Quick meal, but tasty! Kinda felt like the prepared food section from Wholefoods, but with better quality and a better beer selection.

It’s good, but odd. The space is enormous, which can make it a bit impersonal and disorienting. There is a fairly nice buffet, which led me to miss that I could have ordered a freshly made omelette. Too bad, I’ll do it next time! The food was unusually good for a buffet. The seating area was not terribly attractive, but at least had room. Overall, it’s a good place when you need a quick lunch, want high quality food, and don’t need atmosphere.

Today is the last time I go to Treehaus for a long while. I went in and was the only person at the bar in the back where they make sandwiches and ordered a toasted sesame bagel with plain cream cheese because I missed the period of time where they are self serve. Easy, right? The person who took my order, looked like they had just rolled out of bed, unwashed face, unkempt, in sweats and messy hair. She couldn’t even smile or say hello. I should have just walked out. I get that the people who work here are allowed to be casual/hipster, but this was a little too much for the most expensive spot on this block. So I put in my order and got my ridiculous beeper thing,(I am still the only person in the space.) While waiting, I went to get a juice and ordered a coffee. This took probably 10 minutes. When I didn’t get a buzz(why they have these things, i don’t understand) I walked back over. Sleepy girl was standing, she asked, oh are you waiting? I just flashed my beeper. Turns out, they hadn’t even started my order. So I just waited and she just handed me my order like I was begging for something. I had to ask for a napkin. When I opened my bagel, it was burned, on half was scallion cream cheese, and the other half was plain. I spent 30 minutes for a burned bagel that was slapped together. Somehow people preferred this place over the other smaller places that have now gone out of business on 3rd Ave. It’s really sad. Those quick bagel/coffee sandwich places were great if you wanted to be in and out quickly. I’ll go stand in line at Ess-a-bagel before I go back here.

Pricy midtown breakfast/lunch buffet disguised as something more. They do have a large coffee counter to get your fancy caffeine fix. It’s a nicer environment than your standard midtown lunch spot.

Good lunch option that’s across the street from work. It’s pricey, but consistently high quality(not to mention convenient). I’ve only had their buffet and coffee, but their salad and sandwiches do look good. The coffee isn’t as good as Fika, but decent enough. The hot buffet is good, although it could stand to be refreshed quicker during the lunch rush.

This place is huge. They have a café with typical breakfast food and a bunch of fruit, then another area to order lattes and bagels. You just take your café box and get it weighed for pricing. Seating is good cause it goes upstairs, where there’s a sushi bar! We were there for breakfast so no sushi for us. Overall great chill place to grab something to eat, health conscious or not.

I feel so fortunate to work so close to Treehaus — hands down favorite lunch place with an amazing hot bar, chopped salad bar, and a sushiritto! The kale tofu salad at the hot bar is wonderfully seasoned and my go-to, along with the beets and Brussels sprouts. Super fast and convenient, and the lines go really quickly. The chopped salad line takes a little longer, so I’d go for the hot bar if I were strapped for time.

Not easy trying to grab a quick breakfast(even from a buffet) at 8:30AM in Midtown Manhattan. In fact, it’s outright painful! Upon first glance from the street, Treehaus looked solid. Its clean, has a large selection of items, and best of all, not much of a line. NOLINE should have tipped me off, OK? I pulled a bagel off the buffet, and took it to be toasted. Simple, right? 8 minutes later, still not toasted. I inquired, and within seconds out came the bagel, barely even warm. I asked for them to «toast» it,(i.e. so the bread was actually«brown».) What came back was incinerated beyond recognition. The cup of coffee I filled from the self-serve cannister was tepid, not hot. Clearly, the reason Treehaus had no lines(while Ess-A-Bagel across the street was rockin’ & rollin’) was customer service). Even though the steam table food looked good enough to eat, the customer service was lacking. What’s worse, is that you will surely be late to the office!

