I’ve always been satisfied with the food. Simple and healthy. The service is always fast but not always the most polite people. Ps. You have to try the rice pudding with almonds– excellent.

This cute small Mediterranean restaurant has excellent food! Ive been here numerous times. One suggestion, I would make is to please filter the tap water! The staff is nice and the prices are affordable.

I pass by Nanoosh quite often, and always see a huge crowd dining in for dinner. My curiosity got the better of me one evening as I stepped in to order takeout. I ordered a quinoa power plate, with chicken shawa, chickpeas, Mediterranean Salad, and Tzatziki sauce. So much regret and waste of $ 12. The good part was the quinoa, which had a bit of dried cranberries and was quite refreshing in the savory dish. I’m used to eating fresh, flavorful Mediterranean salad, with crispy lettuce and tomato. This cannot be said for the salad at Nanoosh, because all I tasted with each bite was raw onion. I couldn’t taste anything else! «Hi, yes I would like a bit of lettuce with my bowl full of onions.» I pretty much still have the taste of onion in my mouth, a day later and after a lot of teeth brushing. Don’t get the organic chickpeas, this is completely bland. Zero flavor at all. I feel like they just boiled the chickpea and dropped it straight onto my plate. So with all the onions and blandness, I mixed everything together hoping it would make the salad and chickpeas taste better. Kind of. Thank god the chicken shawa was spiced enough to semi-carry all the other flavors. Overall, absolutely disappointing and I will head somewhere else to get my Mediterranean fix.

Originally I saw the 3.5 star review but thought it might have been a bit harsh. After going there, I thought it was very fair. I had the falafel hummus plate. The food quality was not flavorful and portion size was tiny. Very disappointed with this place.

My absolute FAVORITE lunch spot. I come here around once a week(sometimes more). I am somewhat picky when it comes to food(I prefer healthy food), so this is my go-to place. Plus, the food comes out very fast. So this is an ideal spot to go to during lunch when you are pressed for time at work. Highly recommend!

This is a great healthy place with savory dishes. Food is served fast and waiters are very nice, they have many options to combine from the menu. Their baked falafel is the best, as is all the good in the falafel and feels perfect(without the greasiness or heaviness of the fried ones in other places)

Baked falafel is bland. And dry. And expensive. Chickpea’s on 14th is better. Gluten free wrap was not bad though!

Nanoosh is a rarity in that their food is amazing and their service is second to none. They have a staff that takes pride in getting to know their regulars and providing the very best for their customers. Their Mediterranean food is the absolute best and I cannot leave without an avocado chicken sandwich or a roasted red pepper power plate– a must stop for sure!

My partner and I popped in here for a quick lunch the other day and we fell in love. I ordered the baked falafel wrap with roasted red pepper hummus and the quinoa nanoosh on the side. My partner ordered the veggie wrap with roasted red pepper hummus and the quinoa nanoosh on the side. Both of our wraps were packed with fresh, tasty veggies. The hummus added flavor and my falafel were baked to perfection. The quinoa nanoosh was the perfect compliment to the wrap. It was light and cool — perfect for a hot summer day. Although Nanoosh is a little expensive, my partner and I agreed we would go back in a heartbeat, the food was healthy, filling and delicious.

My favorite mediterranean hummus place in the city. It is a casual place to grab food — you can sit or take out. Ive gotten the avocado and lentil salad(which is super light and fresh with a ton of flavor and lots of ingredient — will definitely keep you full. It is also less of a salad and more of a bowl with cold greens). Ive also had the masahaba hummus plate — it is a hummus with jalepeno and onion. The first time i ordered this it was awesome but the last time i did it was very watery — might be because i got it to go but i was a bit disappointed. However ive gotten the beef hummus plate more than once and each time it was incredible. So much flavor it is my favorite dish by far.

The Powerfood plate makes a good meal. I had Power Greens, Baked Falafel, Hummus, Organic Mushrooms and Green Tahini sauce. I like that their falafel is baked. The hummus seems to be low in salt. I had a big bowl of greens with plenty of mushrooms, a big scoop of hummus, a large amount of tahini sauce and 3 pieces of falafel. It comes with wheat pita but I opted for no pita. Even without bread, it was filling.

Tried their classic hummus with cilantro and a chicken salad with flax– both very clean and simply. No flavors were overwhelming or bland and left with a happy stomach. Highly recommend to people who are watching what they eat and or vegetarians!

