The food was decent. Service was excellent which made for a very enjoyable lunch. Highly recommend the sushi pizza appetizer.

BEWARE!!! The sushi was good but the service could have been way better. The first host took my friend and I’s order while talking on the phone and after taking our drink order, she stepped outside and then came back with my beverage. She brought me a glass of ice and the cup was so filthy, I than asked for another glass and that glass as well was disgusting. After taking our food order again while being on the phone, the next host brought out our food and then went MIA for 20 minutes. When we were about to leave, the host kept pointing out that the bill did not include gratuity and demanded that we give her a tip. Before leaving she explains to us that after eating in the restaurant for so long she deserved a tip, which was beyond rude. Why give some a tip for such terrible service… DEFINITELYWILLNEVERGOBACKTHEREAGAIN!

Is $ 5 for the avocado tempura roll a tad outrageous for a vegetarian roll? Sure. Do I think sushi restaurants everywhere should start serving it? Dear god, absolutely! The yaki tori lunch special($ 9) is $ 1 less than the regular-sized entrée but comes with either miso soup or salad. It felt a little expensive for how small the container was, but if you aren’t overly concerned with value, it’s the perfect portion size for a not-too-filling lunch. While I am only a desk-chained delivery customer, I give Iron Sushi four stars for their inventive sushi flavors, varied entrée options(for when I want something more filling), a reasonable delivery minimum, and their willingness to deliver tempura ice cream(although I have yet to try, because I would honestly be too devastated if it got to me all melted)

Good Sushi, the worst service I have ever received in NYC. I ordered from Iron Sushi on seamless for lunch at work. When the delivery person arrived he screamed into the phone that the delivery was here. I went to the lobby to get it where he started yelling at me in Chinese. I asked him what the problem was, which he could not articulate to me. He finally threw, and I literally mean THREW the bag of sushi at me(which contained hot soup, by the way). When I called the restaurant to complain, I was accosted a second time and given a half assed«Sorry». I will never order from them again. Sushi places in midtown are a dime a dozen. I could go two doors down and get the same quality with a better attitude.

Why I made the decision to come here I’ll never know… It was close. It was sort of empty and the lady at the desk was also my server. Not too friendly and she seemed annoyed. I ordered a water and a tea. It took almost 5 minutes to get because she decided to take care of adjusting her credit tips first. When I asked for sugar for my tea she got really annoyed and threw her hands up lol. I guess that was the wrong request. The sushi was pretty good but now I see why they are empty with zero people, zero music and zero manners.

This is about the take-out, but I still think it’s a good basis to the judge the food. I’ve ordered from here twice, and both times the sushi is consistent, fresh, and good. They offer a huge menu of rolls, and it’s all reasonably priced. Any sushi you could dream up, they have it, as well as a long list of cooked items. My go tos are the tuna avocado(add the crunch, it adds a bit of texture!) and the AAC. Avocado, Asparagus, and Cucumber. It’s like a salad in the roll. I also liked the Kim Chee soup — I am a fan of Kim Chee and it isn’t that spicy. Only downside is that I think it may have been a bit salty(or it may have been the soy sauce. note to self, ask for low sodium next time). All in all, good stand-by sushi delivery.

One of the worst sushi places I’ve been to. Poor service, below average food. Taste was off. Slow music from the 80’s…

Just ordered the chicken udon lunch special. I think they should rename this dish ‘dog food delight’, though I’m not completely certain a dog would even eat it. In the spirit of fairness, it came with a salad which was pretty good. Never again.

Definitely will be back!!! Great portions and from the first bite I noticed how fresh the sushi was. I got a shrimp tempura and spicy tuna roll and can honestly say not one thing was wrong with it. Staff was friendly and helpful and the overall restaurant has a nice, calm atmosphere. Well worth your money, I would recommend. :)

I always order take out and their sushi is delicious. Their service however is just ok. They have forgotten spicy mayo or siracha but then always send someone to deliver it. If you’re looking for decent sushi at a decent price, this is your place.

I find I agree with most all of the positives I’ve read in the reviews here, and feel I came in on the right night! Fresh beautiful food, just as desired, reasonable portions & prices. Very friendly Sammy took great care of me, answered my questions & even offered a few«bless yous» offering tissues to aid my unexpected sneeze attack. Thank you Sammy & Iron Sushi! I’ll be back!

I stumbled in here because it was the closet restaurant I saw and I was starving. I should have been tipped off by the fact that it was empty. The only other people in the restaurant were the waiters and delivery people lounging around in the back. It took forever to get anyone’s attention and order because they were too busy talking to each other. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and what I received was the saddest, driest piece of cardboard I’ve ever eaten. I could probably make better chicken in the microwave. If this is my punishment for not Unilocaling an establishment first– well, lesson learned.

