Poor poor poor poor poor, worst breakfast experience I have ever had, anywhere… Decided on buffet at first… There was no toast to have with whatever that I could have had… Took them 20 minutes to bring the toast… Wanted to have eggs and the dish was empty for a long while so I decided to order Ala cart…(cold plate) that took another 20 minutes to come… 40 minutes in to sitting down and just having a cup of coffee I decided to call it a day and forget about breakfast and go have lunch somewhere else…

The Vine is a great place to go for lunch — especially if it’s nice and warm outside. I had the salmon twice and it was very good both times. I haven’t had the chance to try the drinks yet. The restaurant’s ambience is perfect for a business crowd and I’m sure this place gets even better in the evening.

My friends were staying in the hotel, so we decided to give this restaurant a try. I was a bit disappointed. I had the vegetable salad with grilled chicken. Even though it had lots of veggies in the salad, the dressing was not the best. Overall, the food was ohhhkay, but the service was awful. You could tell the waitress was super annoyed and did not want to work. At some point she was nowhere to be found. When she came back I ordered a diet coke and she brought diet coke rum. I guess I shouldn’t complain. Anyway, not coming back here.

A slightly bizarre experience, bearing out some of what other posters have said. My wife and I came here for Easter Sunday Brunch, based on a tip from . Actually the tip was for L’Amico, so I reserved there with email confirmation. Well, when we presented ourselves at the maitre d’s post at L’Amico, we were asked whether we wanted to have brunch at L’Amico or The Vine next door, where a special brunch buffet was on offer. We shrugged and walked to The Vine, where the server-in-charge found our reservation on her tablet with a little difficulty. A jazz trio(vocalist, guitar, bass) was playing, which was a deft NY touch, and we were seated(indoors) at a shared sofa — bench configured table. Although we were handed menus, we were offered a brunch buffet option, which we ended up choosing. We chose well! The buffet divided nicely into three courses. First came salads, deviled eggs, smoked salmon, bagels, grilled asparagus etc. All scrumptious! Second course: ham roast, lamb shank, mushroom eggs benedict, a baked egg/chorizo/roasted tomato concoction, smoked bacon and chicken sausage — as well as a second pass at the vegetables for respectability. All superb! Finally dessert: panettone french toast with orange marmalade — mustard seed syrup; a chocolate — peanut butter — feuillete«Easter egg» confection; pastries a choix; mixed berries. Truly the coup de grace! All in all a dining pleasure. Our server was genuinely nice(not experienced but I am not one to quibble), and the dishes were deftly removed each time we served ourselves at the buffet. Enjoyable music from the trio — Bravo! We decided not to have coffee and went on our well-fed way. So: puzzling about the logistics and such, but worth trying. This has the feel of an experiment. I didn’t mind being a guinea pig at all.

Great place for coffee and breakfast. I loved the omelets! Then it turns into one of the great bars in the area at night. I cant remember the guys name but if you are lucky you will get a big guy from Poland for your bartender. A true 5 star joint!

We had a four-star experience in a five-star space. The space was what drew me. I saw it when I used the lav(five stars for the lav!) during a dinner in the attached L’Amico. We sat at a communal table slightly elevated above the bar and some tables. In addition to a few tables, including ours, the platform included a lounge-library area, which could be ideal for drinks and chatting. Here’s the deets: Sazarac, 14 — very good; though the one at the Poison Girl in Houston is still my favorite Salumi plate, 21 — also very good. The prosciutto was excellent. It was ample for three. Chopped Salad, 14 — also ample for three. Crisp and delicious with numerous ingredients, including remarkably sweet corn kernels. Chicken Diablo, 23 — very good. A large portion of perhaps a half deboned chicken with a crust served over a tangy, salty sauce and a bed of broccoli rabe with red bell peppers and onions. The chicken was succulent throughout. Calamari, 12 Rhone Blanc, glass, 14 Gelato, 7 — two scoops, Meyer lemon and chocolate gianduja(flavored with hazelnut, ), which was excellent. TOTAL, for three, 144.8 BONUS — amazing setting with what-looks-like sumptuous outdoor space