A block from Union Square, this cute, medium-sized restaurant serves up a very healthy and vegetarian-friendly menu. Great place for salads, hummus, sandwiches, soups, and all for a fair NYC price. Dinner for two sans drinks may cost you $ 25 – 30. Two soups and a shared sandwich is good way to go for lunch or dinner(sandwiches have great bread). Not a fancy place, but clean, modern, spacious, and well-run. Recommended.

This place puts the awful in falafel. The hummus and tahini were lacking in garlic and flavor. To top it off, the«Mediterranean» ground beef tasted like hamburger detritus scraped off a backyard grill. The waitress was nice. I’ll stop there.

I’ve been here twice and love it! It’s a low key, no frills, Mediterranean place that offers healthy but delicious options. Everything I’ve tried is really fresh and light yet delicious and filling. What I’ve ordered: Lentil Salad — so yummy! huge salad filled with lentils, onions, tomatoes, greens, parsley, onions and we choose a olive oil citrus dressing which added a lemony flavor. the salad had so much flavor and was way more than an average salad Hummus Plates — SOGOOD! it is basically a large plate of delicious hummus(you can choose original or red pepper) with the toppings you choose in the middle. I’ve had it with a beef /onion /mushroom mixture which was AMAZING. I’ve also tried the hummus with a jalapeño /onion mixture which was also delicious. they bring the hummus with soft pita and the table has some fresh sauces(spicy and mild) which add a great flavor to the hummus and i recommend you add it on overall, great food if you are looking for something light and healthy yet substantial and delicious

I have to say I really love this place. Yes, definitely not the most superb Middle Eastern food on the face of the earth. But what it offers is excellent, and service is very cordial, and prices are very very reasonable for the neighborhood. Now the menu is a tad more complicated than it should be, but not to worry, one of the efficient and pleasant waitresses will be more than happy to help. I had what they call a «Powerfood Plate.» I had Chicken Shawa, which is chunks of chicken thigh, and it was mixed in with a salad called Farro. That’s some kind of salad. It was very good. Hit the spot, good portion. My wife had a fine felafel wrap. So what more can I say? Great! So glad to find a restaurant in the Village that offers good value for the money.

For what it was worth, the food was… okay. I ordered lunch to go but I must say that it kept me full for the remainder of the work day. This wasn’t the best hummus and tahini I’ve ever had(actually, I’ve experienced better takeout — at Maoz, event though their falafels are fried.) I ordered the gluten-free vegetarian falafel wrap and organic hibiscus berry iced tea(unsweetened). The only reason I’ve tried this place is because it was close to my job, recommended by someone and the falafels are baked.

I am a big fan of Mediterranean food in general. So, it isn’t an oddity that I found myself snagging a quick dinner here during the FIFA World Cup. The atmosphere here is top notch if you are looking for a chill, quiet meal. The restaurant is clean and gives me a ‘I’m eating healthy’ vibe :) Here’s the place to take your vegan friends! In any case, the falafel was wonderful along with a glass of wine… notably organic. The meal was quiet pricey, as I paid less at The Hummus Place. You are mostly paying for the organic ingredients here. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for those looking to eat organic. This is the place to go with friends on a vegan/gluten-free/raw/vegetarian diet. Otherwise, it is pricier than the other options and not as tasty.

They used to the guest feature restaurant in our work cafeteria at my old job. So I have had their hummus plate, which I really like. In general, I think their hummus is really good. Also, recently they have started carrying gluten free wraps, so when I found myself hungry near union square, I found myself here on a Saturday afternoon. This place is more like a simple café than a proper restaurant. I ordered the falafel wrap on gluten free, which I would have taken to go if I wasn’t so hungry. It was good, similar to the one I eat at chickpea almost every other day for lunch — but at $ 13 I thought it was very expensive vs. chickpea where I get it for $ 6. They do have a bunch of Mediterranean options, and the food is decent. Not sure I am willing to pay double when I get the same quality of food for much less.

I thought I was walking into a vegetarian restaurant. Thank goodness they had chicken. I love my meat. This food was delicious and organic. I never eat organic food but it was quite good. I had the powerplate of chicken and hummus. They give you A LOT of hummus with delicious warm pita. I also had the garden salad, which was delicious. I love the way they put hearts of palm. Yum. I will be back here when I feel a need to be healthy.
