Went here to continue getting drunk. Was fine by me. Would recommend if you want alcohol.

Over heated un tasteful service. If don’t like your job working with people or serving them, work in IT… Beers were good(they came from the keg so at least someone was doing there job). I constantly had to reach out to my waiter for drinks and the place wasn’t even full. Why do I pay for service. I could go home with a pack a beers and just have a better time. Make me want to go out and spend money in your establishment… please

It was near my hotel and i stopped by for dinner. It had a pretty good selection of beers. I ordered the pulled pork, mac’n’cheese sliders. The pulled pork was pretty good. The Mac’n’Cheese were very bland. The sliders could have benefited from more sauce from the pulled pork.

We came to House of Brews on a whim Friday afternoon, looking for something new. It’s a small bar, with about 15 seats and all of which were taken up. Luckily, there were some highboys and booths in the back. The atmosphere of the entire place seemed very cozy. We were greeted in a timely manner by our waitress(I forgot to get her name!) and got our drinks promptly. House of Brews had a great selection of beers, varying from fruity ciders to your regular run of the mill Bud Light. The food wasn’t bad as well, there were many(typical grub for a bar) appetizers and a cute selection of burgers. I must say, as a pescetarian, this was the BEST veggie burger that I’ve had, hands down! I’d return just for the burger… and maybe the beer.

My buddy lives in Hell’s Kitchen so this is kind of close for beer. They have a lot of taps but it’s pretty basic. NY is going through a craft beer Renaissance right now and the line up is something you’d find at a higher end Applebee’s, a little disappointing for a place that sells itself as a craft beer bar. However, I will say that the service here is pretty good. Our bartender-we were on the 2nd floor was pretty friendly in that jaded NYC bartender way. She was pretty tired of the music playing-which confused us as well, it was like if there were two DJs, one for a laid back bar where you can talk to friends and one was a DJ at a Vegas nightclub on New Year’s Eve. It’ll do the trick if you’re in the area.

Only eaten here once and the food is decent enough. My friend and I both got burgers and beers. The drink selection is great though!!! Definitely come in off the street and grab some drinks especially on a cold winter day!

Good prices, decent beer selection, and convenient location with lots of tvs to watch football makes it a decent option in the Times Square area. The staff was unfortunately disinterested and inattentive despite a sparse crowd. Ordered the margherita pizza which was described to have plum tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. After waiting about 20 minutes ours came with bagged cheese, diced tomatoes, and a short curly hair. Yep hair but no basil. We brought this to the attention of our server and she said ill take your word for it or something similar. No Im sorry, no Ill take it off the bill. She did bring back a new pizza that looked remarkably like the 1st one(sans hair) in less than 3 minutes. We cashed out and went up the street. Could have handled a bad situation so much better and we’d still be there.

This is a sweet spot. It seemed like a locals spot more than anything. It was small, but comfortable and welcoming. My husband and I stopped in for a drink and appetizer. We ordered Buffalo Chicken Dip which was delicious, a «shot of Patron(very gracious with the pour, and a beer. There was one waitress, she was pretty attentive, as was the hostess. If you want a cozy spot amid Hell’s Kitchen, this will do the trick.

Great service, our waitress/bartender was very pleasant and accommodating, obviously the beers are good if you know what you like, plenty of selection. For a Monday night(we went in to watch the Skins-Cowboys game) it was really quiet until later in the evening when some post-conference/work folks came in for shots/adult beverages. Have darts in the back which was wide open until around 10 at night. If I’m back in that area with friends or hunting down a drink I’ll definitely go back. Some good specials too(I think $ 5 special drafts, shots, etc — late happy hour as they call it).

House of Brews NY Manhattan Hells Kitchen Wednesday 2nd December 2015 Four Stars We came to this Irish sports bar to watch the Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony. The place is small with a low ceiling but it felt cozy. The long bar doesn’t leave too much room for standing around. I had 3 Markers Mark($ 11 Each). They were a decent size pour. The bartenders had accents and were friendly and playful which was a nice change of pace.

So I’m a huge hard cider fan and I was very impressed with their selections here. They have at least 5 different ones on a regular basis and also a few seasonal ciders. We came here to grab a drink while we were waiting for our table at Ippudo. I really like the Kopparberg Pear Cider. It has a very clean and crisp taste to it

This is a nice place to come after work to hang out and grab a drink with friends. The drinks were reasonably priced and our bartender was very friendly. My friend and I were entertained by the very interesting selection of music videos playing on the TV behind the bar.

After one round of drinks when we asked to check out, our bartender asked, «Going to Ippudo for dinner?» Our answer, «Yes, how do you know?!» Apparently this happens a lot. As another plus, our bartender let us choose 90s alt/rock videos we wanted to watch at the bar!

One of my favorite beer bars in the nation. Three blocks from our hotel. Friendly service. Yummy Mac ‘n’ Cheese. Seasonal Cider. We ate here twice while we were visiting NYC.