If Unilocal allowed for half points, this would be more of a 2.5 versus a 2. The Vine is located in the Eventi Hotel, and is gorgeously designed and decorated. The ambiance is incredible, with lots of windows, a section quarantined off that looks like a library, gorgeous tiled floors, and most importantly, a great menu. My fiancé and I came here for brunch on a Sunday because we were staying in Eventi and were jonesing for pancakes(at least I was). We arrived around 11, and while there were plenty of open tables and spaces, we were told that we’d have to wait. From there, we waited awkwardly, not knowing exactly where to stand to be out of the way. The host who had told us to wait, disappeared, then reappeared a few times but without any acknowledgement that we were still standing there. When he did return, he told us that the breakfast buffet would be closing in 10 minutes, so if we wanted it, we could go up now and eat while we were waiting. He made a point to tell us that it is «all you can eat,» but again stressed that it would be closing shortly. It was a little strange to be told we could go up there and eat standing up, then go to the table but really have no time to actually go up and enjoy. We opted for a la carte, and rushing to grab brunch from a buffet line is not really an appealing notion(plus, as someone who does not eat meat, there weren’t a ton of options for me, which is an observation versus critique). We were finally seated close to the entrance of the restaurant, and our server, who was very sweet, came over to greet us and again, offer this brunch, this time without noting that it would be ending in just a few minutes. Having this knowledge, we opted to not go with the unlimited brunch and settled instead on two coffees, blueberry pancakes for me, and fried eggs for my fiancé. We were there waiting for our coffees for at least 15 – 20 minutes with no explanation or even notice that we were there just waiting. Our coffees arrived, and again, our server was very sweet, but there was no mention of the fact that we had been waiting for so long for just coffee. Fiancé and I were going to a 1PM Broadway show and had anticipated brunch not taking very long, but grew increasingly concerned as the time continued to tick away without our entrees arriving. When they did arrive, another 15 – 20 minutes later, they were delicious. So to switch to a positive, the pancakes were lovely; they came in a cast iron skillet with lemon curd and a ton of maple syrup. Fiancé said his eggs and toast were good as well(plus the jam is little jars of Bonne Maman, which the French girl in me dies for — they’re so delish and so cute!). Based on décor and food, this would be a 4 star brunch spot. Unfortunately, the lack of oversight or helpfulness with seating, and painfully slow service(albeit friendly), causes me to rank this much lower, because dining is about more than just the food and overall vibe. Being anxious about missing your show, or whatever you have lined up takes away from enjoying that delicious food or taking in the ambiance.

Good food, awesome stuff and really nice interior design! This place is perfect for any type of meeting — business, family(safe for kids), date, ladies night out or even just a chat over a coffee. Multipurpose bar :)

This place just keeps getting better. Situated inside the Eventi hotel and connected to the kitchen at L’Amico this is the more casual, cool, less formal scene than L’Amico. Make no mistake, the food is phenomenal. I’ve been coming here since it opened and they’ve only continued to improve the menu and service. Tonight the place was busy and the incredibly gracious and beautiful hostess made sure we were taken care of at every turn. The salmon was perfectly done and their club sandwich sets a new standard in the city. The five star rating is not just for tonight but all the great meals and dining to date!

With the food /restaurant wasteland around Penn, where I work, I was excited to try out the new establishments in the Eventi hotel. We checked in at L’artusi and were told there was an hour wait for a table, and we should try The Vine, which has the same chef. We were seated promptly, and immediately the poor service experience began… 5 – 10 minutes before we were poured water… 15 minutes before we were able to order our drinks… another 5 – 10 for the drinks to come… then 10 minutes to order food… then 20 minutes for the first course to come out… after all the waiting, I was hoping the food would be worth the wait… well, it was not! We ordered: bottle of $ 56 Alsacian Pinot Noir — not good at all, overpriced. 1. Meat and cheese plate — mediocre at best. 2. «Chef’s Special» Sesame Tuna roll — Terrible and overpriced at $ 26 for a small, overcooked portion of tuna, which was not high grade sashimi quality at all. 3. Salads were decent… the Falafel Salad was tasty, but the falafel itself was dry. Only 3 small falafel pieces on a $ 15 or so salad… again overpriced 4. two other salads, which I did not try, but my friends seemed underwhelmed. 5. decent burger — can’t complain here. Overall, the Service was terrible, 1 – 2 stars and the food was OK2 – 3 stars. I even saw one of the employees, who was acting as a sommelier, literally crying to another employee by the front entrance. Completely mismanaged, unprofessional staff. our waiter was about 20 years old with a man bun. this place is trying to be the Breslin, and basically stole everything about the ACE Hotel, but fell FARSHORT. I’ll give it a few months, and maybe try it again, but first experience did not leave a good impression.

While staying at the Eventi hotel, we checked out Vine bar. The bar is very pretty and has a nice atmosphere. The cocktail menu is standard with classics such as the Manhattan, negroni and margarita, but the ones we tried were very tasty. We also shared the calamari appetizer and it was delicious and a huge portion that would have been enough for three people! If in the neighborhood, I would recommend stopping by for a drink or snack.

Started off a little rocky with service. Seated for awhile watched 2 waiters walk by, one even asked if she could take a chair from my table as I was seated alone. No I’llbe back, how are you, etc. Finally as my face was looking rather upset the hostess comes over and takes my order. After that I’ve been checked on quite frequently even by the manager. The food is awesome. I ordered the gouda & balsamic onions burger with french fries. French fries are delicious, burger perfect. The tea is also some of the best unsweetened ice tea I’ve had. I’ll have to ask for the brand. Overall solid 3.5 I updated to 4 due to the frequent check in ’ s after intially being ignored.

We randomly popped into the hotel in search for some breakfast. I am so amazed at how much Eventi has changed! The restaurant décor is so adorable and the servers eager. There is also outdoor seating, which I love. The was an option for a la carte ordering or the buffet. Since the options were pretty similar, we went for the buffet. The food was delicious and offerings included typical continental fare, from bacon, sausage and eggs to pastries, cured meats and cheeses. Coffee is included and it kept coming. Great ambiance, food and décor. Would come back again!

