Location is Uptown Swirl’s best feature. We were waiting for a show and it is in the middle of the theater district. The attendant at the counter was not welcoming and did not even smile. Coffee is in a thermos by the window and you pour it yourself. We had the Peanut Butter and Jam Crêpe which was huge and okay. Seating is upstairs. My problem was there were too many people in and out of this place that had no business being there. Some just came in to use the one unisex bathroom. Then there were drivers from the NY Bus tours who just sat there waiting to start their shifts. A group of young men came in and sat upstairs and tried to sell us a homemade CD of their music. It was just not a pleasant dining experience with so many people there when we were the only ones eating and the others were just walking in and out from the street. One of them even said in a loud voice«Nobody move and nobody will get hurt» when he came which was obviously a joke but just made his friends even rowdier. Maybe they were all friends and knew the owner or the attendants personally because no one stopped them. With that many people coming upstairs, you would think someone will come up and clean the tables, but no one came. There was a cup of soup on an empty table and the trash was so full. I will not go back. I’m sure we can find a better crêpe place in the area.

Atmosphere: loooots of seating for a place in the heart of Times Square. I was very impressed. And comfortable couches upstairs if you come with a large party, head upstairs! Cute décor and nice lighting too. Prices: eh a little pricey for froyo but I think they’re just hiked because of the stores location. My froyo I would’ve typically paid no more than $ 6 anywhere else but here it was $ 7 even with the 10% off. Froyo: loooots of flavors. I got the marshmallow and birthday cake– both delicious. The toppings could use some work. The fruits looked a little old but everything else was plentiful. Will I be back? It’s cute and all but only if I can’t find another place closer. I wouldn’t be opposed to it because of the 10% off and they also give you this awesome option of blending your toppings and froyo into a smoothie. I’d say go, but only if you’re in the area. Don’t make a special trip. :)

I was SO very excited to finally try this place out… Only to find that… They aren’t open when they said they are open. I waited until 10:06 today(had to get to work) and according to someone else who was also waiting(apparently froyo/crêpe in the morning is a thing?), they are never open on time. Maybe my expectations are too high in expecting the open times to be more exacting? Who knows. Either way, now I know«my» Duane Reade’s frozen yogurt isn’t half bad at all. #silverlining

Uptown Swirl is an intriguing place in Midtown for dessert. They serve frozen yogurt as well as crepes. I was enticed to come because I saw the one $ sign next to its name as I was frantically rummaging through Unilocal for a cheap dessert place to eat at with friends. Another thing that attracted me to this place is the fact that if you check in, you get 10% off your purchase. Admittedly, the table area was pretty unclean. It does have enough space as it has two floors; however, the décor looked plain. Some cops came up to the second floor to hang around for no reason, and then just left. That has nothing to do with my review but I thought I might as well just add that tidbit in. Onto the crepes: Sorry, I thought it was way too sweet. Although the portion was humongous, that doesn’t matter if the taste isn’t proportionally humongous. Would I come back again? Perhaps. Most likely not.

I came here with a few friends after shopping and walking around to grab a quick dessert. We found this place on Unilocal in the Times Square vicinity and saw that they offered a 10% discount off of your order if you checked in. So that’s a big plus. Overall, this place is pretty decently sized for a dessert place in Times Square. The main level was pretty narrow with the walls aligned with frozen yogurt stations and seating towards the back. If you make your way up the narrow staircase, there’s a seating area that’s decently sized. The staff could’ve done a better job cleaning up the place though. Previous customer’s dessert crumbs and sticky messes were left all along the tables and chairs. –1 star for cleanliness. I ordered froyo with 2 – 3 toppings and my total came out to about $ 7 with the Unilocal check-in. Not bad. A lot cheaper than 16 Handles. Just a heads up, don’t get the candy corn with your froyo like I did, because it does have a tendency to harden after time. Other than that, everything was good. My friends each ordered crepes and they were humongous and delicious. They were made fresh and piping hot. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and I’ll be back in the future.

5 stars for location, fast and efficient service, a yogurt and crêpe shop, value, and location! And they’re open late! Located a couple of blocks off Times Square, this little place for sure beats other choices for desserts. This is a yogurt AND crêpe shop. What can get better?!? A yogurt,
