One of the most delicious meal ever. My boyfriend and I ordered the following: 1) Turkish wine 2) Grilled octopus — grilled to perfection; not too chewy. 3) Grilled Halloumi cheese with poached pear and baby basil. I really love this dish, it shows the amount of effort the chef when making food. The cheese was quite chewy and the pear gave a nice sweetness to it. When topped with the basil, there was a hint of freshness. The combination was just so pungent and fabulous. 4) Hanger steak My boyfriend really enjoyed it. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The sauce that came with it was very delicious with the steak. 5) Duck breast with couscous and leeks The skin was very crispy and the couscous was very fluffy. The sauce complemented the duck quite nicely. Only problem I had was that the duck wasn’t sliced into even slices. 6) Flourless chocolate cake with turkish coffee gelato The gelato itself was quite acidic. But when paired with the cake, the acidic was balanced. 7) Rosemary olive oil loaf with pistachio gelato One of the most tasty pistachio gelato I’ve ever had. Very flavorful with the pistachio. Rosemary flavor again itself is quite over-powering. But when combined with the gelato, it was again overcame and became very delicious. All were executed beautifully. And the combination of flavors was just spot on.

A friend and I went for restaurant week and it was a very nice experience. The wait staff was less than attentive and you really have to catch their eye; my friend got there first and wanted to order a drink, and once I sat down the waiter would have continued rushing past us, until I looked at him very expectantly, and then he would stop.(As other people have noted, there was something unavailable on the menu, I forget what, and the waiter didn’t mention it until we asked something about it. Adalya, please have your waitstaff tell people if something is unavailable when they give them the menus, without waiting until it’s inquired about or ordered.) The draft beer at $ 8 was disappointingly only about a 12 oz, which was kind of irritating. We got the wild mushroom croquettes, which were good, and the soy cured tuna(salmon?) chopped up with corn etc., which was also something different but good. For dinner I liked the Branzino with lentils and spinach very much, and the lentils had so much flavor(though also probably a lot of salt). My friend liked the duck. The portions were not large, but a good size to be able to savor and finish your meal and be perfectly satisfied. For dessert we were concerned that the rosemary loaf might be too savory, but the waiter said that it was sweet, and I was really delighted with it, with the scoop of perfectly complementary gelato. It smelled much more like rosemary than it tasted, and was really unique. The flourless chocolate cake was good if that’s what you were looking for, but not nearly as special as the rosemary loaf in my opinion, and the Turkish ice cream with it may have bit a bit strong for our preference. The prices are not cheap if it’s not a special like restaurant week, but I would like to go back and try some of the more reasonable plates that weren’t part of the prix fixe menu. Romantic but also chic enough to not be on a date, to have a classy, great meal.

Adalya is one of my favorite restaurants/bars to hang out when I am in the city. It’s a neat place with welcoming and warm atmosphere. We were a party of five last time we went there, the staff was professional and helpful. They have great food and wide variety of wine selection. I ordered hanger steak and it was perfect. Definitely recommend it!

Passed by here a couple weeks ago on my way to an event. I was tempted to try one of the ciders they have as their selection is pretty extensive, but I opted to go with my usual favorite, an Old Fashioned. Tommy the bartender was on point, stirring up my drink in a flash, I was soon sipping on a well balanced cocktail that packed a little extra punch thanks to the orange bitters and club soda.

I was here recently with my girlfriend, just exploring Gramercy. Must say, this place stands to what it offers, and that is Mediterranean plates. We ordered the grilled octopus, Turkish manti, Brussels sprouts, the meatballs, along with a glass of the Greek wine. Everything came fairly quickly, to our delight. Despite the high volume crowd for that night, our service was still great. Servers were very knowledgable about the menu, and were actually very generous. Would definitely return here.

I went here to grab a quick bite as well as some wine yesterday 12−21−15. Food was excellent! There were only two of us. We were thinking about getting the large plate servings, I’m sure they are pretty good, but we ended up getting 5 appetizers(small plates) and it was a better choice. We got the following: BRUSSELSSPROUTS, SCALLOPS, BLACKMISSIONFIG, OCTOPUS, MEATBALLS. Out of all the small plates that we ordered though, the main favorite is the OCTOPUS and Turkish wine. It was so undeniably delicious!!! Service was great as well. They were really attentive and they recommended good stuff for us to get such as wine and all that. Overall, will definitely go back again, maybe for a date and or a group thing with friends.

I was excited about going to Adalya but ended up with a less than exciting experience. I saw an instagram pic of the grilled octopus so i was all like«oh saa-weet that looks bombdiggity, i gotta go there and order it»… I went, I ordered it, along with a host of other appetizers and main dishes… octopus never came :(We even asked if it was on the way! but then we never heard back from the waiter… 3 people in my party also ordered the Shrimp/Prawns salad which smelled and tasted like stanky old shrumps! There were other things I could nit-pick but overall, sketchy service, suspect shrimp, no grilled octopus :(there just was not anything about the place/food/service that made me be like«heck yeah! I’m gonna recommend this place to people!»

