhattan. My server told me that they were out of the first one that I ordered, which is a strong indication that these are pre-mixed. I settled on a Mojito, which, while not bad, tasted like a mix with some muddled mint in it. The bartender was also extremely slow, potentially because he was new(that’s what our server said after the table next to us received their 4 drinks before we did, even though they ordered after us). The more likely culprit, though, was our server himself, and not the bartender. Who knows. The Service: Everyone was very nice, let me start with that. There wasn’t a hint of snootiness, as is all too common, and the staff made us feel welcomed, from the moment we arrived and chatted with the bouncer while we waited for the elevator up to the rooftop. However, our waiter was unfortunately inattentive. We had a lot of trouble getting his attention, and our drinks ran empty for far longer than they should have gone.(At $ 14/cocktail, he really missed out on selling us 1 – 2 extra rounds). The restaurant wasn’t all that busy, in the area where we were seated, there were maybe 2 other tables. The waiter just wasn’t very good. The Atmosphere: They pretty much nailed the ski chalet vibe. I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to really wander around and see how the rest of the place looked, but the room we were in was sufficiently themed. The View: It isn’t all that great. Mostly office buildings that are taller than the rooftop you’re on, so your view is mostly boring buildings. There are better views in the city. There are also worse views in the city. I wouldn’t come here for the view, but rather the idea of being on a rooftop. Verdict: This place is meh across the board. It’s way too expensive for what it is. With just an appetizer, entrée, and one cocktail, you’re averaging over $ 60 per person. For that price, you can get much, much better food and service in Manhattan. As usual, you pay a tax to eat anywhere near Times Square or on a rooftop. The bouncer said that it got really busy in the daytime on summer weekends. I would go here for the overpriced cocktails, but not the food, for the themey rooftop vibe, if that’s what you’re looking for. I could see it being fun when the rooftop is exposed in the summer. I would definitely not go here for the food, though. And not because it’s bad, just because it’s overpriced. Save your money and buy another drink instead. At least the pain of an overpriced drink diminishes over time.

Interesting place. Not a roof view I thought it would be, but still., Got a Penne Pasta with shrimps, they brought it with marsh mallow on top!!! Weird, right? Anyway, the pasta was okay. My godmother got a Haven chicken with garlic mash potato but mash potatoes was blend. I guess this places is good for hang out and drink not to have a dinner. Thanks!

Went here before a show a few weeks ago, and overall it was a decent experience. For a rooftop bar, the view wasn’t exceptional, but the palm tree/tropical décor was a welcome sight in the dead of winter. Ordered the Crab and Avocado Palette to start, and while it was creamy and tasty, the portion size did not justify the price(even for NYC). The Pan Seared Salmon was flavorful and crispy on the outside, but a bit dry on the inside. The Holy Fries were a hit though — huge portion of crispy, shoestring-style fries with a creamy aioli dipping sauce. I am not ashamed to admit that we devoured the whole plate(okay maybe a little ashamed). The service actually wound up being an integral part of the experience. We informed them that we had a show starting in 90 minutes and they were very respectful and efficient. Even more impressively, someone in our party left a scarf behind(not naming any names), and the staff was very helpful in retrieving it three hours later. Overall, good service, decent atmosphere, and hit-or-miss food for the price, but you can probably do better in the Theater District.

4.5 stars We came here on a Perks deal which included a total of four cocktails, two items from the Shared section of the menu plus Holy Fries. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered more food and drinks than the deal covered. Overall we had a great time and would come back. Nice décor with the winter theme Good food Pricing typical for rooftops Seating variety — dining, bar height, couches Heated rooftop(In NY this is no easy find in the wintertime) DJ going — not too loud Drinks are ok Service — ok(forgot about us for a bit) Cool ski for group shots

We went here for a few drinks on our last night in the city. I had high hopes as it was recommended by our concierge and we were excited to visit a rooftop bar for some good views. The crew downstairs were very nice and welcoming. The hostess upstairs was also. However, we waited about 20 minutes after being seated before we ever saw our waitress. My husband was actually on his way to the bar to order when she finally appeared. Even then, she seemed as if she didn’t understand the scotch my husband ordered and he had to still go to the bar to tell the bartender. Furthermore, they didn’t charge us correctly for the scotch; they up charged for Makers when he ordered Tullamore. My husband works for a specialty beverage distributor and a former bartender himself, so he knows the bottle prices. Maybe up charging customers is the way things are done in NYC, but I would suggest being careful if you go here and definitely check your ticket to ensure you weren’t overcharged. I will say the ambience was nice, it was heated and cozy. However the cushions could be a bit thicker. While the view was okay, the lack of service dampened our overall mood.

