Insomnia

This is absolutely the worst establishment that I have ever been to. It took two hours for my brunch dish to arrive, and when it did, it was cold and a completely different order than what I had placed.

So I came here on a Tuesday with my man and sister in law and I have to say it was a horrible experience, the so called bartender had all his boys at the bar it literally took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Two there was only one waiter who had no clue what she was but she was nice that’s about it, service food was terrible. I wouldn’t recommended this place at all! !!!

I only go Tuesdays for their unlimited wings for $ 4.99 and $ 5 mix drinks. Wings were awesome. Almost too good to be true for unlimited wings. Drinks were very from their $ 5 drink menu. I haven’t eaten on any other night. But the value you get on a Tuesday, its more than perfect.

This place is the worst. I wouldn’t even go in if someone paid me. The music was good the waitress’s in there were so rude and distasteful letting these drug dealers touch their coochie. Me and my friends were sitting next to some drug dealers dropping money and the waitress was so rude acting like we weren’t dropping money as well. The waitress was letting the drug dealer touch her with no shame! insomnia is a waste of money. The service there is trash and I’d honestly never go there again

This place is horrible! The service sucks, the music sucks, and the drinks were terrible. My husband and I ordered a fishbowl and were not able to even finish half of it. Now, I am not sure if the bartender does not know how to make drinks, or if the drink was just not good; all I know is that it was a waste of $ 50.00. The worst part of all, is the hookah service they have. First, the hookah is not good. Second, they make you pay for the hookah before you are done with you tap or even get your drinks, and if you don’t pay for the hookah in cash they charge you and extra $ 3.00 for the transaction. Third, they charge to change your coal! WHO DOES THAT??? I will never go to this place ever again. If I could give it «0» stars I would, because even the 1 star is too good for them.

I was there with my girls on a Friday night (9pm-iiiiish)…the place was empty except for another table with 3 ladies eating dinner. My friends wanted the Margarita pitcher since they’ve heard it was crazy cheap for a lot of liquor. Well, I know why… after a couple of sips, my stomach was achy as if I had a hangover.
P. S. — They also went for the «cheap» hookah, which they mentioned to the waiter it «taste funny». I’m almost convinced this place serves cheap items to match their cheap prices. I was starving… so I ordered food there, which was decent (Sirloin & mashed potatoes) …I was scared to eat there being that the place did not really look like a restaurant and everything there looked cheap and «ghetto». I ordered a mojito and was told they don’t have mint leaves. This place is not for people seeking quality for the $$ they are paying. If you want a cheap, good time, apparently this place is poppin’ after 1am. I was out of there by 11pm and they closed their doors. I couldn’t believe that was my Friday night. Not returning to this place. No crowd, No real service… everything is «half-​ass». Sorry

Insomnia is a restaurant/​lounge located in Dyckman or Inwood (potato/​patato).
I’ve actually gone to Insomnia when it was under different management and under the name MTB Lounge, but it had been about a year or so since my last visit.
I went with some girlfriends to enjoy a couple of drinks and hookah. We had the strongest pitcher of passion fruit margaritas that I’ve ever had! The hookah was affordable, which is also a plus.
Stay tuned for an updated review once I have a meal at this place.

Stopped in for home girl’s bday! It was still empty around 1am and only got full after 2am (probably after everyone hit up the other popping spots grrr-​_​-​. We didn’t get the memo)
cons:
–tinyyy shots (plastic cups)
–fairly new club so takes time to get jumping
–Horsefly attack in the bathroom
–obviously Latin club so mostly Latin music + mashups with hip hop and r&b (which is more of a pro than a con)
Pros:
–Mint hookah was funn
–Atmosphere once it got full was LIVEEE
–cool place for diverse group of friends just looking for a different scene!
In conclusion, I have learned that any shindig, outing, party (whatever) is truly what you make of it. We ended up having a good time, bday girl was pleased and we were buzzed and feeling nice!

The review is based on the lounge…
Music: horrible
Drinks: Plastic cups — from the 99 cents store. I’m fine with plastic cups but please upgrade to better plastic cups.
Crowd: It’s the typical Inwood crowd.
And of course… hookah is available.
The floor was extremely wet — not good mix for ladies in high heels, and tipsy/​drunk individuals.
It’s a small place.

Good place for a flavor mojito or sangria