My friend and I were running errands before flying to Europe for vacation and decided to have breakfast. This hotel was still serving and seated is immediately. The hotel is beautiful and very sleek. They offer the most refreshing cucumber water in the lobby. Their restaurant is a combination of indoor and outdoor with antique touches. They had a great buffet or a la carte options. The buffet had pancakes, waffles, eggs with chives, potatoes, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, charcuterie, cereals, oatmeal and everything else. It was very affordable($ 26) and relaxing on a crazy weekday morning in the city. The food was absolutely delicious and filling. I would definitely stop by again when in the neighborhood!

Ordered a burger well done. The waiter suggested medium well. I said no I like well done I don’t like any pink. He convinced me there wouldn’t be any pink. Sure enough when the burger arrived there was plenty of pink. I asked them to cook it some more and when it came back there was no pink on the outside that was visible but a ton on the inside. Very disappointed they would not check the inside. What a waste of $ 19 for a burger I couldn’t even eat!

What a neat place to have a drink! We stayed around the corner on 28th and I was looking for a place to grab a drink while waiting for my boyfriend to return from Brooklyn to scoop me up for dinner. Our hotel didn’t have a bar, so I walked around the corner and found The Vine. I was greeted immediately at the bar and ordered a Moscow Mule — which was one of the best I’ve ever had, despite it not coming in a copper mug. I liked it so much, I had two. The bartender also treated me to a complimentary snack of their homemade cheese balls — which are like the planter’s cheese balls of your childhood on speed. They were spicy and salty and the perfect thing to hold me over until dinnertime! We even came back later in the evening for a post dinner drink.

The bartender here could not have been less interested in serving me. Not exactly sure why, maybe because I was still wearing the t-shirt that I wore on the plane from denver to nyc(?). You know, in a hotel bar you must see the occasional weary traveller? Anyway, I ordered a drink which she poured and never put in front of me, it sat on the bar rail. I thought maybe she ran out of scotch and was after another bottle because the pour was so stingy, but then I saw the bottle put back and it wasn’t empty, so I went ahead and grabbed it off the rail. Then i placed an order of yellowtail for an appetizer which was really quite bad, not that she ever asked how it was or anything. Her partner at the bar offered me another drink after I purposely sat there with an empty drink for 20 or so minutes to see how long this«bartender» could ignore me — she had looked at my empty glass 10 or 100 times, completely disinterested. Saved by the person who gave a shit. Oh, I’d finished my lousy yellowtail a LONG time ago, and rather than complete the experiment to see how long this bartender would leave the empty plate in front of me, I asked for the check and went back to my room to order room service for my main course, figuring I’d be better off. There were exactly 6 people she was serving. Maybe the worst service ever? And I do get around a bit… I feel bad about the decent tip I left her — she earned exactly none of it. Why do I do that? I guess I prefer to let off steam here.

The reason I’m giving The Vine a 3-star rating has an explanation attached. When it comes to the food and the interior of the restaurant, i’d give it a 5-star rating. But when it comes to the service, they would be receiving a 1-star, if that. I went here with a few friends of mine on a Thursday evening and we waited about a half hour before being approached. Also, they have no hostess stand or greeting area, so we kind of wandered around looking for someone to direct us. The server was clearly flustered and kept coming back at random times and would disappear for long periods. The biggest issue was with my drink. I ordered a Kettle One Martini, extra dirty. What I received was a glass of olive juice with a shot of vodka. For the $ 20 that the martini cost, you would expect it to be decent. I sent it back because it was that disgusting and the server said, «well you wanted it extra dirty.» I found this to be unprofessional and ridiculous for this type of a restaurant. We ordered the food and when we got it, it was delicious. I had a kale salad and a skirt steak — both fabulous. Everyone at the table loved their food. They do offer suggestion/rating cards, so I marked the service as 1 out of 5. They will probably have better service as they work out the kinks.

I’ve been here three times already. The ambience and décor is phenomenal. The food is delicious. The chicken is the best I’ve ever had and I absolutely adore the open patio. It’s one of those places where I want to sit and sip summer wine while eating plate after plate of charcuterie and cheese. I didn’t give it five stars because the service is awful.

As someone who works in the area — really refreshing to see this space open! I’ve been a guest at the Eventi Hotel before(by the way — amazing hotel in midtown) and love what they have done with what was a casual food court set up. The name«The Vine» comes from«Eventi» letters rearranged — as I learned from a member of the staff. The décor is very relaxed-speakeasy chic, with some lush leather seats that beckon you to get comfortable and sit for a spell. Stopped by for lunch today and was very pleased! My dad and I shared some light fare — Peekytoe Crab Crostini and Roasted Baby Carrots. Two items on the menu you wouldn’t expect much from, but my mind was blown. The carrots were roasted so perfectly which brought out their natural sweetness + paired with a spicy sauce that gave the already-flavorful carrots some kick! Peekytoe Crab tasted really fresh, mixed with avocado atop toasted bread. Great list of cocktails, wines, beers — although we only had ice water. Very happy with the service — LOVED the restroom layout(it’s creepy to take restroom pics, right?) and literally looking for an excuse to return with co-workers this week and try more from the menu!
