Been here several times now, and each time i have had great tasting, healthy, and good portions of the delicious food. The service is fast, efficient, and the atmosphere is warm & comfortable. An easy place to sit down and enjoy the healthy food court atmosphere(the new VBurger is here, as well as BQ Juice… both are definitely worth checking out as well!). Think of it as a great Mediterranean Chipotle :)

Good falafel and humus. Its a ‘fast’ food place, so you have to expect accordingly. Chicken Shawarma is a little ‘bland’, but overall I would recommend this place.

Fresh, healthy, lots of choices. I have not had hummus this good since my trip to Israel. Not a bad price either. Relaxed and plenty of space

This place is awesome! The falafel sample outside brought me in, it was some of the best I’ve had. It’s like the Chipotle for Mediterranean food where you build your own meal. Super fast, really, really good, and a friendly, happy staff. I can’t wait to eat here again and try something else!

Considering the fact that hummus is in the name of this place– I found the regular and roasted red pepper hummus to be really disappointing. The Pitas and the falafels however were amazing! This place should be called the Falafel & Pita co! The falafels are really flavorful and crunchy– but in a healthy baked way. It’s not super oily or taste of residual old oil. The Pitas are light and freshly baked. I’m middle eastern so I know my pita and this stuff is good. Perhaps I’m also a hummus snob but the hummus was not a pleasing texture of flavor. Super bland :(

Food wise, holy crap it’s amazing. One of the best falafels I’ve had. Service is something we need to talk about. I watched the manager scream at one of his employees about three times, in a disrespectful manner, it made me want to just drop all my food and not buy from here because the manager was such a dick. My boyfriend asked for double meat and so the guy put double meat for us and he screamed at him for doing what we asked, he stopped the whole line three times to point out what this guy was doing wrong. I personally spoke to the manager and told him not to speak to him that way and he proceeded to almost scream at me telling me this is a way he has to run his business or else he’ll lose money. But that was NOT the way he should handle business. Utter disrespect. It was also totally not professional to do that in front of all your customers. I would hate to work for that guy. My boyfriend and I went ahead to look for the employee he screamed at to apologize and give him a tip but he was nowhere to be found. Clearly he was done taking his manager’s shit because within ten minutes we watched this man get scolded three times. I definitely will not be returning to this specific location.

This spot in particular is pretty cool. It’s three restaurants in one. If you don’t want hummus there’s a vegan burger one step to the right, and shakes at the front. It’s fast, but decent. Also, big plus is that there is a bathroom, and outlets everywhere! Good option as a regroup spot for the tourist or city visitor.

I see you. You see me. I’m forever walking past your storefront, rushing my @ss off to another bougey yoga class at Jivamukti. Impossible to stop in beforehand yet becomes out of mind later as I make my way to Whole Foods around the corner. Stopped in a few days ago and it was all over for me, with daily visits ever since. You’re all I think about falafel plate! For good reasons too, since when have the words cheap, delicious aaaaand healthy ever really fit the description of any one restaurant? It’s entirely possible to hit 2 of the 3 but usually not all 3. For example, Lam Zhou dumplings and Halal Guys are cheap and delicious but I can’t say that healthy perfectly describes them. On the other hand, healthy and cheap could easily hold true for the salads at Chopt and grocery stores obviously, but wouldn’t totally fit the description of delicious unless I’m in zombie workout mode and have trained my brain to think so… yes I hypnotize myself for diet purposes! Anyways this basically leaves us with delicious and healthy, which brings to mind Eatily’s Il Pesce and Masa but they are definitely not low cost affairs. Whoosh! In comes The H&P Co. with their cheap, delicious and healthy falafel plate. $ 8.66 buys a humongo plate of hummus, different versions of baba g, spiced and assorted veggies along with 5 falafel balls and a thick pita. I honestly can’t complain about the flavor of any items here. Nothing is too salty or lacking it, spicy when they say it’s spicy but also just the right amount of spice like they read my mind and accommodated my palate somehow. I love the amount of food given and even the pita is ridiculously good. Smack yo mama good! No but don’t. Hooked on hummus, I’m on a Mediterranean kick now and happy to be off the pizza kick! Diclaimer* for the 6ave location. For some odd reason the flavors are way better at the bway location which has a noticeably much better tasting hummus, ya it’s weird.

