These guys know their stuff! I went in looking for a nice scotch and they didn’t have the exact one I was looking for. Got to talking and told them Bourbon is my preference and they started showing me a Japanese whiskey that has some of those bourbon qualities we all love so much. Will definitely be back here.

As you know, you can’t purchase wine or spirits anywhere but an actual wine and spirits store in New York City, so they’re a necessary part of any local’s day to day lives. Some specialize in the cheap stuff, some are more into boozy delights fit for a special occasion. Violetta seems to be closer to the latter form of wine shop.
I was looking for a value on an approachable red varietal. The least expensive I saw was in the high $ 20 range. Not bad, but I was hoping to spend something like $ 17. They had plenty of whites under the $ 20 mark so that’s the way I rolled. We’ll see if this Gewürztraminer does the trick!
They also had a cool variety of unique and indy spirits as well. If you want to break the mold of your usual alcoholic consumption, you may want to peruse their selection. It was pretty remarkable.
