Dr. Weintraub is pleasant and easy to communicate with. I went for a regular eye checkup and while I had to wait 1 hour past my scheduled appointment(for which I arrived 15 minutes early to) she and her assistant were duly apologetic for the delay. The checkup was fast and painless. She shares an office with several other doctors in the midtown east location(49th street) which is generally a nice area. The office environment leaves more to be desired however… disorganized papers and dust everywhere, dirty carpets, cramped space… definitely not what you’d expect from a doctor’s office. The environment felt more like an accountant’s workplace but the patients in the waiting room(most appeared severely ill, immobile or like they were about to burst a lung coughing) seemed like they needed to be in a sterile hospital environment. I would see Dr. Weintraub again but not in this location.

Dr. Weintraub is truly the best ophthalmologist ever. I have never been so well cared for by any type of physician. She performed Lasik surgery on me about 8 years ago and was so careful and thorough in her measurements in preparation of the surgery that I had absolutely no concerns about it. She explained everything to me in clear easy to understand language which was also very reassuring. It is the best decision I have ever made. She has been treating my whole family for about 15 years and I will never see another ophthalmologist as long as she is in practice. I have recommended her to several other friends and colleagues and they are all equally happy with her care. I highly recommend her.

Best ophthalmologist ever. After an urgent care center tried to convince me I had pink eye in only one eye with completely non-pink-eye-like symptoms, I got referred to Dr. Weintraub, who rather quickly diagnosed me with uveitis, which is something way more crazy and weird(and definitely not pink eye)(also not a superpower, in spite of sounding like one). Also, she’s the most calm, soothing person ever, and you want someone calm and soothing if they are sticking things in your eye. I’ve been seeing her since about 2005 and I think she’s awesome. She remembers your medical history — even the things that aren’t eyeball-related — and makes you feel like you’re important, which, come on, that’s pretty rare at a doctor’s office. I wish she could be all of my doctors! I’ve been trying to send all of my friends and family to her whenever they mention glasses or eyeballs or whatever. She’s the best.
