went there with my family on a nice september day. we sat outside and had a great view of the water. the bar was not extensive. they had a decent liquor selection but only had grapefruit juice and a few sodas. i ordered a corona and they didnt have limes. go for the scenery, not the drinks.

This review is NOT at all for the food and after reading the other two reviews — i would never order grub from here… That being said, they really dont offer much of a variety. However, It is a great location by the water. Selection of two beers: a dark German one and Coors Light, the latter of which i went with. At $ 7 a pop, its not cheap; but it sure is great to sit outside, across the water, next to the South Street Seaport and catch a breeze by a beautiful park. Directly across the bar, there is seating along the water, and under the sun with some scattered benches(most of which are close to the greenery). Right next to the bar are rows of seats in the shade, where alot of people in the FiDi grab a spot for lunch. I usually bring lunch or get food from somewhere else before coming here. My friend and I then opt to pop a squat by a barrel on metal chairs or right in the sun on lounge-style chairs. Overall, its a nice little bar to grab a brew with a beautiful view during the Summer, but that’s all i would recommend it for.

I wish there was an option to give this place No stars. I never wrote a negative review or felt the need to, until now! I actually signed up on Unilocal JUST to write a review about this place… Everything this woman(below) said, is completely ACCURATE! This place was such a let down & huge disappointment. I wish I could have my money & time back! What a waste of a location! The food was HORRIBLE, Service was just as bad, prices aren’t worth the crap they serve, how hard is it to screw up a taco? Not to mention I FOUND A HAIRINMY Watery Chicken Taco! I felt like throwing up, DON’T BOTHERWITHTHISPLACE!

A new outdoor café facing the water — on the East River Esplanade. Tourists, bike riders, locals, Wall Street types. Flowers…paved brick paths. Sounds perfect… but this café is a blight on the area. It is mostly deserted despite outdoor sitting for about 50 people. Why ? Really blaring music. sticky plastic seats. Food is a disgrace… sort of food cafeteria, soggy tacos, sad hot dogs. A bit like a bad school cafeteria. FDR would roll over in his grave. So sad… who on earth could screw up a location like this ? The city tax payers(and I’m one of them) have invested much revamping this whole area… and it does indeed look amazing… a decent café would be wonderful. Something like Financier(the chain of coffee/sandwich and pastry cafes) would be mobbed. All their other locations are. Why do business owners think that the lowest of the low food and ambiance is what tourists and locals want. Shame on the owners of this dive.
