OHMYGOD! WHEREHASTHISPLACEBEEN!!! My girlfriend brought me here to watch the superbowl, since it was my first time, and the experience was just phenomenal! The food was great and whoever was hosting that night was super cool! The screens were huge and very clear so I advise that you make your way here when something big is playing on TV! The crowd was awesome and the service was even better. The servers and the entire staff made us feel so welcomed and wanted. They had a special with beer and wings/burgers ANDGAVEFREESHOTSONTHEHOUSE! HOWCOOLISTHAT?! I WOULDGOBACKFORTHATALONE. THISPLACEKNOWSHOWTOAPPRECIATEITSCUSTOMERSANDSHOWUS A GOODTIME! This is my new official American restaurant! Everything was good and the food was so good that I went on my own the very next day. Shhhh :) So below are the things that me and my girlfriend enjoyed. We tried everything together and our opinions matched! The margarita pizza: Thin crust, cooked to perfection. Fresh sauce. Basil compliments. The Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich:(Had this twice. Once on my own and one shared with my girlfriend) Meaty fried green tomato. Fresh slaw. Good bread. Buffalo wings with goat blue cheese: Just YUM! Great portion! Duck Fat French Fries: DELICIOUS! Crispy. Tossed with raw garlic. Burger:(Not sure which one; came with the special) My girlfriend loved it. She considered ordering another one but we had alredy had so much food :) Mac and Cheese:(Had this on my own. Finished it!) Yum! Cheesy. Crispy topping. Goes perfectly with their beverage, Pisco Cobbler. Pisco Cobbler: Don’t even get me started! This is the best drink I’VEEVERHAD, EVER! I can’t even describe it. It left me speechless! Apple Pie:(My girlfriend loves this. To sum it up, you guys nailed it!) Mini pie. Delicious vanilla ice cream. Trio of Chocolate mousse: This is the only thing that didn’t wow me, at all. It was good but just that. Maybe should come with ice cream, berries or something. White chocolate was bland. Dark chocolate was my favorite. Perfect portion of sponge for this dessert.

I came here on a Thursday night and was incredibly impressed. The Liberty is very well decorated, had a great atmosphere, and was a mix between 20 – 35 year olds. I also appreciated the comfortable seating options. The bartender was over the top friendly and even came to notify me when the open bar was closing(it was a private event in a separate room). Can’t wait to go back again.

Sadly we stopped here and the place was so packed busy that we went elsewhere. Will go back and try when we come back to NYC.

I was lucky enough to win a gift card to The Liberty. Went here over the weekend with friends and pretty much chilled out for a couple of hours which was nice(the rest of the restaurant was otherwise empty). Rarely do you get to go to a restaurant in NYC where they don’t rush you out the door as soon as you finish a meal. My friends were also attended to by a nice bartender who was testing out cocktails and they were the(lucky) guinea pigs. Food wise, it was pretty standard. …first off, the duck fat fries are delicious, and the rest of the menu(ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich, steak sandwich, goats cheese/cranberry salad, Mac n cheese, and another dish that I forget) was good, but not memorable. Servings sizes are generous. Oh, and the 3 for $ 25 dessert selection is REALLY worth it — we ordered red velvet cake, mango/guava cheesecake, and peanut butter brownie. Major food coma after that meal. This isn’t a fine dining establishment, so keep expectations low and you will be fine.

So fun. If I had to use one word, FUN would be it. We searched for a place for dinner and discovered heaven :). The styling might look to others as a standard American bar, but we found the beauty in the little things, and you have to see the toilets! The food was delicious! Fish and chips had special topping of garlic and parsley, the pizza was perfectly made, juicy and tasty on a thin base, and the Salmon salad was the best side dish(might be just a little bit too much lettuce). All this goes with a good service, to make the perfect after-work/dinner experience. They will probably see us again !!!