I would leave«0» stars if I could, but it’s not an option. I get delivery from Iron Sushi on average about twice a week for the past three years. After today’s experience, I will NEVER order from them again. I have no qualms with the food. It’s average sushi. The food has never failed me. But the f*ing DELIVERYGUY. WTF. He gave me the worst and the biggest stank face I have ever gotten in my life because he had to sit in our nicely air conditioned lobby while I came downstairs to pick up my order. Our building doesn’t allow delivery guys to come up to our apartment or leave the food with the doorman. He just sat with his f*ing legs crossed and refused to interaction with me. Just sat there. I was like, «Um… Iron Sushi delivery?» Silence. «Hello?» Silence. «Okay… Do I need to sign for this?» Silence. Just sat there with a f*ing stank face. There are too many sushi places in the Murray Hill/Kips Bay area to order from. I don’t think I need to endure such RUDENESS from a deliver guy.

I have never had such an appalling dining experience before. I ordered the beef Japanese curry. What came instead was BROTH with some bits of boiled beef in it. At first, I was so confused that I thought they had given me an entirely different dish altogether. After speaking to the staff, they informed me that what I had WAS the curry and that«maybe they had put too much coconut broth in it.» Who do you have working in your kitchens? I’m sure there are tons of internet recipes out there for Japanese curry — you can even buy the instant curry cubes that they sell in supermarkets! Japanese curry should in no way have the consistency of — I kid you not — water. Absolutely disgusting and a total rip off. I don’t think I should even have had to pay for this meal. I paid for an order of curry, NOT soupy, watery broth. I will not be eating or ordering from here again and I absolutely do not recommend anyone else doing the same.

Iron Sushi Bistro. Aren’t bistros a French thing? But uh, I know it really doesn’t matter. I ordered two rolls for lunch from Iron, a banana tempura and spicy tuna and a shrimp, avocado, salmon, and fish roe. It was nice to have the funky option of banana tempura, but the rolls were no better or worse than any other take-out sushi establishment. All the fish was fresh, all the rice was rice? There’s not much to say here, another«is what it is,» sushi restaurant in midtown.

Pretty confused about this place, don’t think it’s very Japanese. I got the spicy seafood nabe, it was just an OK. The nabe was almost equivalent as the seafood tofu casserole in most Chinese places. Also, it was not spicy at all.

Iron Sushi Bistro is a pleasant surprise. I would have never figured that sushi of any sort would be fresh at all, especially at such a remote location, or quieter part of the city. When you get there, the majority of the orders appear to be for take out, rather than dine-in, which I myself have to lay claim to. Chicken Curry($ 12) — Served with Soup or Salad, White or Brown Rice. I was very surprised at how delicious this dish was. Some may argue that it is your typical borderline yellow Japanese curry that you could come to expect from the instant variation, but in a good way. The chicken was tender and did a good job soaking up some of the flavors of the curry. And don’t forget to mix the curry with the brown rice… Mmmmm, mmmmm delicious! Maybe this brought back memories of making instant S&B Golden Curry in college, but for some reason, I was really loving it! Deluxe Sashimi($ 21) — 18 pcs. of assorted raw fish including salmon, tuna, yellowtail and a few others. All of the raw fish were very fresh, all sliced with accurate and consistent thickness. The silky smooth texture was spot on, making for a very surprisingly and good sashimi dish. Chicken Teriyaki($ 12) — Served with Soup or Salad, White or Brown Rice. There was a plentiful amount of quasi-grilled chicken along with thinly sliced onions sauteed to softness. Although the teriyaki sauce did help a little, I found the chicken turned out to be predominantly tough, dry and flavorless. Iron Sushi Bistro did not disappoint at all. Some dishes turned out to be better than I I was expecting for the location that it’s in. But to the other end of the spectrum, you won’t leave bedazzled. It will satisfy your Japanese food craving. But to what ends? I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Yummm… now that was one tasty box! I had to lick my fingers clean after going down on this one! Being that it is a nice afternoon today I decided to go find a new box to munch on during lunch hour. There are so many boxes to choose from in NYC, but you have to find the right ones to eat! I found myself walking by Iron Suchi and jumped all over that. Place is nice and clean. Décor is on the fun side with nice tables and booths, and sushi bar as you walk in. Staff was very friendly — smiles and hello’s all around. I liked that right off the bat. Bento Box lunch special here will run you $ 7.50. Add a soda in and the whole meal was $ 10.00. Not bad at all. I must say that what was revealed to me was one heck of a big box! Wow. I chose the salmon — cooked just right with fresh veggies and a tasty teriyaki sauce on it, but not engulfing the fish totally. Fresh salad with ginger dressing, white rice just right, decent fried dumplings, and a really nice sized California roll. Big bowl of miso soup started out this large meal. Time to munch! Full and content, I walked out knowing that I just ate another flavorful box, and more are to be found in my ongoing search.