It’s a cute little space and the food is pretty good. The staff is usually nice so I’m going ignore the fact that the guy making my food this last time was obviously annoyed with me for ordering(isn’t that what you do with restaurants?) and like he simply didn’t have time to let me decide what j wanted on my plate. The food was good tho I’m not going to lie I got tired of some of the flavors after extensive bites. You definitely get a good serving of food. The tahini sesame sauce is VERYVERY strong, get a little or not at all. It ruining my lamb and I couldn’t even finish it. The cous cous is great and so is the eggplant YUM. They also make really great falafel and nice hummus. I’d be back to try and different dish!

I have eaten a number of falafel sandwiches from here in the last several months. I know there are several locations but I have to say it is pretty quality. You can get wraps, salad, sandwich. It has veggie options as well as the meats. Get the nam garlic paste. I wish they had soup.(do they have it in the winter and i just haven’t seen it)

I can only rate on behalf of the take out, which has been solid each time Ive taken it. The chicken taboon platter is top notch, with the grilled veggies and turkish salad being top notch. The hummus that comes on the side may be the top draw, as its smooth and savory even after waiting for delivery :).

Walked by this location of hummus and pita for years — sample here, sample there. Always in between meals and was never hungry. Then past weekend, my husband and I were shopping in the area and happened to grab one of their samples again(Actually my husband’s first sample, my dozen’s). My husband immediately fell in love with the crunchiness and flavor of the falafel! We finally went in for lunch. We shared a platter of falafel with 3 sides(baba goulash, couscous, and carrot salad). It also came with a generous scoop of regular hummus and whole wheat pita bread! The portion was more than filling/big enough for two! Every item on the platter was beyond delicious! I especially enjoyed the smooth, flavorful baba goulash and creamy, nutty hummus. They both went so well with the toasty, warm, «bigger than my face“pita. Overall — Lunch for two for under $ 10! Def a steal in the city! Would definitely return for their falafel and try other items on the menu!

If you’re looking to grab hummus or something vegetarian for lunch, this is probably your place. I came here because(I’m addicted to hummus) I was looking for something quick. I would say, for being a chain, it was pretty good. Set up like a buffet style, pick and choose your toppings, it had a variety of yummy additions. I must say, this location was kind of confusing to me. At this location, there are two different stations you can choose, either the vegetarian(where you can order veggie burgers) or the falafel and hummus, which I think are two separate chains in one restaurant. On top of that, it felt to me like a casual restaurant trying to have a pub-like atmosphere. There are big TV plasma screens all over the place with sports playing. It was just a strange mix. Other than that, I would say I would come here again if I were ever in the area. It’s not some place I would go out of my way to come to, but definitely if I’m ever craving hummus(which is basically always).

Chicken Shawarma bowl $ 9.95 — overall a decent experience here. Chicken shawarma was a bit crunchy and dry. There was a good amount of char on the shawarma. I got brown rice and fried eggplants as my sides. Eggplant was great! The hummus and pita was probably the best part of the meal. I can eat humus for days. I went with the tahini sauce(dairy free and the healthiest choice). Don’t let the word«healthy» scare you. It was tasty. There are lots of seats and should be great for lunch. Portions are huge and you’ll be stuffed. Thanks to the staff who gave me a 10% coupon on my next visit!