Getting Sloshed One Country at a Time The House of Brews is a great location to host a birthday or just a friendly get together with friends and coworkers. You will find your standard bar foods such as sliders, wings, nachos and burgers. All are pretty well prepared, but you aren’t coming here for the food. You are here for the larger than life listing of beers, wine and hard liquor. It is one of the few bars in the city that serve one of my favorite beers Kronenbourg(made in Alsace, France which is located near the French/German border). For all my other beer decisions I typically close my eyes and point to a random beer. If my finger lands on Utopia, I retry since I don’t feel like paying over $ 100 for a beer. There service is solid and friendly, but the bartender who handled the bar a few months ago during my last visit was truly impressive. Capable of taking multiple orders, pouring/mixing many drinks at once and remembering where they all go during the lunch rush. Meanwhile he was trying to find out where my online order disappeared to. Also remembers his regulars and their typical orders(just like any good bartender should). If you tend to order food online like me don’t use for House of Brews. For some reason my order didn’t go through. The manager and I tried to figure out the issue and we deduced that it originated from . Despite not being at fault the manager made certain my order came out of the kitchen post haste. I recommend showing up in person and placing the order, calling or using another site. Overall: 3.75 Stars Look no further if you are looking to wet your whistle after a long day of work, whether you are alone or with a group of friends and colleagues.

Down in a cellar(almost) no phone signal but they can give you a wifi password. The place needs a bit of an airing but it is fine if you just need a place to his edit the sunlight and have drinks with friends or a sunlight challenged date :) Otherwise, nothing to make this stand out to be honest.

My friends and I have been going on a trivia«world» tour as we try to find the best trivia spot in NYC. Lately we’ve been frequenting various NYC Trivia League locations. The House of Brews sports the typical league format(five rounds, one of them a picture round), although they temporarily are not having an audio round as they try to fix the issue. The question master, Alex T., did a very good job efficiently going through the questions and checking everyone’s scores — the tightly-run trivia ship ran Tuesday night from roughly 7:15pm-9pm. The only issue is that the bar may not be able to have an audio round for the foreseeable future. The start time is notable, as the place ties with Social Bar as having the league’s earliest start time(which is also a key selling point for the two places). There’s a healthy amount of competition(16 teams). The first-place prize was the second-biggest I’ve seen in the city($ 75 off your bar tab). Second place was $ 25 off, and third place got a free round of drinks. The burger/fries were standard, but on my second trip I enjoyed the turkey burger. Both times the waitress was very attentive. The first time I went there was a slight service hiccup with my friend’s burger order, but it was properly addressed(she admitted there was an issue with the system, apologized, offered a free drink, fast-tracked the order, and then soon returned with it). There’s a happy hour until 7pm(which includes $ 5 Bud Lights), and drink specials throughout the night. The biggest strengths were the earlier start time, efficiently run trivia, and number of competing teams, but everything else(prizes and the establishment itself) were average. Social Bar has a good amount in common(league trivia spot, location, start time), but I enjoyed the food more there.

As a spoiled, beer loving, San Diegan, I was underwhelmed by House of Brews. It did not live up to their name. The tap list is pretty short, maybe 15 tops. The bottle list is slightly longer but unimpressive. They had local choices on tap as well as a few non locals I went with the Brooklyn Brewery summer ale. It was good! The place is dark and slightly below street level, not bad but again just average, normal. There’s nothing special here but there’s nothing particularly bad either.

I made a mistake coming here! Not in a bad way. Problem is, I overstayed my welcome and had a wee bit too much to drink. A stones throw away from the hotel we were staying at, and surveying many restaurants up-and-down the street, the House of Brews was where we settled in for lunch. The place is inviting with seating outside after you walk down a few steps. We chose to eat inside. As we walked through the door from the outside patio, the bar was to the left, with tables along the right and in the back. The lighting comfortably dim, with plenty of lighting along the back of the bar, which was complete with a large flat-screened TV. A new tap handle and keg had just arrived for Brooklyn Brown Ale. I ordered one and it was a full-bodied flavorful beer. In asking about their entire selection, they boast 20 different craft beers on tap, with 80 different styles representing over 27 microbreweries in bottles. Our bartender was Pat. We got into an interesting conversation since he attended The College of NJ, not to far from our home. Asking Pat what he would recommend from the menu, he described the vegetable pizza as one of the most popular items on the menu. We ordered the pizza, which was delicious and plentiful. Where I left the path to a decent lunch and a wonderful night was when I started in with Goose Island Sofie Farmhouse Ale. It’s a wine barrel-aged beer with a slight orange taste. It was delicious. While it is only 6.5% ABV, I had 6, count them, 6 in a an hour and a half. Buzzed didn’t quite describe it. Arlene paid the tab, pushed me out the door, and hailed a cab to deliver me to the hotel which was only a block away. Am I going to House of Brews again? Hell, yea! Will I drink more than a few Sophie’s? Nooooo. House of Brews is a winner. You should give it a try the next time you visit Hell’s Kitchen.
