Fairly good service. Mustafa had a «smarty pants» edge to him which is kind of New York attitude I am used to(apparent in the conversations below). I think he has moved on and the lady who currently handles the store is fine.

Since Adam C. Decided to give false information and attacked me personally. I will give you what really happened. When he purchased the glasses and did not pay for the transition back in December of 2014. He calls in May of 2015 almost 6 months later. To say that he paid for transitions and when we looked up his rescored. there was no payment nor any indication that he even ordered transitions but notes that he was offered transitions and did not want to pay the cost of $ 60 his insurance charged to get transitions. As far as the time the glasses came in. you have to wait until your insurance approved a remake. It took Adam just as long to bring the glasses in because since Adam only owns one pair of glasses he can’ t be without his glasses we had to get the approval from the insurance to send us the lenses instead of sending the glasses to them. Many steps with insurance we had to go through so Adam C. fees can be waived by us and the insurance. And if you would have decided to contact the insurance after almost 6 months they would have advised you that you can’t reverse the charges for having the glasses for SIXMONTHS then you call and say they are not working. Thank you so much for your input and how classy you were about all this. Just understand your insurance first please. There was no need to disrespect anyone. all the best, Mustafa

Mustafa is extremely helpful and kind. He has given me excellent service over the years and never fails to disappoint. I always get the best glasses from him, and he never hesitates to help me out when I have a problem. I recommend him wholeheartedly. I only get my glasses from him.

I have had nothing but great service from the office staff and Mustafa. The reviews on here that turned nasty should only be considered as anomalies. Mustafa has assisted me and my partner many times with our choices of frames and he has always checked back with me and my partner on how they fit, how they went for us, and if we were happy with them. While being present, I have actually heard other customers be rude and difficult to the staff here. It has to take much patience to have to deal with such people from day to day. I know for a fact that the costs that are mentioned as shocking in some of these reviews are the same and often more, in most professional offices. When I previously lived In LA just two years ago, I was to be charged more than what is being discussed here for frames and lenses. Perhaps these people did not come prepared knowing exactly how their insurance(or lack of proper insurance) would deal with their wants — as they often want more than they need… Having worked within or with UN agencies for over 18 years, I have to believe that at least some of the unflattering reviews may be from the few of that system who feel themselves entitled at every turn and throw fits when they are not dealt with like royalty. They are embarrassing, petty, difficult and are found often in this part of town. I recommend this office highly. Give it the proper try.

Want shitty service from an optician go see Mustafa. He is a liar and takes no responsibility, lucky for me I don’t pay upfront. This schmuck after first making me wait over four weeks for my glasses did not give me the transition lenses I requested and then blamed it on me, saying I didn’t order it. My last 4 pairs of lenses are transition why wouldn’t I order these the same way? He agrees to redo it and it takes another 5 weeks. He said he tried calling me and left me voice mails. The idiot didn’t even dial the number correctly. When I threatened to advise the insurance company service rendered were incorrect and payment should be withheld did I finally get some movement. Promises promises by Mustafa are crap. If I could give him a negative star rating I would. This guy is liar and CANNOT be trusted, take your business elsewhere. On the hand, I’ve never had a problem with the Optimologist Dr. Weissman. To me he has always been a straight shooter and you should not confuse his business with Mustafa, even though they are both located in the same office.

I left without ordering glasses from them(they only have about 40 frame options there), and they are now holding my perscription hostage! The company making my glasses have called them multiple times and gotten zero response. Their hours of operation are very strange, but they should still return voicemails when they actually ARE open! Very disappointed with this service, never going back here again.

I have been going to this office for several years and have always been happy with the service I receive. I am surprised to see negative comments. I have never felt that my questions were unwelcome or that I was belittled. The staff and doctor have always been patient with me, and I am not always the calmest when I’m having medical issues.

I wish I could give no stars. This place is the ABSOLUTE worst. Christine is a hack and extortionist, that is if she ever calls you back. She charged me over $ 300 dollars for my glasses when they were HALF elsewhere. FURTHERMORE, the doctor’s office that her tiny a$$ shop sits in doesn’t even explain to you that you have options. He leads you straight to her desk where she chops gum and speaks with her grating accent while she robs you. It took almost a month for me to GET my glasses. I unfortunately recently got a scratch in one of the lenses and SURPRISE I can only go to her to get it fixed. Because she kept the prescription. Funny how she still hasn’t called me back. I am filing with the BBB.

Took a chance on Dr. Marc Rubenstein using Google maps. First appointment left me unimpressed. Reception personnel were uninterested. Maybe they were busy, but aren’t we all. The technician was arguing with me about what my symptoms were. In other words, «Don’t ask questions, I’ll tell you what your problem is.» Dr. Rubenstein seems like a nice guy, but again, was somewhat condescending when I asked a couple of questions. Unfortunately, my experience got worse because despite my rather explicit instruction regarding insurance, the office personnel screwed up my insurance billing. Now I’m dealing with the insurance company to get things straightened out. Insurance tells me this office has no clue. Too bad. I really wanted to start off on a good, long-term relationship with this doctor, but they pretty much screwed up every piece of the customer experience. Good luck to them, I will not be back.
