I’m such a sucker for lines. I see this line of 7 – 8 patrons, and I’m thinking this pizza for a $ 1 might be legit. Now, I’ll usually write cheesey things like«best bang for your buck», but you better keep that dollar — holla! That was a funky tasting cheese and every time I burp-I got this weird taste in my mouth. What is this taste in my mouth? I had to washed it down with tequila. The crust was like eating air; it evaporated upon entering my mouth. The deuce? Did I actually ate that pizza? Oh man.

I believed anything from a truck is supposed to be better. NOT! I was at Union Sq right near the Staples store and I saw this cool red pizza truck. $ 1 a slice. Not shabby right? I gave it a try. It was a fresh full pie too. It was lukewarm, the sauce and cheese was very low quality. I mean compared to the 2Bros in st marks, this was way worse. I dislike 2Bros already… Me thinks not.

Had a $ 1 slice and a $ 2 serving of penne ala vodka yesterday. The slice was good lots of cheese no sauce, just a few slivered sun dried tomatoes. The penne was good although the sauce seemed to be lacking something, maybe some basil or oregano would have helped. Also, the sauce had a lot of onions, but they were slivered as well so they were easily picked out if you wanted. I have to agree with another reviewer that the guy in the truck was friendly and flirty. A good deal and a welcome change from all the fast food places around Union Square.

you know, it’s pretty awesome to be walking in Union Square and there is a pizza truck. yes, a few pizzerias in the ‘hood and there’s the oh-so-famous«Artichoke»… but, sometimes you are way too lazy to walk along 14th street or University Ave and there’s an urge in you to get a square slice from a truck. the pizza slices aren’t too bad. i hate the fact that they are super cold when served to me on a paper plate. when you have them heated up– it takes too long and the slices come out even more burnt than they were before the reheat. annoying. the service is great, though. the guy i usually see in the truck is very flirty and upbeat. i like that. some laughs and blushing before my food. but it’s something that happens to most people on a date… you think it’s going to go well because you’re blinded by the greatness of their personality, but only later do you discover it was a disguise all along! yup, that’s how i feel whenever i get buttered up by Vinny’s truck. then i take a bite of the cold pizza and i am brought back to reality. it’s just OK.

Ugh, I’m updating this to downgrade to 3 stars. I tried it again today, $ 3 for three slices. I told him to please heat up the slices, but he told me «It’s very hot.» and bagged up the slices for me. I immediately whipped out the first slice and took a bite. Totally cold! I think I would have enjoyed three items from the McD dollar menu more. If you ever go, insist that they heat up your slices.

This truck seems to be on Unions Square west at 14th st, there appears to be some confusion. I think this got a good review on midtown lunch so I tried it out, just one plain slice. It’s good thin crust, if you’re into that, not too much cheese(Personally I like too much cheese) but in this way was good on the go. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce. It was definitely a good slice, but only really worth it if you need to get something on the go, from a truck, especially for $ 2.50 a for a plain slice, on this block. There’s better pizza in either direction but it’s kind of in the doldrums of pizza.

I got their 2 sicilian slices for $ 4 today. It was some of the soggiest and bland pizza I’ve ever had. Someone should warn them that their oven is actually a microwave. Avoid at all costs.

There aren’t many recommendable slices in the Union Square area so, luckily, Vinny Vincenz(on 1st b/w 13th and14th) has filled the void by parking a big red pizza truck here just about every weekday lunch(can’t vouch whether it’s here other times). It’s had two types of slices — their great Sicilian slice and their okay standard cheese slice. I recommend the former which is comparable in quality to the one at the restaurant. Impressive since they are making it fresh in the truck which has built-in pizza ovens. Hope the pizza truck sticks around…
