Stopped here after a ferry ride to grab some good brew. Selection is great and it always changes which is cool. Full food menu wasn’t yet available but we did get to order some pretzels with cheese sauce which were yummy, especially after having a few drinks. Only negative was that it was a cold night and since it’s located right inside the terminal it didn’t seem to have a separate heating system and it was COLD. Also, i wish it was a little nicer inside, the décor was kind of blah. Take out beers are a dream for any ferry rider heading back to staten! Bar servers were super knowledgable and friendly which was a nice touch. Overall a great addition, and I hope it lasts.

Loving the brass tap come almost every other day being a Staten islander that never wants to go home. They have a great selection of beers. 60 on tap at any given time. a new brewery of the month with some beer ranging from $ 4 to $ 12 ranging from4.4% a/v to 12%. omg they just opened a Togo section in the back of the terminal too. my favorite part is the brew crew membership because I can track which beers I’ve tried already and they have specials as well as a brew crew member… BUY1GETONEITCHES

A bar back in the South Ferry Terminal, What could be better than that!!! A Good Bar! and this is one. Large beer menu and a Friendly & Competent bar staff that knows how to Mix a cocktail. All they need is a clock so I wouldn’t miss my boat.

The now closest bar to my office, I’ve been here a number of times with co-workers for an after work beer. Wide selection of good beers, not necessarily as great as some dedicated beer bars, but there are some AWESOME deals to be had. Not as cheap as Shorty’s $ 4 happy hour, but if you want a good beer without breaking the bank and still be able to move, this is your place to be. Bar pie pizzas are meh, but the pretzels with dipping sauces are pretty delicious and a rather generous serving for the price — great for sharing. I’m still slowly working my way through the menu, so I can’t comment on the rest. Over all, a great place to grab a beer for a good price, but do pay attention to the menu. Just because they serve $ 4 craft pints doesn’t mean they don’t also serve $ 116oz pours to, for your more exotic selections. To-go beers for your ferry ride as well!

Was excited to give this place a try when I saw it in Whitehall. After a day of shopping I decided to stop by for a drink and a snack until the next ferry arrived. Upon sitting at the bar, I waited for about 10 minutes before someone acknowledged my existence. There were only 2 staff members at the bar, so I get it-no biggie. So I finally received a menu, and ordered an Uptown Mojito and chips & salsa. A young lady(who never introduced herself) brought over my Mojito sans mint leaves. I asked«where are the mint leaves?» She answers saying they’re «out of mint leaves; we’re out of a lot of stuff here.» Uh ok, then don’t sell Mojitos if you don’t have mint leaves. So whatever, I take the Mojito and attempted to drink it… It was terrible. After I get someone’s attention to take away the Mojito sans mint leaves, the gentleman(who’s name I don’t know because he never introduced himself) told me that they did in fact have mint leaves and he’ll fix my drink for me. Although I remained my decorum I was extremely annoyed because as a paying customer I expect more. I work in the hospitality industry, and this was below par service. If you’re going to tell someone you’re out of something, let you colleagues know so that you don’t look like a d-bag. Also, stop over sharing with the customers. It’s not my business that you’re out of a lot of stuff, it’s not my business that you were given drink recipes and trying your best. Are you not a real bartender? At the end I did not drink the Mojito with 2 mint leaves and only ate the chips(which were really good… the chips). Poor service and would never spend my money here.

New pub/bar type restaurant inside Staten Island ferry terminal. Visited for lunch in group of 6. Not crowded so no wait to sit, which was great. I really liked the setup and décor of the place. Since its new they are pending full kitchen and have a partial food menu with plenty of options. We got personal pizzas with pretzel crusts and some cheeseburger on flatbread. Drinks we got collectively was some different beers which were all good. Will have to try the cocktails next time. No complaints, Def worth the visit. Ps– service was awesome! Everyone who helped us were knowledgable of the menu and very nice.

Welp, it’s time to Unilocal… I’ve been commuting between Manhattan and Staten Island a long time. And have been to all the bars and restaurants in both the Whitehall and St. George terminals many times.(Most of which are all the same owner) aside from the chain places. But all are rather dingy and skelly to be honest. Including riverdock bar & grill on the Staten Island side. So coming to the brass tap I was expecting the worst. Let’s start with the obvious. The beer list is great. There’s local awesomeness like flagship and other great craft beer from all over. As well as the usual beers you’d find anywhere. There’s a small selection of liquor but it’s all top shelf. I went with«Staten island victory Blvd pale ale» and a glenlevitt 12year. Needless to say. Those were great. The service is pretty good. There was two very nice people behind the bar. They did a great job. I ordered the prime rib sandwich. On a scale of 1 – 10 I’d give it a 4. It was served on standard hero bread with a horse radish & cream cheese schmear with Gouda cheese. It was ok. The thing is with prime rib you don’t need a lot of other flavor influence. In my opinion the horseradish overpowered the meat. It came with a run of the mill side salad and a dipping sauce that competed with the horseradish. There’s a lot of tourists that come through the terminal so expect tourist prices. So I think it shows promise. Even though the owners are not new to this and should have gotten it right from the start I’ll definitely be back. On the plus side I asked for my last beer in a to go cup and they gave it to me lol. UPDATE: Stopped in again for a couple drinks and a snack. Once again the service was great. Seems like they have the right people behind the bar. A place like this with so many craft beers you need bar tenders that know this kind of product and the people working here are very knowledgable on all the beers offered. I had three pints of flagship and two glasses of glenlevitt. All good. I also ordered the cheeseburger flatbread. It was interesting a tastey. I gotta say I’ve been enjoying having a place like this along my commute route. I definitely recommend stopping in. Nice job brass tap! EDIT: So after a few months coming here after they opened in December I’m happy to say they’re still great. The service has been consistently great. The beers and drinks are all good. The food is quick bar bites but does the job. Brass Tap proved to be a great place to stop in. I definitely recommend it if you’re passing through the ferry terminal.
