Well we came here on a wim and the hookah guy was the only plus side. I shared the salmon with my best friend and asked for a side of rice. When the food came they took all the sides that came with the salmon off and gave us salmon with just rice. Crusty rice from the bottom of the pot at that, whatever. We were starving so we ate it. We ordered two mojitos a cranberry and vodka and henny straight, $ 47. My girlfriend then ordered two shots of patron and 2 of fireball, $ 47. Next round was about 3 minutes later they charged us $ 52. I was very ready to say wtf is this about but they didn’t want to argue. I don’t see why they would charge us an extra $ 5 for the same shots. The hookah guy was super cool but otherwise I don’t think we will ever come back. The mojitos tasted like shit, whatever coconut mix they use is not working and their mint and lemons looked old and brown, gross. Let’s up our standards guys, you attract what you put out.

There was a happy hour being hosted here by a sorority which my friends invited me to. I’ve never been to this place, but I did check out some pictures on Unilocal, and I was eager to visit. Upon entry, I loved the vibe, and the colors around the bar. I immediately noticed the place had outside seating, and it was pretty open– which is good; no one wants to be in a cramped bar with no air. When I got to the bar, I immediately knew what I was going to get– a passion fruit mojito, of course! The bartender, Jackie, made the mojito sooo good. By the time it was 10PM, I had already ordered 5. She said she was a bartender-in-training, and that she recently moved to New York, but I was honestly shocked, because she looks like she has been doing this for a long time. What I liked about her and the other bartender was that they asked for ID any time a new person ordered a drink. I notice that some bars don’t ID once the bar starts to get packed, but it was very responsible of them. Someone tried to order two drinks– one for them, and one for a friend, and the bartender asked for the friend’s ID, and the person said she didn’t have one, so the bartender said, «I’m sorry, I can’t serve her.» So f*cking responsible! lol. I’m not trying to be the bad cop here, but bars that constantly welcome a large amount of minors are at HUGE risk of getting their liquor license taken away. I started to get a little hungry, and I ordered some Buffalo chicken meatballs. Yum! Very interesting taste, for only $ 8 :) What I loved most, was that my food got to me quick. Jon Taffer would be proud. And adding on to how great the bartender was, she constantly kept checking up on us, and even told my friend, «She’s [me] been mixing alcohol, I don’t think you should buy her a new drink.» I thought this was the icing on the cake– who would of known she was so attentive that she even remembers what I was drinking? Especially since there were over 80 people in that bar & kept ordering drink after drink. I give Jackie a 5, the bar a 5, and the vibe a 5. I am DEFINITELY coming back here again! :)

This place has recently been renovated and it looks great. I would come here for happy hour before the closed and now that it has reopened have made it back for happy hour specials. $ 15 pitchers of sangria, $ 25 pitchers of mojito, $ 5 mixed drinks and $ 5 appetizers. The new chef that they brought on is solid with daily plates of the day and a new revamped menu. At night it turns into a lounge with pop, top 40, hip-hop, and Latin music. If you are in the Dyckman area give it a look. The one star off is their service is a little slow. Maybe it was just an off day but that should improve.

I’ve been here 3 times and all 3 times the service has been horrible I have never been one to complain but I’m so fed up with this place that I hope no one comes back here cause every thing about this place is horrible I don’t like the food and the service was bad and I thought the waiter was bad but the bartender was worst I told her I needed a water and she took 12 minutes to get me a water if that’s not bad service at the bar I don’t know what is !! The food was over cooked and the seafood was not well prepared either I don’t recommend this place to any one and if anyone disagrees with me they can email me that’s how confidante I am my review was accurate. …

