Uncle Paul’s Pizza

We went to Uncle Pauls on two separate occasions, once for dinner take out and once for coffee. We ordered calamari, the roasted peppers with goat cheese, and fries. The calamari was extremely over cooked that we couldn’t chew it. Everything else was okay. We figured it was just a fluke. The next day we went for coffees and dessert. The cappuccino we ordered wasn’t a cappuccino. We asked them to remake it, reiterating we wanted a cappuccino not a latte and received some sass from the counter girl. It still was not a cappuccino so we asked for a refund. The counter girl because extremely rude and couldn’t be bothered.

Uncle Pauli’s got us with the rope-​a-​dope. It read Roberta’s Pizza on the map and we went for it, even though I was 99% sure there was only one Roberta’s and it was in Brooklyn. Nonetheless the pizza was good, not great, customer service was fantastic, definitely going to be a spot to check out again.

Stopped in around 1030 pm for dessert and a beer. Simple little pizza place was the right choice. Service was good and menu’s are on iPads. Beer was cold. Three stars given due to my Cannoli only being half filled. Other than that the pizzas and other items looked great and the other patrons seemed content.

Very small restaurant, probably seats no more than 20, but if you are staying at the roosevelt you can always order it to go and it will still be hot by the time you get back to your room. Ordering to go is fairly quick. They put the pizza in the oven as you order, almost like subway. Out of all the pizzas they have on menu, pepperoni is probably the best and the most popular. Can’t really go wrong with Pepperoni. They have beer and wine for drinkers, so that’s definitely a plus.

Ordered the shrimp parm hero and 2 Snaple iced tea $ 15.25.

I’m experiencing a welter of emotions as I review this establishment. On the one hand, any pizzeria you can eat/​hang out in until 3 in the morning deserves some daps. On the other hand, it bills itself as a 24 hour pizza place, which it obviously isn’t. The people who work there deserve several pats on the back for the work they do. Putting in long hours in the heart of Manhattan in order to serve the public, all while maintaining what I would consider to be immaculate-​for a pizzeria-​surroundings.
That said, the pizza is the equivalent of saltines. It’s the only pizza I’ve ever had which doesn’t elicit joy, sadness, or regret, but simply an ambivalent shrug. I have much higher tolerance for bland food than most of the people I know, but one thing I do not expect from a slice of New York pizza is landless. Even so, the garlic bread and gelato were great, although I wish I could have tried their chocolate mousse. Overall, I have decidedly good feelings about Uncle Paul’s, and would definitely return in the future.

The prosciutto parma arugula (gluten-​free) pizza was delicious! It’s been a long time since I’ve indulged in a GF pizza, because, well the crust is often just not worth it. But Uncle Paul’s … Fantastic! The caramelized figs topping was a perfect blend of flavours.

I wanted to like this place so much because it’s the closest pizza place to my office, and I love pizza! My office has also ordered pies from here before for group lunches and they’ve been good. Definitely not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but always hot /​good toppings /​on time.
However, my in-​person experiences have been less than stellar. Every time I’ve been here, the staff has been impatient and commonly very rude. I appreciate how they’re fast (especially around lunch), but have had times where they’ve given me the wrong order /​mis-​heard what I had originally asked for and were very obviously upset /​given me attitude about having to correct it. Most recently, I ordered one slice and was disappointed to not only be charged for a premium slice, but saw that the slice they had chosen to given me was significantly smaller than I ever would’ve expected (especially knowing how large slices typically are from having shared whole pies before). Maybe it was because I’m a smaller girl they thought that’d be acceptable, but I was extremely disappointed once again.

We were staying at The Roosevelt Hotel while visiting family in the city. After a long day, we stopped ducked in here to eat. The menus are on iPads (nice touch). My two guys (fiancée and his son) ordered a Margherita pie and I ordered the gnocchi pesto. My man was super happy. He’s been craving a NY pie for a long time! He was a happy! I was happy to have a vegetarian option. I asked them to hold the cheese. After the pizza was delivered the waitress came to ask if I had a dairy intolerance, I said yes. 15 minutes later my dish arrived. I’m assuming they out the cheese in and had to remake it. Either way it was delicious. We ordered the rice balls as an appetizer. The description says it had jalapeño it… ummmm it has zero flavor plus cheese so I didn’t eat it. But over all we had a great experience. It was super packed the entire time. From 10:30 — 11:40pm on a Saturday night.

