This place is awesome! Not a place for fruity drinks but the ambiance was lovely… And the fried pickles were some of the best ones I ever had!

They have a good beer list, but the acoustics in this bar are so bad. Even when it is half full, it is so loud that it’s almost impossible to have a conversation. The problem is that it’s just a neighborhood beer bar, where people go to hang out and have conversations.

I really like this place. Nice laid-back atmosphere. Interesting clientele. Lots and lots and lots of beers on tap. There’s an acceptable wine list and some cocktails as well for those who are less into the beer. Overall it’s just a fun place to hang out. Doesn’t seem to be popular with tourists, either, which is always a bonus. I recommend checking it out if you’re in the neighborhood.

For a place named after the Norse version of warrior heaven, this place felt like anything but. I came in there after 2 friends and I had traversed the 9th Avenue Food Festival, mostly because the name appealed to my sense of wanting to say, «Tonight, we dine in Valhalla!» The place is a generic Manhattan bar, complete with high prices and no real connecting the name of the place to the theme. Except for them calling happy hour«Angry hour». How trite. So we ordered food. The waiter asked us if we wanted to give him a credit card to start a tab. We declined. He comes back 2 minutes with the the bill for the food. Rather surprised by this, since this has NEVER happened to any of us in the combined 70 years we’ve been going to bars in this city, I asked the waiter what was up with this. He said it was a management decision to have all customers pay up front if they didn’t open a tab with a credit card. What a load. The food was standard pub fare, nothing special to write home about. Nor did the waiter dazzle me with exceptional customer service. The busboy, however, was practically stalking our table, jumping on my empty plate the near minute I was done eating. Yo stalker, chill out. Yeah, this place was a pretty massive disappointment. I won’t be going back.

Summary: Beer flights have plenty of options but are a bit pricey at five samples for $ 23. Cool environment. Friendly service. Food choices are pretty limited. Beer by the glass is either $ 8 or $ 9. My wife and I wanted to get a drink somewhere near our hotel before grabbing some pizza and heading to see Aladdin. Valhalla came up as a new establishment with pretty good reviews so we decided to check it out. Inside, the décor is viking-esque(as one would expect). Lots of taps lined the wall and a couple of friendly servers stood behind the bar and wandered the tables taking orders. We perused the menu and inquired about flights. The server said they offered any five 5oz tastings for $ 23. Not a stellar price, so my wife and I worked with the server to pick five to share. Here are the ones we tried: St. Klippenstein — Strong Belgian Left Hand Milk Stout — Smooth and tasty on Nitro Founders Oatmeal Stout — Pretty good Cream Ale — Creamy but a little underwhelming Stone Bitter Chocolate Stout — Strong and on par with the name After the flight, we each ordered a glass of our favorite. All in all, it’s a decent place to get a craft beer. The prices are a bit high and the bathroom(at least the men’s) is incredibly small with the urinal in easy viewing range from anyone that opens the door from the bar. I appreciate the desire to maximize efficiency, but be warned :-)

This is a great spot for groups, or maybe even a date, but it is quite loud. I went on a Saturday night; it was a casual and fun atmosphere with decent classic rock music in the background. They have tables and high tops available, as well as seats by the bar. If you don’t get a table you can obviously stand, but at this bar, I think you would prefer to sit. Fried pickles, boneless chicken fingers and nachos were delish!

This is a cool little spot the bf and I stumbled upon looking for a quick bite the other night, I almost wanted to keep it to myself because I can totally see us making this our go-to! They have dozens of beers on tap, even more bottles, gluten free brews and cider. Plus a full bar and wine if beer isn’t your thing despite ALL of these options! Seating is all seat-yourself bar-style, they have the bar, high tops, and picnic tables and a few TVs over the bar but nothing crazy. The food is comfort with lots of fried… everything. Not a bad thing haha we tried the fried pickles, house made artichoke dip with warm homemade pita chips, and the grilled chicken sliders(great non-fried option!) and all were delicious! Loved the spicy aioli that came with the pickles and sliders. They also have an «angry hour» 1−4am and .50 cent wings 1−2am as well so I think we will be stopping by to try that! It’s definitely a cozy spot for chilly winter nights!

Let me start off by saying that I have a very casual interest in the craft realm. In my free time, I seek out the best beers that the brewing world has to offer. In saying that, I am aware that Valhalla had an exceptional tap list. Beers from such distinguished producers such as Hill Farmstead piqued my interest even further. However, Sunday night’s bartender, Ethan(?), did little to feed off my excitement for an experience at his watering hole. Let me explain: 1) Me: «Hey bro, what’s hot on the menu tonight?» Ethan responded with as much enthusiasm as if I were asking an Eskimo to list all the different words for snow. This lackluster response left me more in a state of uncertainty as my beer odyssey rolled on. 2) Me: «I believe the Hop-De-Ranged is a quad.» Ethan shrugged his shoulders with little regard for the accuracy of the beer menu. Fantastic! 3) Halfway through my delicious Hill Farmstead Citra Single Hop Pale Ale, the bladder decided it was time to hit the little boys’ wee wee room. Upon my return, my liquid gold had been disposed of without a hint of remorse. Unbelievable! Coffin officially nailed shut! What kind of two bit hack hired this bozo? This wasn’t my first time here and I remember another big guy behind the bar, Danny I think, who was very helpful. Wish he were on because besides the extensive beer selection, it was amateur hour indeed!

