Sub par vegan treats. I ordered a breakfast wrap and really expected it to be cooked fresh in the case but it was pre made. I also ordered a shot of wheatgrass and was disappointed that the works [ cayenne pepper, ginger and a slice of orange] werent included with the shot. And when i asked for the ginger she told me a dollar extra and i said its not a lot of ginger you would be adding to a 1 oz wheatgrass shot and she goes its cause its organic. ARe you effin kidding me … i have brought several pieces of organic ginger for less than a dollar. I will never come back here. The prices are expensive and the service was sub-par.

Tiny spot for amazing smoothies and takeout of organic, vegan options. My fave smoothie is the jolly green giant which makes kale taste like a healthy desert drink, and a couple berry smoothies. The soups, home made mini buffet items are always interesting and delicious, and they also have a mini salad bar with delish heathy options. When I have been extremely hungry lunchtime or after a long run, this is where I have come for Food that’s healthy and tastes great. They have a shelf of organic bars, kale chips and other organic snack options. The owner is very present, involved and passionate about his businesses. They also deliver which is great. It is very small with only a few small tables and a couple window stools… Not making it conducive to be social here. Usually when I’ve come here it’s been alone to grab a bite or to pick up, or Ive had smoothies delivered. Still, I’m usually able to have a seat if I choose. On a couple occasions when I’ve come here with a friend during the busy school lunch hour(nearby schools make this and other local businesses very busy during peak lunch hours) and there were not any tables available. Only negative is they have earlier hours; there have been many times I’ve wanted a smoothie at night but they were closed. Definitely recommend for smoothies and vegan/organic takeout.

Everything is fresh and homemade! Great vegan spot! Owner is nice and personable! My favorite is there organic tofu taco served with homemade salsa that is soooo good. If you have never tried Brazil nut milk in your coffee, you are missing out! Try it!

Great little shop if you are in the area! They have a hot and cold bar for unique salad combos at lunch time. They also have lots of sandwiches, wraps, etc. What I love most is their gluten free selection. Not often you can find muffins, bagels, and sandwiches. Their smoothies/shakes are also very good. They take phone-ahead orders, which really saves time. I call from the bus in the morning and they have it ready by the time I get there. The staff are super friendly! The Green Bean and Beanocchios are both owned by the same person, so if you definitely want gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options, Green Bean is your spot. Otherwise, Beanocchio is a bit more traditional and just as good! They also have more seating available.

Good spot for made to order juices and smoothies and delish raw desserts but the menu is pretty hit or miss. There are real duds — like the pre-made ‘organic egg burrito wraps’ served with Old El Paso Salsa(I saw their huge Costco sized jug on the counter… WTF??) and sandwiches are nothing impressive. However they do serve some decent baked goods — including surprisingly tasty vegan muffins. The gluten-free muffins are mostly made with garbanzo flour, which has(IMO) a beany aftertaste and should be avoided if you have a delicate stomach.

Been coming here for a few years now. It’s healthy but at same time tastes good. All the soups are freshly made every day. And it’s perfect for smoothies and organic juices. This is where I do my cleanse every year. If you are upper east side def stop in and give it a try.

I came to this place few times. This is a cozy place. I often order to take out.. I had a salad containing greens, tomato, avocado. They were fresh. I liked their hummus with rich chick pea flavor and good texture. The quinoa dishes were pretty good. I also had split pea soup with some chunks of vegetable. It was OK but I didn’t like ginger flavor. I tasted something like ginger in the soup. The vegan muffins must be healthy but a little heavy. I tried few of them. Regardless some taste that I didn’t enjoy, I am sure they are all healthy. The staffs are friendly and kind to answer all of the questions.

This place is definitely in my work lunch rotation. It can get a bit pricey but so far I feel everything I’ve tried was well worth it. You can’t go wrong with the Portobello Mushroom Burger. It is so savory and filling; you may have some trouble finishing the whole thing. I also enjoy the Tofu Club. It has very simple components but it is an extremely satisfying sandwich. The Inner Balance Plate didn’t wow me but I’m just not much into plates with a rice base. I have not yet tried the hot/cold lunch bar but usually I see a number of people ordering from it. I have had several of their juices and smoothies and all have been delicious. They seem to have revamped their juice/smoothie list recently; the Detox Flush smoothie from the new list was great. I usually stay away from the pre-made sandwiches and plates in the fridge case; I just have a feeling that the made-to-order items are better. I’m sure that I will try more items on their menu in time and I’m glad to have this healthy option on the UES.

I am so disappointed with this place and will never order from here again. They charged us $ 25 for 2 omelets and a gluten free bagel. The omelets were the size of my hand and in no way worth the amount of money they charge you for. We also asked for the gluten free bagel instead of the toast, and got charged an additional $ 4 for the smallest bagel known to man with barely any cream cheese on it. Yes they charged us an extra $ 2 for basically nothing. I posted a picture so you can all see for yourselves how small the bagel was and how little cream cheese they put on it. We called to express our unhappiness as soon as we got our food and the only thing the waitstaff had to say was«we were not Overcharged and we got what we ordered.» Awful customer service and not a way to retain or help get back a customer at all. I will be sure to let all my friends know to stay far away from this over-priced place.

I did not have a bad experience with service on my visit as opposed to many of the other reviewers. The transaction was quick. The prices are a bit above average I’d say. I opted for the falafel on pita, which I was surprised when it was pre-made and in the fridge section. The sandwich itself was tasty though. I think I would go back if the prices were a bit cheaper. There are other options in the area that are better for cheaper.

So it has vegan food… but with so many vegan options in New York, I was very disappointed. I got the raw falafel and tiramisu and have definitely had better of both. Also, I was a little put off by the servers, who implies that they didn’t like the food cause they weren’t vegan. Not terrible, but definitely disappointing. FYI: Very small and not a lot of seating. Good for take out.

I like the place for their brown-egg organic wraps(even though egg color means nothing). I’m not vegan myself, so if I want baked goods, I’ll saunter up the block to Beanocchio, the sister store to Green Bean. Others seem to like the joint, and there are not many options around for organic, vegetarian fare. Green Bean seems to be it. TIP: re those wraps: I like them mostly b/c they are pre-made and ready to go, as opposed to Beanocchio, where you have to wait a bit for an egg«taco».

A cute little place to eat! They have organic everything. Fresh, local ingredients and packed with flavor! I met up with two friends and one of them is a Vegan so I wanted her to have her options. It was a bit small for my taste… not too much seating. It’s café-esque touch gives it a unique feel. I ended up getting a Grilled Eggplant and vegetable panini which was yummy! My friend had a spicy tofu salad which looked pretty good(not the biggest fan of tofu so I didn’t taste it.) The funny thing about our food is that the guy who cooked it came out of nowhere. I think he came running from next door… or somewhere!(carrying our food, we still don’t know where the kitchen is!) but it was funny. And dessert! WOW. Their Pumpkin Muffin was out. of. this. world. It was my favorite part of the meal. ANDDD! My other friend had the quinoa cake(never had that in dessert before) and that was fantastic too. I would say their talent is in the desserts!

Like other people have said, this is not a great«sit down and chat» sort of place. It is REALLY small but luckily we were the only ones there at the time so we were able to sit and enjoy our food. We got the Cattle Ranch burritos. They’re vegan with spicy chipotle seitan and black beans and rice and a few other things and they are AMAZING. I recommend getting something that they have to make fresh because if you get a sandwich they might just pull one from the fridge pre-made and no one wants that. Great place to grab a quick meal and hit the road. Get one(or two) of those burritos!!!
