As an undercover consumer, I spend my time walking through the city of Manhattan finding tucked away spots that offer great customer service. I bumped into this Vitamin Shoppe and thought I’d pick up some protein. Known for their great customer service and product knowledge, I came in to ask questions about the best proteins for my lifestyle and one gentleman was very pleasant in answering any questions I had but also seemed more interested in soliciting his own personal services than up selling me a product. I was very kind and accepted so that I can purchase a protein powder. They have a wide selection of items and I love coming here. I would recommend this spot because the staff are pleasant, knowledgable, and the many times I come to a vitamin shoppe I leave happy. I give this store three stars because vitamin shoppe usually have a no soliciting sign outside there store but there associates are breaking that single rule.

Am I going to compare it to GNC? No.
Am I judging the variety of vitamin c supplements they offer? No. (they offer A LOT btw).
Do I expect to encounter vitamin experts at every corner of this tiny store? No– just tell me where your biotin is, thanks!
Considering the ridiculous weather we’ve been having, everyone’s been getting sick! So of course I was inevitably stuck at taking care of my boyfriend this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I love my boyfriend but freaking HATE getting sick… so once my boyfriend left my place– I sort of ran, well… I guess lightly jogged (ha), to The Vitamin Shoppe. Bought some Emergen-​C (on sale! Oh yeahhhhh).
I was forced to go to GNC around the corner afterwards for some vitamin c tablets because they didn’t have the ones I was looking for… but I’m not sh*tting on them for it. This place is bound to have what you need.

My local place for vitamins, protein powders, and fitness supplements. Usually has good prices and specials, and their club card is free. I like this place a little better the GNC, as you have to pay to join their club card. People who work there don’t know much about the supplements, so do a little research before going there so you know what you want. Depends on who helps you as some are more up on the products then others. As a former personal trainer I can tell when someone does not know what they are talking about in these places. I do like this store as it is well stocked and clean, and staff is usually friendly.

Just like GNC around the corner, know what you need before you go in.
The workers are alright in finding what you need, can’t be that hard. But ask them what the certain mineral, vitamin, or amino acid does and watch for that deer in the headlights look!
But okay for now… till a better place opens up!