These other reviews have to be a scam. Service was terrible, waiters were uneduated about what menu offered, shrimp was fishy and not edible, they had items on the menu not available, no specials, took forever to order, the hostess didnt provide enough menus, food came out all at different times. Hot mess.

Squeezed between Dear Irving and Pierre Loti, Adalya is a tiny Mediterranean bar that is a great alternative if either of the aforementioned places has too long a wait. Saturday at 11pm it was surprisingly not too crowded. My friend and I were able to sit at the bar. Bartenders are very friendly and the drinks menu is interesting — I ordered some sort of nectar cocktail that was delicious. Interesting décor and vibe.

I went to Adalya with a group of 6 friends(not the easiest ones) on a Friday 8pm with a GILT voucher! My expectations were very low. Voucher-low(smaller portions, voucher-table attitude, crappy wine). Adalya surpassed my expectations and delighted our palate with an exquisite dinner. On my arrival I was greeted by a very friendly hostess. We were sat immediately even before the whole party had arrived(really? does that even exist in NYC? Hallelujah!). Our server had the perfect amount of Turkish, NewYorker and Williamsburger. Fun business, chilled energy. The wine was very yummy, never had a Turkish Merlot before. The arugula /figues flatbread was amazing. The chef did just a spectacular job. Not your classic fluorescent caviar, floating on a mattress of something something organic and tiny, but rather a perfectly cooked copious filet of hake and a «à point» medium-rare seared hanger steak. The pace of this place was fast, hip, vibrant and FULLY under control and even the manager came over and threw a couple of jokes. I will be back and definitely recommend Adalya!

So I thought we were going to Dear Irving but ended up here… because that’s what my receipt said, haha. I enjoyed my drinks. I got the sangria and the boozy oozy, the latter of which had a really distinct chandy-like taste and I might not order it again… We also split the meatballs and the braised lamb flatbread. Bill came out to about $ 50 per person including tax and tip(those $ 14 cocktails can add up) but I guess that’s New York living for you… docking off a star because service was a bit off. Our server seemed annoyed when we were asking her for recommendations…

Came here with my girlfriend and brother on a Tuesday night for the first time and wasn’t disappointed. The calamari was delicious and the burger for an entrée was honestly one of the best that I’ve ever had. Well done!

Came in on a weeknight, intrigued by the $ 1 oyster special, and promptly ordered eight of them, also the $ 10 beer-and-flatbread special. Some fried calamari and a nice salad did us just right. For a pricy neighborhood, it wasn’t as expensive as we thought it would be, and we enjoyed everything we ate. The waiter impressed us with his memory skills, by not writing anything down. It was all good, and we didn’t find it especially noisy, like some Unilocalers have said. We’d be happy to go back, and bring friends.

A friend and I had drinks upstairs at Dear Irving(what an amazing spot) and found ourselves in the mood for Mediterranean food. So we decided to check out Adalya. Biggest mistake not checking Unilocal first. We’re sitting, looking over the menus and are ready to order — the first 2 things we want — the cava and fluke — both are unavailable. That’s fine — wish someone had said that when we sat down, but anyway, fine. We order the lamb flatbread, the Brussels sprouts and the mussels. It’s 9 pm and I haven’t had dinner yet and we’re pretty hungry. The flatbread comes out first — it was more like burnt lamb on top of a cracker, but we eat it. The Brussels taste like any Brussels you could make at home — that’s fine, we eat it. The mussels… Oh the mussels… Taste super fishy so we very politely let the server know that we aren’t fond of them — server says he’ll have them replaced — we say no that’s alright — waiter still brings back another order that are nicely plated but taste exactly the same — so one again, we let the server know — he proceeds to make excuses saying they are fresh and 4 other tables have ordered them and not complained. I try to keep my calm — he argues for about 5 more minutes before he says fine I’ll take them off the bill and takes the mussels away. SERIOUSLY!!! Definitely one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in the city. Don’t make excuses for your food! Don’t speak to your customers that way! Just fix it!

Came here with a large party. Service was top notch: very quick and nice. Servers were clearly well trained. Everyone was excited about their orders, and the results did not disappoint in the slightest. The biggest hits were the flat breads(tuna and lamb), the stuffed muscles, and the short ribs. It was one of those, «you got to try this» kind of meals: lots of sharing and then oooing and ahhing over the tastes. As far as ambience it was cozy and comfortable. It can serve as a date spot, but also could be good just friends spot too. It straddles that line nicely. The art was tastefully selected as well. When the bill came i felt like it was a very good deal for a high quality experience. Will be coming back, and looking forward to it.
