I’ll try this place again, maybe on a Monday for the oyster special and have a flatbreads. It was«ok» to say the least, while our waiter was friendly she seemed like she didn’t want to be there. The food came out way too fast– but then again the place was empty on a Saturday night… My Husband ordered the flank steak(med-well) and it was rare! I got the shrimp pasta dish and it was ok, tad too rich. The overall feel of the place and menu seemed good. Since we just moved around the corner we were hoping for more of a local go to place. We will try again however.

Although the outside of the building doesn’t look appealing, the ambiance in door is classy and a little artsy. The place is dim lit with leather chairs and stool. The staff is friendly and attentive. The portions are generous and everything was tasty. Nothing extraordinary that blew me away. I recommend the lobster Mac and cheese. It was very well seasoned and very creamy with big chunks of lobster. Pass on the quinoa salad. I appreciated all the textured with the arugula and apple but the flavor was very subtle.

New Years is a special time. You get to reflect on the past year. Kiss someone when the ball drops. Celebrate with friends. Pay an outrageous fee to get home. It’s special. After an early pre game party at my friend’s house, a bunch of us went to Trading Post to ring in the new year. There’s many things they did real well. And somethings where they missed the mark. We had reserved three tables in the back for our crew. We roll deep. We could of apparently done the entire downstairs room to ourselves, but not everyone agreed so upstairs it was. The beer selection here is fantastic. They have something for everyone. The cocktails were made perfectly. My Manhattan was spirit forward the way I like it. The wine list is also pretty extensive. Drinks were not an issue at all. Our server was great. Working NYE is rough enough, but now doing it a large group of people getting drunk. That’s real rough. She was attentive and friendly. Kudos to the staff. Shoutout to the bartenders. My only quarrel was with some of the food. Somethings were good. Somethings weren’t. I got the lobster mac and cheese. This was not lobster mac and cheese. This was lobster in a cheesy soup with flavorless pasta shells. My entrée was also disappointing. I ordered the burger, and it was exactly how I ordered it on the inside, but it was charcoal on the outside. It was as if they were swamped with orders so they cooked it really high, real quick. Getting it to the level I wanted it at on the inside but burnt on the outside, which if you know me I hate. My friend’s steak was actually really good. I was surprised. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. The fries that came with my burger weren’t special. The flatbreads were mixed. The shrimp one was the best thing I tried that night. The other ones were alright. My friend’s pasta was bland, but I would figure that from this place. In the end, we had a wonderful time. They really hooked it up. The staff here is amazing. The drinks are fantastic. The food is mixed. Could have been the night with the NYE staff, or it could just be select items on the menu. I’ll be sure to come back though. This is a great spot.

Nice place, okay experience. They building is wonderfully finished inside with several large places for private parties. Their door man was very friendly and helpful and seemed to be on top of most everything. I slipped on a step walking upstairs from the bathroom, he was checking on my safety. If only the experience with our server was the same. On that same trip away, I returned to a frustrated wife who still hadn’t been seen by a server for drinks. She ended up going to the bar and was told that a server would come to our table. The service was so slow that after I suggested having another drink, I was promptly given the«let’s get our check and get out of here signal» from my lady: a thumb pulled from one side of her neck to another. She does the same thing when she’s mad at me. The drinks were good, the ambiance nice, but the service unsatisfactory. We may stop back if we’re in the neighborhood to see if the experience improves.

We grabbed dinner at the Trading Post after funding ourselves in the Seaport area after an appointment. It’s located on a quiet block a minute or two walk from the water. Overall we enjoyed our experience, but included some specifics below: Pros: –great location, not far from the seaport waterfront area or cobblestone streets of the neighborhood –beautifully decorated for Christmas, inside and out –huge restaurant with two floors of dining and drinking –lots of spaces for private groups and parties — seems to be a popular place for holiday gatherings –huge drink menu with lots of good wines and beers to choose from Cons: –service was initially really really slow: after 10 minutes of sitting down no waitress had come to take our order. We couldn’t find anyone to ask so had to go back to the hostess who ended up taking our order herself! The man refilling waters however was on top of things – couldn’t praise him more! –food was average, we had the burger and the sweet potato risotto. Both were fine but for the price were expecting a bit more. Will go with a flatbread next time I think Overall a nice place for a drink in the neighborhood, particularly if you’re with a larger group!

Had a burger here for lunch and it was pretty good. Maybe a little pricey at $ 16 but that’s who they attract. Also remember coming here for a few drinks for happy hour, and it’s not bad but certainly not the best in the area. Relatively fancy place, and service is alright.

came here for lunch on a weekday with like 12 of my coworkers. the upstairs is so amazing! comfy weather leather sofa chairs and benches, beautiful décor(especially during christmas time! so pretty). our waiter was awesome, and the service in general was fantastic. the skirt steak was very popular amongst my coworkers. we also tried the steak sandwich, the risotto, and the tagliatelle. all was super delicious! i can’t wait to come back to this spot and try out the downstairs, and try some dranks!

So good! This place is adorable and everything we ordered was perfect. The wedge salad is the best I’ve ever had and sausage flat bread is great and fresh. Service is unbelievable. I will definitely go back.

Went here a while ago for dinner. The server was quick and helpful and the food was delicious. We started out with oysters, which were nice and fresh. The mains were nice and flavorful, and we even stayed for dessert! It’s a bit slow later on at night which is great for finding a good restaurant without the wait.