We came here with RESERVATIONS on 12÷11÷15 for 6. When we arrived, we were told our reservations were not found! We decided to wait by the bar for a table(so yes, they got drinks out of us for waiting). We waited(with no seats) for about 45 minutes. The«lounge» area is a few sofas thrown into the corner with a couple of bar tables. The place is small and kinda muggy /hot due to the roof being closed off for the winter. The Drinks were average to below average, the food was decent BUT portions are small especially for the price. The view is bad compared to other rooftops. I wouldn’t return to this spot. If you are expecting a luxurious view along with an elegant bar/lounge and restaurant area, you will most likely be disappointed.

This was about our fifth time to the HAVEN because it’s our little haven when we visit New York. Our server this time wasn’t especially friendly, but she was efficient. We enjoyed a few mixed drinks and then shared the Sanctuary Sangria pitcher, which was lovely, too. The salads and cheese platter were terrific. The atmosphere is relaxing and beautifully lit. We sat in a corner with lovely couches(there are many such corners) and a perfect view of city lights no matter which way we turned. We were wrapping up a super fun afternoon at Central Park and couldn’t have enjoyed it more.

Haven rooftop is a decent rooftop restaurant/bar with good food and drinks. Came here for a friend’s birthday, we all had drinks and a meal, some got dessert. I had the sangria and the mojito, both were pitchers for the table than many of us shared. You get about 5 decent sized drinks out of a pitcher, and the server pours them for you which is nice. Both tasted great and were strong. For dinner, I had a chicken dish. How they slice the chicken so thin and have it stay juicy is beyond me, I wish I had asked. It was really well seasoned. It came with a salad and mashed potatoes, both which were pretty standard. The service was good, our server always made sure to check that we were doing okay. My only complaint about this place is that to me, it feels so so SO pricey. I understand it’s a rooftop bar/restaurant in Manhattan, but for me, I had two drinks and dinner and my bill came to $ 70 which is high in my opinion. And no, I didn’t have to pay for the birthday girl, her parents covered her stuff, so that price isn’t inflated. The atmosphere here is great, I’d probably come back for just drinks(if that’s possible, there were tables everywhere).

I wanted to like this spot — but I should have listened to the reviews. Here’s why: 1) Slow service — Unilocalers warned of slow service; it was slow. I cannot believe the staff at the plaza level are so uptight about letting people on the elevator when this place was quite empty and boring. 2) View — Unilocalers shared that the view sucked; it did. We saw a few buildings and a church-top. This building patio is too low to enjoy the seemingly endless NYC skyline. 3) Food and wine — The food — I had a crab and avocado dish –was decent, but overpriced(again, as mentioned by other Unilocalers). The wine wasn’t bad, but I could get the server to bring me a second glass for about 20 minutes. We went during our seeking NYC before the wedding, and it was NOT memorable or exciting. There are far better dinner rooftops in this city.

Went there a week ago, opened a tab, left my CC, had to run out and forgot to close the tab. Took me a day or two to realize. The way I realized is because somebody payed for a cab in the city while I was in NJ. Called the place, they could not allocate the card. I kinda not digging places I cannot trust.

Just had dinner at this Resturant an me and my boo was not please, the food was ok an over price the first drink we had was good, so I decided to order another one sangria($ 14) that was not good it didn’t taste like sangria no alcohol in it. The view, what view the buildings. not impress at all. I get it that’s it’s the city an all, but have better drinks an more food for the price charge. Will not go back.

