The Beer Garden

So I just want to set the expectation here… This isn’t a restaurant or anything like that. It’s basically like hanging out in uncle’s backyard and having lunch. They have a few beers on tap and two small flattops to cook food on. It’s pretty good beer garden food, but nothing that you couldn’t do yourself if you found a recipe online.
Thankfully I the people I went there with were a great bunch and really made it a great time… If it were just ms I could see myself not enjoying it, so I’d recommend stopping here with some friends to help you forget how low brow it is lol.

I wish i could give this place a zero! I ordered 2 hotdogs when it was not busy at all! Well the women said I don’t need a receipt because I paid in cash. She said come up to the grill and pick it up in 5 minutes. I did, and then waited 15 minutes for this place to get there sh*t together, the grill cook accused me of not buying two hotdogs because he didn’t have a slip for it. Then he could not even count out 2 hotdogs. He made one and then 5 minutes into grilling it said «oh I only made one» I was seriously disappointed and annoyed with there horrible service. This happened to about 5 other people, just in the time I was there (25 minutes) – avoid this place. Especially when the short women with brown hair and the Mexican cook is working!!!

This place doesn’t recycle. I asked. I won’t go again. It disgusts me to throw bottles and cans in the regular garbage and there is no excuse!

Casual patio dining with affordable beer and hot dogs. I recommend coming here after a trip to the Statue of Liberty. However beware of the skinny barmaid. After an exhausting day for us and our children, I was not in the mood for a stern faced person watching us like a hawk and reprimanding us for anything from having a granola bar «outside food» at our table to our toddler sitting on the table. It’s a casual setting people.

After spending the morning at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, we were thirsty and hungry. We found The Beer Garden after a quick search on Unilocal.It is a no frills kind of place, but if you are looking for a nice place to grab a snack and enjoy some cold beer, then you’re in luck.
They have a nice selection of Victory on draft, which is one of our favorite breweries. We ended up ordering a pitcher because it was priced so reasonably. We also ordered a brat and a pretzel. I would skip the pretzel next time, but the brat was fine. Like I said, this a very simple kind of place.
I have a couple of complaints – first, the bartender was pretty rude when I asked her if there was a place I could plug my phone in after seeing tons of open outlets. Second, the restroom had no toliet paper in any of the stalls, not a single square left, and even after I informed the staff, an hour later, there still wasn’t any toilet paper. Aside from those two small things, we had a great time at The Beer Garden.

Small, simple beer garden, sort of hidden behind the Ferry Terminal. No waiter service, prices are pretty good. Limited menu for both food and alcohol, no liquor sold at the bar.
Good place to go for after work drinks if you work in FiDi. I wouldn’t come out of my way to come here but I would definitely come back on a nice summer night for a glass of wine and to escape the crowds/​prices on Stone St!

Great selection and beer prices. Nice setting with bushes tall enough to block the breeze and some of the less desirable things you want to see down here. 5 buck drafts of 4 victory taps and 7 for some great bottles. Will be back

Don’t go to Battery Gardens outdoor café and pay $ 10 for a domestic draft when you can go around back and discover THE BEERGARDEN with five dollar pints and a friendly cheap backyard grill.

Lovely place, nice prices and a fantastic location near Battery Park and the Staten Island Ferry. Drank wine and ate a really good pretzel. This is a place were you can relax and enjoy the moment.

~Food selection is more like snack foods: chips, hot dogs, and burgers…

I’m mixed on what to give this place. Is it in a pretty cool location, yes. Is it nice to have a real (uncovered) open air beer garden in nyc, yes. Are the prices reasonable for a beer, hell yes. So, what’s lacking…
One, if you’re out of the taps you’re advertising on your chalk board, ERASE THEM! Or, put a sign up that you’re out, instead of just pointing to the taps and saying, «this is all we have». Ok, so you have the one I just asked for since the tap is there, but you won’t serve it to me, or am I missing something here?..
Anyway, besides Victory brewing not being the most amazing craft beer brewery, I figured i’d try one of their beers I didn’t want. I tossed my beer halfway.
I can not attest to the food, but it’s a small/​simple menu, so how bad could it be. I unfortunately wouldn’t go out of my way to go here, but if in the area and want to enjoy the weather and a beer, go for it.

Be warned: I had a couple beers and asked for a cup of tap water. I was told that they don’t have tap water because they don’t have a tap! I was welcome to buy a bottled water for $ 3. I wonder, is this the only bar in the city without a faucet?

Their beer was horrible. We tried the summer love and told the lady at the counter we didn’t like it and asked if we could switch out to try another one and she said no. Its overpriced and not worth the money. We also had the chicken kabob and tomato mozz panini and not worth the money… go somewhere else if you want to enjoy your beer and food. Ambiance is the only thing good

I thought this was a really great spot to grab a drink or two while wandering around or before or after doing something in lower Manhattan. We actually stopped here on two different occasions. The food offerings were basic but smelled good and this was a really relaxing place to grab a beer and just chill and recalibrate. The vegetation makes it seem somewhat private, too. A lovely little beer garden. The bartender looked disinterested and bored, however. She could have been friendlier.

I really liked this place. Adults stop here and grab a brew after going to the statute of liberty and Ellis Island. Beer was great and only $ 5, which I found very inexpensive for New York City.

Definitely good enough for a quick drink and a snack! Cheap and fair!

Good! A pleasant place to get a beer as a bratwurst before catching the Staten Island Ferry. Good food, good beer selection, good price. Great location and outdoor tables!

Warm expensive beer. Blegh! And they did a great job in blocking off any small breeze that my make that outdoors oven bearable.

Draft by Victory Brewing, seasonal and some bottles along with a couple wine choices. A hand full of grill items round out this little, outdoor venue with large, shared tables to spend with friends new and old.
There’s a better plate almost anywhere near here but if you’re here brother, might as well sit down and relax. Take in the sun and talk with a stranger. What the hell, you’re already here.

Small but fairly affordable food selection (hotdogs, brats, burgers, portobello burgers, pretzels). Great for day drinking outside on a nice day.