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet. My first experience here was a couple of months ago when I was frantically trying to arrange a largeish gathering for all of my coworkers. I hadn’t been able to find somewhere that was able to accommodate the number of places that didn’t also need me to book some room with a minimum charge or whatever. When I called the Liberty, they were so chill and easy to work with. They gave me a couple of options and I ended up just reserving the front loungeish area(for free!). They were also super chill about us not having waiter service, and letting us just go up individually to order at the bar. Food is good(get the yummy duck fat truffle fries!) and the drinks are decent. Pretty extensive beer selection and the mixed drinks, while not like speakeasy quality, were good. This place does get loud and it is often crowded but hey, what do you expect from this area? Probably would be more of a 3.5 to 4 star place, but totally bumped up due to my great experience here booking for a group. I’ve come back here a number of times and always had a good time. Solid niceish bar for the area.

it’s a huge bar in midtown so your initial reaction will be a groan and an eye-roll but the food is very tasty and it’s an upgrade to normal bar food. the fries are delicious– fried in duck fat, topped with: cheese, garlic and several seasonings. The nachos are so good and not like your basic bar nachos. the staff is very accommodating and friendly; the décor is stylish, not overwhelming. Go to Liberty if you find yourself in midtown looking for a place to chow down and drink with friends.

We came here at 4 the other day for happy hour. Unfortunately, we were informed that The Liberty would be closing at 5 for a holiday party. We still wanted to enjoy the hour so we sat at the bar and ordered a dozen $ 1 oysters and a few drinks. The drink specials for beer are a dollar off on two or three of their lighter beers and they have a $ 8 mule. The bartenders here were top notch. Our first bartender was very attentive and they bartender setting up for the party, mixing drinks and prepping the bar was such a cool guy. Super friendly and hanging out with us, had a 20 minute conversation while he was setting up which was pretty impressive. The Liberty is a great place for happy hour with dollar oysters and great bar tending. Its a casual type upscale feeling bar that is perfect for anytime of day.

Stopped in here before the Rangers game because we heard they had an awesome happy hour. Cheap drinks and $ 1 oysters hell yeah! We walked in at 4 and were greeted by the hostess but she informed us that they were closing at 5 for a private party(womp womp) but they let us get in a quick round of drinks and oysters. The bartenders were very nice and friendly and chatted with us a bit while they set up for the party. Our drinks were always full and they were very attentive. The oysters were nice and fresh! I just wasn’t really a fan of the cocktail sauce that came with it. Hopefully I make it back to the Liberty so I can take advantage of their happy hour special in full!

Super super busy bar but spacious! And good price! And good service! I would love to go back if I want to get cheaper drinks in midtown area. We had an event so we were all in the back but man they were packed of a Monday night. Happy Hour 6−8pm: $ 4 beer, $ 6 wine, and $ 8 Moscow mule!

Super fun bar with a good amount of space. Attended a networking event here and liked the vibe. We were only served fried food so I can’t comment on the«real» menu but drinks weren’t bad. Staff is attentive and there is ample seating. The dj was a nice touch. I’d come back for sports or a casual beer.

Decent options that were not too expensive, excellent service, and $ 5 happy hour drink specials. I loved the atmosphere, too — very open… not tiny and claustrophobic like some NYC bistros. It got super loud at the bar after 6PM, but other than that, it was a fantastic dinner.

Large bar with limited patio style furniture up front if it’s nice outside and TVs playing your favorite sports inside(don’t worry they have large windows so you’ll still get some outdoor air inside) —fig jam pizza: great balance of sweet and salty on this cracker thin crust pizza, but not filling at all —$ 8 red sangria: couldn’t taste the alcohol in this one NOTE: They offer Happy Hour but we missed it!

Fun place for happy hour. Good vibe, alot of space, great specials and centrally located. Its a nice place to grab a drink with a few coworkers or meet up with friends for happy hour. I would say, its a great place to start your night off at, or swing by for a quick drink and head home. Im saying this because, It gets super loud and the food was OK. It does the job. We ordered pizza, mac n cheese bites, cheese platter and fish tacos. All mediocre. Overall — I’d stick to the drinks and eat elsewhere.