I haven’t tried the restaurant at Haven Rooftop, which is located on top of the Sanctuary Hotel in Times Square, but I have been to the rooftop for a private event for drinks and appetizers. The hotel is conveniently located near offices in midtown, so I think they host a lot of work events here. It was a little confusing to get there because you have to take an elevator to the top floor, and then they have a private deck about 4 floors below the rooftop. It’s a weird set-up, but the venue itself is really nice. You don’t get much of a view because of all the other tall buildings surrounding it, but at least you are outside and can enjoy the breeze on a hot summer day/night. The venue was a little tight/cramped for our large group, so it was very difficult to get around. They served two different types of sangria. There was too much ice so it tasted extremely diluted. In terms of food, we got to try the sliders, fries, guacamole, mushroom risotto, and veggie crudités with pita, hummus, and tzatziki sauce. I really liked the sliders(other than the fact that the patty was too well-done and a bit dry), which were topped with muenster cheese and dijonnaise sauce. The potato bun was fluffy and chewy at the same time. The fries tasted bland — definitely need a sprinkle of salt. Same with guacamole, but I appreciated chunks of avocado in there. The mushroom risotto was served in a little spoon. It was served lukewarm, so you could really taste the coagulated butter. I really liked the tzatziki sauce — went perfectly with the carrot, celery sticks, and cucumber slices!

3 stars just because the view was nice otherwise just a 2 stars. I wasn’t impressed with the food. The spring rolls were good but the sliders and any wine we tried(Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc) were so-so. I had to just switch to a bottle of Blue Moon. Outside, the entrance to the hotel and lobby looked impressive and outside the rooftop bar and lounge area was small enough to carry on a good conversation with a bunch of your friends or coworkers. The service was just so-so as well. I got the feeling that the servers who were passing the hors deuvres would rather be somewhere else. Hmmm, not sure I’d go back.

Haven rooftop has a such nice view but the service is not what I was expecting, I made a reservation for two and when I got there we still had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table, after the long wait we were sitting in the worse table in the whole restaurant, the food was just decent, the service needs to be improve, the guy who was serving us didn’t know that much what he was doing, our cocktails weren’t good at all and the bill was a little bit high for what we got, when we were leaving the place I asked a worker if he could take a picture for us and the answer that we got(AM I GETTINGPAYFORTHAT) This restaurant is located in a really nice place but I’m not going back again, it wasn’t what we were expecting at all we could’ve got a better service in any other restaurant.

There is a lot to love about Haven Rooftop Lounge. It’s unpretentious, nice skyscraper view, reasonable prices, and tasty drinks and appetizers. You walk in, take elevators up to the rooftop, tell the host you just hang out at the bar and she’d let you through. Hassle-free. All the staff members are very polite up to the point we run into the waitresses who get a bit pushy insisting we put a credit card on tap and order drinks with them if we want to stand at a tall table so they can get the tips. It’d be no problem but waitresses are slow service. I can get a drink fixed quicker at the bar. There are two bar areas on rooftop with beachy couches and sit-down wooden tables(reservation). We enjoyed the mojitos, gin-and-tonics, lime cucumber cocktails — very refreshing and well made drinks for these summer evenings. Food came quick — french fries and fried calamari were actually delicious. The night started out with a younger crowd — late 20s and 30s, and after 9pm the crowd turned into 40s. Haven Rooftop is a very chill spot for after-work hours drinks.

This place is great! Me & my bf came here last night for his birthday dinner. We reserve our table for 7pm & were 30minutes late but they still give us our table right away when we got there. Our server is really nice. Hes attentive despite that the restaurant is busy. When we sat we got 2 cocktail drinks while deciding what to get. We ordered crab & avocado palette for appetizer, & for our entrée, I ordered lobster roll & my bf ordered fillet mignon and It taste really good! We ordered strawberry cheesecake for dessert. All in all our experience here is great! Rooftop in midtown with nice decorations & ambiance. I wanna go back again & I’ll bring my friends with me to enjoy some more drinks & tasty food!

This place is right by my work so I’m there a fair amount in the summer. The rooftop is nice but gets overcrowded quickly, luckily their are 2 other bars up there that aren’t as crowded though. Another thing to note; there is no view whatsoever apart from of the side of the sky scraper opposite so if you’re looking for a rooftop bar with a cool view of the skyline, this is definitely not it. Food and drinks are typical of midtown; average and over priced but not as much as most of the bars/restaurants in the immediate vicinity and I will say their cocktails are good(and strong) and their sangria is good value. It’s a decent happy hour spot with good service and although there aren’t views, it beats the many dark and dingy Irish Pubs that form most of the local alternatives.

Came here on a Living Social deal on a Thursday night, the place isn’t too bad and it was pretty busy, looking around, I realized that many people came here with similar deal that we bought online as well. It’s nice to be on the roof top, the service is pretty good. Our deal allows us to have a starter, a main course and a drink each, then share a desert. It’s a very good deal. The portion and quality of food is pretty ok, better than a lot of other deal places have offered.