I have no idea why I still didn’t post a review for my favorite local food spot that serves so well on my busy tight days! The place that combines anything you can imagine in one spot: excellent juice and salad bar, always fresh variety of food and snacks and of course delightful coffee with desserts! Very welcoming stuff, I wish they had more locations. Gramercy or Flatiron would be excellent:) Love you guys!

I really wanted to like this place because the concept is great. Quick, easy, and seemingly great food selection. I got the buffet around 10:30 am, everything looked great initially. The first bad sign was when I went to pay and my total came to $ 25 for an Honest green tea and my to go box from the buffet. Everything was cold. The vegetable frittata was rubbery and grey, I did not eat it for fear of becoming sick. The fruit was hard, not ripe, and inedible. Tater tots were hard and cold. I will not waste my time or money here again.

If they took the buffet and beverage section out of a Whole Foods and stuck it in a coffee shop, you might get this restaurant. They charge by weight here, $ 6.50-ish per half pound. Mine came in just under $ 13, not too bad for a hot meal with salad and fixings. The selection was pretty good with decent variety, from chicken and salmon and lots of different cooked and raw veggies. I had an iced mocha to wash it down and it was ok. They also offer different sandwiches/subs made to order for lunch. If you need a quick, reasonably healthy meal, there are worse places.

Compared with other catering places like Essen or dishes, Treehaus for sure did a better job in terms of food selection — from roasted turkey to hanger steak to spicy chicken wings to sausage, just the perfect spot for a meat lover like me! They even had sushi at the corner, so surprising! I also enjoyed their inside décor a lot — simple yet neat. Price was at the high end, however it was justified for the environment and good quality. If it is not too far, I will come in more often for sure.

I really love the food and smoothies at Treehaus, but giving it more than 3 stars would be validating its absurd prices. Treehaus is right across the street from my office, so I often come here for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, depending on the day and how much of a hurry I’m in. I know what I’m getting into with Treehaus every time, but I can never resist: the options are always so healthy and I love that I can choose what I want in a buffet-style setting. Today I came here for lunch and got my usual: some salmon with caesar salad and some spaghetti squash with a creamy mushroom sauce, all self-serve at the buffet. At checkout, it weighed about 2 pounds, which means it was about $ 25. I shit you not. I could get a gourmet meal for that price, but whatever. I didn’t have time to go anywhere else, and similar buffets in the area are just as pricy, so what can you do? The food is great quality and the fish is always fresh and flaky, so I don’t complain… I just go here as little as possible. I’m also a huge fan of their smoothies, which are made with fresh fruit and taste as delicious as they are healthy. Again, these are $$$, but they’re a fun treat when I’m in a rush. Treehaus also has a counter to order sandwiches, crepes, etc., but I’ve never tried it. I’ve heard it’s just as expensive, so I would go somewhere else if you want something that basic. Don’t come here to save money; come here because you don’t want fast food but you also don’t have time to wait in the line at Chop’t that always takes 5ever.

There are a million of these places in NYC — the pseudo-cafeteria, pseudo-convenience store, pseudo-deli, pseudo-coffeehouse place that sells everything ready-to-be-consumed, both packaged and in-house made. All of them are okay, mainly for quick to-go meals when you’re too busy at lunch or on your way to work in the morning. I would not consider them anything of a culinary destination, to be sure. Treehaus may be the nicest, best-tasting among them. The place looks clean & modern, the set up is quite nice unlike most of these places which look more convenience store than restaurant. Their made food is fresh, and I must say quite good. I had the stuffed cabbage, brussel sprouts salad, and kale, quinoa, & chickpea cous-cous. All were surprisingly good! Here was my issue. That combo, along with a cup of ginger green tea(packaged, not brewed) came to $ 15 and change. It’s not like I got a huge amount, I would say on the light to medium lunch size. Now, that’s too much for this type of food, for that size. So the food is probably 3.5 stars, service was quite good, and atmosphere nice, but combine this concept with that price tag and it’s solid 3 stars and no more. Table-for-1 Factor: These places are ideal for eating by yourself — get your food, go to cashier & pay, and grab an available table(like a food court) and eat.