Service here is great. Came with a party of about 14 last night. The food is typical new American, I think. Scottish Salmon, Burger, Risotto, Flatbread etc,… I ordered the butternut squash risotto with goat cheese. It was delicious, but I have had better. They have delicious pinot noir and cote du rhone offered by the glass. Will I be coming back? Probably not. The vibe is just not for me and filled with Wall Street bros. Good to know its decent though.

Mostly all positive things: 1) great atmosphere 2) really friendly hostess/server/staff and very accommodating 3) great all day happy hour on Saturdays and Sunday’s The only thing I thought was that it was a bit overpriced – even for the nice atmosphere and location, it seemed a bit too expensive for what I got(in terms of food)

I came here for a work happy hour on a Wednesday night! The place was pretty quiet and generally felt more suitable for a laid back /casual hangout. The restaurant itself has the décor of a pub but has a rather trendy menu(ex. Pork belly sliders, lobster fried rice, etc). I only tried the fries, which were pretty ordinary by themselves, but luckily they were paired with a delicious aioli sauce. My fried had the mussels, which she found unsatisfying because the mussels were small and a lot of them were empty. The beer selection on the other hand was pretty expansive. I had a good olé Guinness and was very satisfied.

3.5 stars. I had a good experience here, but it wasn’t particularly memorable and I’m not particularly enticed to go back. Pros: –They have a large selection of quality beers on draft for $ 7 – 8, which is extremely reasonable for FiDi. I tried the Goose Island IPA per the bartender’s suggestion and it was delicious-just the right level of hoppy. In general they had quite a few IPA’s, which I really appreciated. –It’s not super crowded(at least not on a Wednesday evening) and there’s plenty of space. Everything is clean and looks well maintained. I wasn’t a huge fan of the décor though-it seemed a tad bit stuffy and dark.(That’s just my personal preference though.) Cons: –I didn’t really try much food, but I did have their fries and they were pretty average. I thought they lacked seasoning and crispiness. Would definitely be willing to give other items on the menu a go though. –In general everything seemed excessively expensive. The cocktails(small selection) were all around $ 15 and the bar snacks/appetizers were pricey as well($ 15 – 20). –The vibe was not really there-it wasn’t too lively.(Could have been a week day thing though).

For me, Trading Post is one of the FiDi restaurants that I know I can rely on when I am undecided on those nights when I need to sit down somewhere nice but not overpriced. The bar area is spacious, clean, and comfortable. Service is always terrific. And the food is well above average tavern fare… on my last visit I had the Scottish Salmon and it was cooked perfectly. What you will find here is a well-renovated space, lots of beautiful wood and little nooks that create an intimate atmosphere.

Stopped by here for happy hour before dinner. Unfortunately I wanted oyster and cocktail happy hour, but oyster happy hour is only on Mondays. We ended up getting whiskey ginger and whiskey sour, I thought we’d get house whiskey for it to be included in the happy hour deal but we were charged for jack daniels. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the happy hour I expected. But one good thing out of it was how smooth oure drinks were made, just enough whiskey and mix that neither one overwhelmed each other.

I really wanted to like this place but it missed the mark. Bartender was sweet and did a great job with my specialty cocktails but neglected to bring me the delicious looking house made chips that came out with everyone else’s meal but mine. Pepper crusted tuna was a miss. Pepper should only have been on one side rather than two as it was completely overwhelming. Carrot infused tapioca was a strange, tasteless gelatinous goo. Rhubarb Apple cobbler is actually a crisp(which is good) and instead of including the vanilla ice cream as advertised, they used a dollop of rock hard peppermint ice cream. Fortunately(?) it was a minuscule amount so it wasn’t that bad.

Ended up here after our original place was a no go. First seeing this, the outside is easy to pass up, though inside has a nice dating ambience. There were many here just after work. Food wise, we didn’t get too crazy, kept it very simple with the angus burger and the sausage flatbread. The burger pattie itself was much smaller than the bun, but despite this it was very juicy with a nice charred taste. The fries are fries. accompanied with curry mayo though, brought a brand new taste that I’m still not sure where it sits with me. I’d try it again. The sausage flatbread may have been a little over done but the sausage and broccoli rave were very well made for toppings. Honestly though, flatbreads are my girlfriends thing than it is mine. She thought it was not the best but pretty good. Overall nothing too spectacular here but in all fairness we may return again for drinks and appetizers.

Came here for my bday dinner with my fiancée. Interior is beautiful but food was okay. I only enjoyed the butcher’s cured meat, the angus burger was dry, and spicy shrimp flat bread was okay.

A beautiful and classic restaurant located in FiDi, I had lunch here a while ago after spending an afternoon near the South Street Seaport. It felt like I was walking back in time, the décor made me feel like I was sitting in a restaurant the way I imagine it would have looked like back in this district’s original historic setting with its tin plate ceilings, dark wooden panels and beautiful glass chandeliers. I enjoyed a beet salad but the seafood is what people should be coming here for. My lunch companion got the muscles and it smelled amazing.

Only came for drinks… Ambiance is definitely swanky, great for date night or taking your clients for business meeting From a drink perspective, the variety of house made drinks are industry standard with no frills. While I didn’t hate my drink, it certainly didn’t make me want to go back for another We didn’t get food this time due to how late it was but based on the pictures they looked good Overall Thoughts Come for the ambiance, maybe the food, but not sure about the drinks