No more will I order from Hummus & Pita Co. Tonight I purposely ordered online for delivery from the Chelsea location and they sent my order to the Union Square store. I used to always have my food delivered from Chelsea as the dishes were much tastier, since trying out the Union Square store it’s been horrible. Food that was delivered was again not of a good quality. Hummus bland, Tabouli too chunky with parsley not cut fine enough, chickpea salad bland, fries greasy. Forgot to include two of my extra sauces that I paid for. Why is it that in a span of 7 months since my last review(over on the Chelsea location page) has the quality of your food gone so far downhill? It used to taste so fresh and tasty, now it tastes like mass produced stodge with cheap ingredients. Hopefully you’ll listen to reviews and try and fix these issues before it gets even worse, until then I’ll get my Middle Eastern fix elsewhere.

I really like how there are so many variations. I love chipotle so when I discovered a similar concept with falafels, I was delighted! I get the plate which gives you hummus, protein and two sides. Then you can throw extra stuff on top of the plate. My favorite sauce is the chimichuri sauce. There’s also a juice bar conveniently next door! It’s healthy and filling! And those free samples in the front. Yum.

I had Hummus & Pita Co. before at the 6th avenue location in Chelsea and I like it a lot. Since I was in the Union Square area one afternoon and was hungry, I decided to stop by to check the Greenwich Village location out and as well as have lunch. This particular location is bigger and kind of dark(a bit of a turn off) and it shares the space with The Juice Shop. There is a reasonable amount of seating at this location. The staff was pretty friendly, but a little messy when putting my order together. I ordered my usual which is falafel bowl with brown rice, fried eggplant, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber, hummus, and this time I added Tahini sauce. A whole wheat pita was included in my order as well. I am usually very full and satisfied whenever I order the falafel bowl, but this time I wasn’t full nor was I completely satisfied with the quality of the food. It felt like there was something lacking. The quality of the food didn’t taste as scrumptious as it does in the Chelsea location and I also feel the man behind the counter didn’t give me as much food. The whole wheat pita didn’t feel soft or fluffy either. I think the chances of me being back here would be slim because the ambiance here didn’t feel comfortable and it felt dark and dreary here. The food quality was mediocre. I would rather walk a few extra blocks to the Chelsea location for a better experience and food.

Best Mediterranean chain spot ever! I’ve been here multiple times for lunch and dinner and it has never disappoint! I have only tried the spinach and regular hummus, and I prefer the regular one more(plus it’s free). The hummus is really smooth and taste delightful with the complimentary soft pita(white or whole wheat). The steak taboon bowl is my favorite, but all their proteins are pretty delicious. I really like their couscous and corn salad sides. A bowl(2 sides, 1 meat and assorted veggies) is a super filling meal with all your daily nutrients for less than $ 12. You’ll definitely get that bang for your buck here!

I had Hummus and Pita before at the Chambers street location and I like it a lot. So since I was in the area, and I was hungry, I decided to done here. The establishment was so big and kinda dark-ish and it shared space with The Juice Shop. The staff overall were pretty much on point. But the food was not filling at all. Not to mention it was somewhat tasteless and it costed $ 14 for lunch. Also, I couldn’t get a drink with my combo because«the soda machine was broken». Would I come back here? Probably not.

This place confuses me… a lot. It’s kind of like chipotle where you pick bowl, salad, falafel, gyro, etc then you get to pick your meat plus toppings. This place is kind of pricey too, I got a chicken bowl with like 3 toppings and it was like $ 11. The signs are confusing… I wasn’t sure what to get first and what cost extra money. It did not help that the man didn’t really speak english. Basically he looked just as confused as I was when I asked him questions. I picked the chicken bowl and got the yellow rice. Before he did anything he asked me if I wanted hummus… not sure if it cost extra or not. Since this was my first time here I was like f**k it ok let me get the hummus. He gave me a big chunk of hummus then added my chicken with yellow rice. I added some onions and feta cheese. It came with a white or white pita… kind of a thick bread… didn’t look like a pita. It was more like a circular hefty white bread. It was a decent amount of food but it didn’t sit well in my stomach. Maybe I got the wrong combo but this place just flat out confuses me.