In town for work and had a gap to fill, wanted a burger and brew to alleviate the previous night’s client dinner/drinks. The Liberty was PERFECT! The duck-fat fries were amazing, super crisp, obviously really fresh /hot fryer. I got the burger medium and it was exactly right, pink and juicy, special sauce and really exceptional toasted bun. Some sort or cool relish. No tomatoes but I got a little extra ketchup for that sweet flavor(I know I’m a Philistine) and finished every bite. They have a house wheat beer that’s different tasting than most wheats, almost sour like a shandy, but really very good — perfect compliment to the meal. Sat at the bar and the bartendress was attentive despite a pretty full lunch crowd taking advantage of what looks like a great cocktail program. Wish I was here another night so I could come back!

Chill spot for drinks and dessert and that’s why I was here. 6 girlfriends including myself stopped by for a drink and dessert. We ordered 3 desserts to share amongst our group for $ 25. They were the following: My favorites from top to bottom: Guava Cheesecake — OMG the combination of flavors were outstanding. KINDA wish I had it all to myself heehee. Triple Chocolate Mousse — Oh the flavors of the chocolate and how it just melts in your mouth was outstanding. Red Velvet — wasn’t my favorite. The cream cheese stood out but I would order something else over this if i ever came back. We didn’t even finish it but demolished the 2 above. I also ordered a cider beer which was delicious. There was music playing but we were able to carry on a conversation with no problem. Service was great. Would definitely come back.

3 stars is because they were accommodating on making me veggie sliders for lunch even though it was brunch. But hello… the menu outside had veggie sliders on it. Put the appropriate menu.outside. As much as I appreciate what they did, they had no flavor. Zero!

I like this place for a few reasons. 1. They make great craft cocktails for $ 12 2. The have a really good DJ on Fridays 3. They have Sriracha(extra points for that) So I recently began working in Midtown and The Liberty is one of the first gems I discovered in the area. Actually some co workers discovered it and I decided to pop my head in there after work. Everything from the décor to the music made me want to stay for a drink and a bite. The place feels like a watering hole from New York of old. They did a good job with this theme throughout the establishment. I also liked the crowd in the Liberty. It was a mix of professionals that looked like they were coming from work and club goers who were pre gaming before a night on the town. The food: I had the Sliders(cheeseburger). These were really good. The buns were soft and the beef was tasty. Definitely above average here. I added some Sriracha to the sliders which kicked the flavor up a notch. I wouldn’t hesitate to order these sliders again. The drinks: They have a concise menu of craft cocktails themed after each of the five boroughs. There’s two cocktails per borough. I just told the bar tender to make me his fav drink. I have no idea which one he made me(I was drinking before I got here), but I do know that it was well made, strong, and delicious. This is the kind of place that serves your drink in the proper drink-ware, garnishes it accordingly and doesn’t short you on the liquor! All this for $ 12 is a great value in NYC. Great experience at the Liberty. I’ll be back often to check out their lunch offerings, happy hour and for after work drinks. I’m especially looking fwd to enjoying their outdoor seating in the coming weeks.

If you like loud places where you have to shout to have a conversation, this is the place for you. If you like a bunch of «bros» who sigh and roll their eyes when you say«excuse me» while trying to leave, then you are also a bro and therefore this is still the place for you. I recently came here for a quick business meeting(it was casual so the person who threw it together chose this spot). From the second I walked in, I could tell I would not like it. Crowded, loud, weird mix of people… Not really my style. The host was nice and quickly seated us toward the back, which I assumed would be a quieter spot but I was mistaken. We could barely hear one another and the waiter seemed angry that I asked him to repeat the happy hour special 3 times. The first waitress we saw didn’t understand us wanting to wait for the rest of our group to arrive prior to ordering. The one thing I liked was the fact they had Sam Adams Nitro Stout, but quite honestly that is not a good enough reason for me to return to a bar. They also had a projection screen showing the Ranger game but this didn’t seem like the right type of crowd to enjoy playoff hockey with. I will not be returning to this spot unless someone else organizes something here and I have to attend.