As soon as you walk in the ambience is better than your average pizza place. It looks like a really cutesy Italian café with granite tables and warm lighting. But it has the nice speed of a fast pizza place.
We got two of the specialty pizzas (lasagna and chipotle). Both were above average — nice crispy crust and plenty of cheese. Prices were standard for NY.
Overall good and we’d come here again!

Ordered the Prosciutto di Parma and Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Panini. It was a sizable sandwich. Perfect for lunch. The cheese was perfectly melted and worked well with the prosciutto. Would definitely order from this place again for lunch.

The pizza is pretty good! I had pepperoni and the fiancé had pepperoni with sausage. All in all good pizza spot in midtown east New York. Would def. revisit this place. And… It’s 24hr!

Complete waste of time. Order online for pick up, call to check and get hung up on. Go an hour later to pick up and they say the order was never confirmed even though I have the confirmation email. Asked to speak to manager who may have been the worst person I have ever encountered. Beyond rude and condescending.
Avoid at all cost

For it being so late at night, and not many pizza spots to choose from, we stopped here after adventuring the city. The pies were shiny but not with grease so that’s a plus but the size of them and freshness are what threw me off. Maybe only tourists wander around that late at night looking for pizza… I had two slices, one with a bunch of meat on it and another which was buffalo chicken which both were tender and had some nice flavor. Oddly, I prefer older pizza over hot out of the oven due to the melt the cheese to the roof of your mouth like napalm feeling it gives me.
I was really hoping that the pies were bigger like the NY pizza I’ve seen pictures of! The crust was baked nice and crisp on the bottom but other than that, it didn’t really knock my socks off.

Expensive thin crust pizza, but will do the trick on those late nights in midtown. This is the back up if the 99 cent joints a block away are too busy. They have premade slices which are nicely topped and cheesed. I really liked the buffalo chicken. They have dessert, beer and wine as well. If you want to sit down at 3 am, maybe have a beer and a slice… this is probably your best option in midtown.

So glad this was open. Apparently it’s open 24 – 7. Service was ok. Pretty direct and the warm welcome at 11pm is probably what you won’t get in the evenings bit thos place was prettt busy during the late night.
The gnocchi was ok, 3 out of 5. Cost was on the pricier side $$$. I would eat there again.

Had my first slice of pizza in NYC here today. Nice staff and cute place, but the pizza is not at all memorable. The pizza was rather bland and not what I expected from a NYC pizzeria. Still, it was fine. I just wasn’t blown away. I have had better pizza in Atlanta.

The service and pizza was great. So many pizza spots in NYC and my son recommended this place.

Pedimos uma pizza no hotel para evitar o frio de –17° C … Siciliana de mushrooms e peperoni. Muito boa pizza e com um bom preço para o tamanho. Definitivamente, se estiver na região do grand central e com fome pode pedir com eles que entregam rápido

Le grand avantage de Uncle Paul Pizza est qu’il est ouvert 24h/​24. C’est un petit resto de 10 tables environs. On vous sert les softs a la canette :)
Côté pizza … Bön on est TRÈS loin de nos standards italiens!
La pâte est dure mais pas mauvaise niveau goût.
La quatre fromages à l’huile de truffe est vraiment très moyenne. Pour 20 $ (hors 20% de service) on né goûte pas l’huile de truffe et on goute 2 fromages … Un peu déçue pour le coup!
Par contre la pizza végétarien est extra ! Certes la pâte est tout aussi dure que l’autre mais sur celle ci la garniture est très généreuse ! Artichaut épinards poivrons etc
Très appétissante !
Ils proposent aussi des wraps, des pâtes, des salades etc etc et un choix de desserts et cafés
Côté service, rien à dire c’est un service très sympathique et rapide !
