I ordered ‘Ginger Beef Bento Lunch Special’. It took about 15minutes to prepare it even though there was just 1 order in front of me. Once I got the food, beef pieces/cubes were extremely hard and chewy. I think they were very overcooked. I almost chocked trying to chew and swallow them. Miso soup was very plain and watery. Pretty sure it was just a cheap supermarket packet of instant miso. Rice was also plain and tasteless. They did not cook it with vinegar or any spices. Overall extremely mediocre experience. Does no justify the claim of being«Japanese fast food». There are many better Japanese restaurants less than half a block away from this one. Go there.

I’d love to give them a three… but the flavor of my dish just wasn’t grand enough to trump the absolute hassle which was the delivery process. I ordered the Steak Soba Noodles. They were good in themselves. They weren’t overcooked and the brown sauce was quite yummy. The dish was pretty tepid by the time it arrived. And I’ve had better. But it wasn’t bad, especially seeing as my office paid for it :-) But 15 minutes after I placed the Seamless Web order, someone calls to tell me to come down to the lobby of my office building. I go down. No one is there. I go to the receiving room. No one. I go to the other entrance of the building. No one. I go back up to the office. I call them. Turns out they just called to say the guy was on his way so that I would be in the lobby when he arrived. Oh, hell no! I made sure they knew how unacceptable that was for any delivery, but particularly a corporate one! I tell them not to call back until the man is in the building and waiting for me. I’m not a big snob that way. But come on! I’m doing my job, trying to meet my deadline and you are a restraurant providing a service for me. I am not here to wait for you. Anyhoo, the gentleman who arrived couldn’t apologize enough for the actions of the lady from the restaurant. We mended things and went about our separate ways. I had lunch, enjoyed it, but have never had a huge inclination to order from them again.

What was I thinking before. This place kind of sucks. Its OK for a quick fix, but definitely nothing to seek out. AVOIDTHESUSHI!

Simple, tasty, Japanese fast food, at a great value($ 6.25 for 16 pieces of sushi– not including their current 15% off«grand opening» promotion). Their shrimp tempura roll is especially good. Yes, service can be slow, but they make everything fresh, which I think makes it worth the wait. Calling ahead to place the order helps. I’ve been by a few times, and the guys behind the counter have always been super-nice.

Nothing special. Nothing wrong with the food. Though I was upset they didn’t give me a few of the low-sodium soy sauce packets… I did pick up and it was ready when I got there(15 min). The place is tiny. I don’t recommend dining in. But pick up? Sure.

Tokyo 11 is a hole in the wall joint and as such you don’t walk in expecting the service of a Michelin rated establishment. With that said, while the food is a good value, the service can be very slow. Very very slow. You’ll easily wait 20 minutes for ramen noodles if you just walk in. Some might think this sounds a bit bourgeois. But this is a restaurant about the size of a walk-in closet. So there is some reasonable expectation of speed here. The other thing that was perplexing was that you can find 3 or 4 people in the actual kitchen and yet it seems to have no effect on timeliness. I’d still recommend going as the food is pretty good, just order it at least 15 minutes before hand and you’ll be fine.

During a stroll down 31st Street after work, I decided to order a small bit of take-out after seeing Tokyo II for the first time a few weeks ago. I ordered two maki rolls, one was a spicy california roll and the other a spicy tuna roll. After waiting nearly twenty minutes with no discernable customers ahead of me or customers who ordered after me, I got my order. After 15 minutes, the cashier apologized, to me, but by that time, I was already annoyed. I didn’t even complain, but the cashier knew there was no way a two-roll order could take so long. He made two trips down a trap door to retrieve or to make the order himself. Whatever was the case, when I got home and ate the food, I discovered why it took so long. The spicy tuna, tasted like day-old tuna lightly marinated with spicy chili powder. The rice was no better and a bit mealy. The California roll on the other hand was a bit more edible. In conclusion, a one-star«Methinks not» rating is in order.

I waited ANHOUR for 1 shrimp tempura roll, 1 spicy salmon roll, 2 pcs of salmon sashimi, and 1 order of pork gyoza and I have a one hour lunch break. I have never waited that long for food before and I never would have expected to have to wait that long for some rolls at a hole-in-the wall that boasts it is fast. It was extremely frustrating to see other people who ordered AFTER me getting their food before me and when I go to the cashier to ask, I am ignored for over 15 minutes until someone finally acknowledges me and tells me he doesn’t know how much longer it will be. He says possibly another 5 more minutes but it was wayyy longer than that. I saw that they didn’t actually throw in the shrimp tempura to fry until 50 minutes after I ordered and that the only thing that was ready to go at that point was the gyoza. This place may be new, but that’s when it’s most important to get things right. When I was finally able to eat the food, I have to admit the shrimp tempura roll tasted really good(maybe because I was starving at that point) and fresh but the pork gyoza was really cold(since it was sitting there for an hour). Overall, I would never go back here again. unless I order 40 minutes in advance.

This place is great for take-out, a good choice for a quick and healthy lunch and dinner. If you don’t want to wait, call 15 mins before you want to pick up your food. they can also deliver. Tokyo 11 is a really small place, there’s not much seating area except for maybe 4 or 5 bar stools and a table that lines the wall, so it wouldn’t be very comfortable to dine in. Note: this is a small sushi bar, not a restaurant with tables. You can see that the food is prepared fresh though(as opposed to pre-made sushi rolls like other fast food sushi), because you can see them cooking in the kitchen. For 3 people/3 meals, I got a Rainbow Roll($ 6), Dragon Roll($ 6), and Salmon Hibachi combo with rice, miso soup, and veggies($ 9 for the set). The Salmon was really good. The rice and miso soup were also good, but any japanese place can’t really go wrong with those. The veggies and rolls were so-so, not bad, but I’ve had better elsewhere. But they were a great value for the price. My favorite pro for this place is that their food seems healthy, and is a relatively cheap place to call & grab-n-go.

Ordered takeout from here today since it’s a take-out only place not a sit down. Everything tasted really bland. I ordered beef negimaki but inside was radish… not onion. The sushi tasted bland, the salad dressing was bland and as I ate more of it, it just got to the point of gross. The daicon in the salad was so stale I couldn’t even finish eating it. Everything just felt bland and tasteless, and considering the area I’d rather try someplace else next time.

Ugh. I ordered a katsudon. What I got was a plate of sauteed mushrooms and red peppers with a side of rice. That’s…not katsudon. I also ordered jalapeño yellowtail, since I’d never had that before and wanted to know what it tastes like. I assume it’s supposed to taste like, uh, something. Then to top things off, not only did I have to repeat my order 3 times on the phone(each time after the guy confirmed everything I said to him), but then they called me up 5 minutes later to ask me to repeat it AGAIN.