I would say 2.5 I am always biased towards healthier restaurant… However, everything is so overpriced here that I rather pick healthy options at an overall regular/average place. Even a simple kind bar which is normally $ 2 – 2.50 is $ 3 here. They do have a nice gluten-free and even locally made paleo items, which are a treat. The food was okay, but small in portion for the price. I am suspect of the cauliflower purée because it tasted heavily buttered, but I could be wrong and butter is delicious, so. not exactly a complaint. The smoked fish was cooked nicely, but wasn’t too flavorful. Garlic broccoli tasted clean and healthy. Probably won’t return, but glad I tried it because I walk by it a lot on my way to work and curiosity kills.

It’s a deli on PEDs. And it costs a lot. Went here twice on one day, and I’m still not sure what I was thinking. Got here around 8am hoping to get a breakfast sandwich. There’s a counter toward the back where you order, run by two cashiers and a kitchen staff behind them. You get a buzzer after you order. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on texas toast and it came out to nearly 6 $(including tax). I don’t think I’ve ever paid more than 5(maybe I’m cheap?). The sandwich was pretty good, actually. They did not skimp on the bacon, and the bread had good texture and everything tasted fresh. The same day, I was working late, and had little time to get dinner. So I went here to get food from their hot buffet. First, the buffet is also very expensive — they charge about 6.70 per HALF-pound. Yikes. The selection isn’t significantly bigger than other places, and the food wasn’t memorable. I get that it’s Midtown East and things are going to be a little expensive. But I’ve also found a decent number of cost-effective options around here, so as much as I like the overall vibe of the place(very clean, room to walk around, larger sitting areas), I can’t see myself going here too often.

Oh lawd, Whenever I need my Reuben fix I am always glad I can mosey on over to Treehaus. The staff is excellent and very polite even over the phone which is awesome. I got the Reuben which is Pastrami, Muenster, Caramelized Sauerkraut, Russian Dressing on Marbled Rye. I already want another one after listing ingredients. Nothing is more awesome than when you split open a sandwich and MELTEDCHEESESTRETCHESWIDEOPENASYOUPULLTHEHALVESAPART. YOULL! Anyway, the sandwich itself is great, the bread is good and it’s still warm even when I get back to my office. If you are Midtown and you need a sandwich Treehaus has something for you!

Treehaus has a healthy feel about it. Could it be the sign on the door as I walked in that advertised«Gluten free Fridays»? The food looks fresh and is nicely laid out. They were cleaning up and bringing even more fresh food out as I was deciding what to try. I decided on brown rice, braised collard greens, pichana sirloin(fresh out see pics) and kale. It tasted as it looked, really good. There is a grill section called Grill Haus. And at the very back and on opposite sides, a smoothie and salad bar You can also purchase their sauces such as cider braised onions, peppered orange, salad dressing etc, all displayed on shelves at the back. There are two levels. Limited(window) seating downstairs but upstairs is a large dinning area. The restrooms are upstairs as well.
Treehaus is really clean except for the restroom area and even the beautiful fresh flowesr didn’t help camouflage the mess in there. But it was just after lunch so maybe, just maybe it was wrong timing for me. Overall experience lovely, plus I made a friend. #I’mTooFriendlySometimes Sorry about the hashtag lol not sorry.

Now that I’m a frequent customer, I’d like to share my experience in a little more detail. The buffet options are usually the same but never lack in flavor. The breakfast selection is a little boring though; their eggs are runny — yuck. I always go to grill and get them made to order. They’re now doing Gluten-Free Fridays — which should help me get right for the weekend. Even though, come Sunday night, I’ll be face down in a pint of Haagen Dazs Caramel Cone.(You’re welcome) Their coffee is really bad. Skip it. It’s so watered down and bland. This goes for the mochas, lattes, cappuccinos, all of them. I’ve tried them all and they all taste watered down. It’s a great spot to pick up a quick lunch or sit down with coworkers. Aside from the inedible coffee the only other negative is how pricey they are. I paid $ 14 for a sandwich, chips and a canned soda. New York, NY right?