Price: 4⁄5 Quality: 5⁄5 Atmosphere/service: 5⁄5 My high school mascot was the Vikings, so considering going to a bar called Valhalla already seemed native to me. I’ve always been an eastside girl since moving to NYC, but with my office at the cusp of Times Square and Central Park South, I had to give in and find a new bar to call my drinking hole. On my first visit, I went with a few coworkers, most notably, one who calls himself a beer nerd(brews his own beer, spits at the idea of Bud-anything). Oh man, he went nuts with the tap list. They had a wide variety and it being the summertime, he even found me a rare raspberry wheat beer that was both refreshing and weird in the best way. Their selection was diverse during the Fall with the amount of pumpkin flavored beers and ciders they had in stock. And when Oktoberfest rolled around, they had their beer + bratwurst special to cure all HH appetites. I’ve been a few other times in more intimate company, all instances which were positive: great waiters and waitresses, an ever changing selection of beer, and an overall fun, easygoing atmosphere for after work drinks. Special shout out to when they carried the Barrier Money IPA on tap. Resembled incredibly closely to the Russian River’s Pliny the Elder IPA. Absolutely delicious. Net: stuck on the west side? Come to Valhalla for a beer or cider. They’ll always have something for you.

Depending on the night, Valhalla can offer either a quiet, casual place to chat over beers or it could be a packed, loud, and wild bar perfect from larger groups. It can act as your cozy neighborhood bar or a fun destination spot. The beer selection here is almost unparalleled, and the service is fabulous. All in all, it is hard not to love Valhalla, despite of, and really because of, its many personalities!

Sports bar that serves a ton of beers but not overwhelming that you can’t land on the perfect one. The place is great for large groups or parties of 2 and the service is friendly! Came here to watch a basketball game but unfortunately the TVs aren’t big enough to enjoy a sports event.

Their service is good, bartenders are super friendly and humorous. I ordered the Irish mule, suffering bastard, and the dark & stormy. However each drink had that one element that was too strong. For example the dark and stormy(the cheapest drink, it cost $ 11) was dark rum and ginger beer. But the ginger was so overpowering that it started tasting like medicine and became very hard to drink. The suffering bastard made me feel just like its name. I felt like I was punishing myself. Although this bar got me tipsy off of two drinks, it was not worth it.

Great beer bar with very friendly staff. I was just in from a run and asked for crisp and low-alcohol options, and got several great recommendations from the guy behind the bar. It’s a decent size and plenty of tables; it was buzzing at 8:30 on a Tuesday. My only real issue with the place was that it was buzzing so loudly I could barely hear what the bartender was telling me. Probably too many live shows in my youth have done that to my ears, but what can you do. The food menu is very succinct. I ordered Angus Sliders with hand cut fries; didn’t specify a temperature but they came out *perfect* medium rare. Nice! Great flavor on both the burgers and the fresh fries. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, great beer selection all says winner in my book. Wish the menu was a bit more extensive, but perhaps that helps them keep the quality up.

The meaning for«Valhalla» is a Norse mythology which means«hall of the slain». This is a majestic, enormous hall located in Asgard, which is ruled over by the god Odin. So lets get this straight, if a Viking would die an honorable death, they are accepted in Asgard. I am pretty sure Asgard doesn’t have the quality and quantity of fine crafts as Valhalla does here in Hells Kitchen. This is basically an establishment that serves one purpose, lets get happy, its pretty much their code. This is simply a joint or this establishment is for all(21 and over) to come in relax, take a load off, or put a load on. No fancy décor, none of that jibba jabba you’d see everywhere else. Thor, Odin and every other band of folklore would clearly appreciate the crafts on tap, with the bottle selections served in here. I am also sure the libation gods of Boulevard, Victory, Brooklyn, Oskar and so forth would gladly appreciate any of your selections. With those mentioned Valhalla never carries the same old craft. I mean, not that there is nothing wrong with that, these guys keep things in a constant rotation. Variety is a choice in life kiddies, remember that. The liquor is pretty much on point in case you can’t find a craft or bottle that agrees with you. They also serve food, and by the looks of their menu it seems to be pretty standard bar fare. The service was ok, they kept us happy for the 3 rounds we were in here for. In all I’d come back again for another pint, and maybe this time I’ll bring a Viking horned helmet with me.

Some friends and I came here for happy hour and had a decent time. Décor: It’s a pretty standard bar setup with a couple high-tops, a couple picnic-type tables, and a good-sized bar. The beer menu, right above the bar, can’t be missed and their specials are clearly labeled. Bathroom: It’s a pretty standard bar bathroom, a bit small. Staff: Our waiter was nice and quick to take our orders(drinks and food). He also made himself available several times for drink refills, etc. Food/Drinks: We started with a round of different beers and then had a few apps from there: Pretzels(pretty good), nachos(decent), and wings(pretty tasty). All-in-all the food was pretty standard bar food, it was good but nothing that blew us away. Value: Our final bill was about what we expected it to be. The craft beer selection is what sets this place apart from any other bar, but even that won’t keep this place unique for long. I don’t know that we’ll be back simply due to a lack of «wow factor.»

Unglaubliche Auswahl an Bieren, auch kleine bayrische Brauereien. Aber Geräuschpegel extrem hoch!