First off, I’m not from the area(or NYC) so this review is based off that. Maybe all bars in the area are the same … Just want to disclaim that fact. This bar isn’t too bad. Has potential. Didn’t try any food so I’m not reviewing that. But we did drink plenty and ordered some hookah. It’s little small but still has room for some dancing. Pros: –The staff is hot. And by that I mean the woman servers and bartender. Wow. Extremely attractive. –GREAT music. You can dance in the mini dance floor or just dance right at your table. Which is what we did. –Ambience is nice. They have good lighting that goes with the music. –Drinks are strong. Cons: –Pricey. They charge you for everything. By the end of our night we were pretty drunk and needed water. Instead of giving us tap water for free like every other bar… they bamboozled us and sold us bottled water. –The Hookah is extremely overpriced. $ 25 for something that should only cost $ 15. And they only give you one coal! When I asked if we could please get another coal the guys says sorry but we don’t do that, you have to just order a refill for $ 15. Screw you buddy. Who does that?! Again maybe that’s all hookah bars pricing in the area but still that’s some shady stuff. –The staff seems more busy taking amongst themselves than helping out getting you orders. Like I said this place is just okay. We made the best of it and actually had a good time. But then again we got drunk. The place has the potential to be a great spot if they only fix a few things.

I went my first time a few weeks ago for a friend’s birthday and I had a BLAST. The restaurant itself is small, but don’t let the size fool you. The food was very good and the drinks were perfectly concocted… just a little on the pricey side, but to be expected when going out now at days. The DJ was on point and kept the crowd on their feet all night. I definitely look forward to going back with friends and will bring my dancing shoes. Couple of issues: They only had one bartender, which took longer to get a drink; especially on a busy Saturday night. The other was trying to find parking. If you want to find decent parking on the street be sure to arrive early. Otherwise, they have valet parking for $ 10.

Had a birthday party for my brother there and had a BLAST the staff is extremely accommodating, the food is super yummy and the drinks are THEBESTEVER. The Lady D and the Passionfruit mojito were some of the best drinks EVER. My only issue was the price as it was a little pricey and the bartendar charged me for drinks I did not order. I was so pissed but eventually we resolved the issue. I would go back with a party of two so there’s no confusion with the bill. ;-)

This place is a little gem in the heights. The hookah is the best I’ve had, very smooth, service is always excellent and the passion fruit mojitos never disappoint. This place is ideal for date night or for a first or second stop on a club night. The crowd is more grown and sexy and sometimes nights like that are just better. A very chill spot, will definitely be back.

Use to be one of my favorite brunch places until I found a ROACH on my sangria this afternoon. Nasty. Never coming back. Ever!!! And on top of that the waitress tried to tell me that it was impossible for the roach to get into the sangria. I don’t care how it got there. The fact was that there was a damn roach inside.

I went to Viva for the first time and I must say that I was more then impressed with it. The food is amazing and very fresh. The drinks are great as well. We were greeted right away and the service was stupendous. I highly recommend this place. I am definitely going to be a regular customer at this establishment.

This place is right across the street from me and I had put off checking it out for some time. Now I wish I had gone in sooner! The exterior is really nice. Probably nicer than anything else in the immediate vicinity. They open the floor to ceiling windows that surround the whole place so that the breeze comes in. I have to say that’s one of my favorite features, especially so the place doesn’t get stuffy with hooka smoke. The ambiance is perfect. Music is not too loud so you can have an actual conversation. I came in just for drinks, so I can’t speak to the tastiness of the tapas. Drinks on a Thursday night were $ 10 each. I also wanted to try out the hooka since everyone around me seemed to be enjoying it. Mint flavor was a good choice. It cost $ 20 which seems a little steep, but I’ve also never been to any other hooka spots up here. My favorite part about this place was the service. I had 3 different people come up to me on several occasions to ask if I was enjoying myself. They asked about my hooka experience, if I liked the bartender, and just made me feel like my happiness was important. For that, I will definitely return.

I went here on a Wednesday night. It wasn’t crowded — just a handful of people at the bar. There was a female bartender there who was very pleasant and helpful. She immediately told us about the happy hour special and food specials(win!) I didn’t know what to drink, so the bartender gave me samples of the red & wine sangria. I chose the red sangria — the sweetness was just right. The white sangria was a tad sweeter. We didn’t know what to order for food. She had recommended the chips & guac, empanadas and some sort of kebabs(I didn’t look at the menu — my friend did). Everything was good, but I didn’t care for the sauce that came with the empanadas — it tasted like a light BBQ sauce. I felt that they could have given more guacomole given the ample portion of chips they provided. With that said, the food was good and the service was great. I would come back to try the mojitos.

Wayyyy too loud. I live across the street from this place, and the thumping thudding music never stops. Don’t patronize a place that doesn’t respect its neighbors.
