This place is amazing. Considering its locations, the drink prices are good(10 – 12 dollars for a cocktail). The management here takes their craft seriously. The drinks on the menu are designed by the house and are not your ordinary cocktails. My absolute favorite is the Yellow Rose. It is your traditional citrusy, bright beverage, but the twist is their homemade rosemary syrup. The herbal quality makes the darn thing delicious. I consider the pours generous. Upstairs is cozy and has couches and chairs. However, I have never dined upstairs because I want to hang out with the bartenders. Everyone there is a character and a treat to chat with! The food is great too. I had the chicken and biscuits. Chicken was juicy, biscuit was soft and buttery. Lovely. Also: Pickle back. This place makes its own pickles, so the juice form the pickle back is AMAZING. Yum. So happy I found this place.

I LOVETHISPLACE!!! Mashia, the manager, Nicole, the chef, and everyone there are totally AWESOME!!! Everything from the food to the wine are great! I work at MarkJoseph Steakhouse nearby and recommend The Hideaway Seaport for a great time after a great steak at our restaurant. A HUGE plus is the upstairs seating!!!

Great Steak & Eggs for breakfast. Love the place and quiet atmosphere. Liz is great, and the outdoor seating is great. French Toast melts in your mouth! The kids really liked the food as well and the upstairs area is cozy and comfortable.

Not the cheapest place around but not terrible expensive either. It’s fairly small but I’ve never seen it completely packed. The bartenders are extremely friendly and quick. Beer selection was great and varied even though they don’t have a ton of taps. I’ve only tried the truffle fries which I really liked. I saw a burger which was huge and looked amazing. We had a private party for my girlfriend’s birthday here and while I was a little worried because there was no bar upstairs they took care of us and everything went perfectly. They have a Brazilian band on Fridays which is entertaining and seems to really engage people.

What a great atmosphere. We stayed at the South Street Seaport and stopped by this gem. We had an amazing night! The food was so so good! We had the truffle fries and we became hooked! The bartender Dave was a gentleman and super friendly. I highly recommend this place. We liked it so much we went there for lunch the next day before we headed home. We can’t wait to go back! They also have a brand new upstairs lounge with a great view.

Living in Seaport, there are many, many great bars to choose from. On a suggestion from a friend I tried The Hideaway last weekend and I was not disappointed! We came in early to watch some EPL and were pleasantly surprised at how flexible the staff were regarding sticking on soccer. The bartender kept us entertained while we sipped the day away, happily working our way through their large beer and cocktail menu. We all ordered the Lobster Roll and found it both delicious and filling, I’ll definitely be visiting here again!

About 1 – 2 months ago I would have given The Hideaway — Seaport 5 stars. But with some recent changes, one of my fav spots in the seaport has lost its appeal. I have lived in the Fidi for years. Meades(the bar that was in this location before Hurricane Sandy) was one of my fav happy hour and brunch spots. They had great happy hour specials and awesome oyster specials to go along with it. It had an open atmosphere and was always very welcoming. I was beyond excited when the Hideaway opened after Sandy wiped Meades off the map because I could start enjoying my fav local spot again! The hideaway was simple, friendly, and eager to please their patrons. Now, things have changed. The bartenders are different(not as fun/welcoming) and their small bar menu got rid of their best item(the chicken biscuit sandwich) and replaced it with many slightly pricier items that don’t exactly fit the seaport environment. Another side note… I was having dinner with my fiancée last night and I tried to order their new chicken sandwich. Instead, the bartender brought over an order of wings. I am an easy going guy so I said it wasn’t an issue and ate them anyways(they weren’t very good… very dry and overcooked). I was expecting a free beer or something else along those lines to compensate me for the screw up but the bartender didn’t even apologize. I had over $ 150 dinner tab, a screwed up order, and not even an apology or a buyback? …I am just disappointed. The only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is because it is still in a cool spot with and open atmosphere. Food Menu/Staffing needs to be readdressed…

I was surprised to see that there wasn’t a Unilocal page for The Hideaway in Seaport. When my friends and I whipped out our phones to check in we were taken aback! This is probably the first time that I’ve been at an established NYC bar and couldn’t check in on Unilocal– weirddddd. They’ve got a location in TriBeCa but I know that the Seaport location has been around for a while as well. I came in last night for a friends surprise birthday party. The upstairs space was very accommodating for a private party of about 20– plenty of seating and private waitress service. They set up the room with balloons and it was all decked out when we arrived. The food was tasty, and we all shared a few platters of wings and assorted tacos(chicken, beef, pork). The tacos came with an avocado ranch dipping sauce that was perfection. I wanted to give The Hideaway 4 stars… but there were just a few things holding me back. First off, it’s WAY way overpriced for what it is. House well drinks are 11 dollars– I mean, c’mon people, for a well gin and soda, really? They’ve got a happy hour with 5 dollar beers and 8 dollar glasses of wine, and in my eyes house drinks should be included in that price point. It’s hard to justify going here when all drinks at Fresh Salt(directly around the corner) are 4 dollars on happy hour until 8:00. The service was also a little wonky. Yes, there was one bartender for like 20 of us and that can be rough, kudos to the bartender for handling that. I was just a little thrown off when I ordered a birthday drink for my friend and instead of bringing up a birthday drink she just took the drink that my friend was currently sipping on off her bill. Kind of defeats the purpose of actually sending someone up a birthday drink. Overall, this is a solid pick if you are looking for a secluded space to hold a private party or event. I just doubt that I would return for a happy hour at the Seaport over Fresh Salt.
