Here’s the lowdown with Tacombi. The style of this place is cute, fun and feels very festive. I’m not the biggest fan of stools, because I enjoy back support. All of the tables in this place have stools. It’s an open kitchen, so you can see the people working on your food and that’s always nice. The service is very attentive and friendly. But it should be, because that’s really what you’re paying for. The food is OK. There are so many taco places in this area that they really need to stand out to make you want to come back. Most of our food was pretty dry and overcooked. The guac was pretty good though. It’s a bummer, but I don’t see this place lasting too long unless they make some amazing changes to their food and how it’s cooked. I’ve seen this location as a few different places. This area is hard on restaurants. Good luck, Tacombi. * If you’re reading this to look for a good taco place to eat there’s a good one on West 4th, around the corner and another one on Greenwich Ave. that’s great too.

All glitter, no quality. The place is pretty, unfortunately it all ends there. The sangria tasted like bitter grape juice, Only two beers to choose from. The fish tacos were drowned in their mayo sauce. I did not care for the short rib taco at all, the pork belly was ok. There are defiantly many better option available with better quality and more of a selection.

Really liked this place. Great selection of tasty tacos. Not heavy like a lot of Mexican food. Casual and relatively inexpensive too, for NYC. Highly recommended.

Stopped in at Tacombi mostly as we noticed the evening before how crowded the seemed. Glad we did too! We sat down near the open kitchen area and were greeted rather fast by our waitress. The menu is easy and you check off items you want on the menu for the wait staff to collect. The food comes fast and we started with the ceviche made with fluke and guc at the bottom. Our waitress was helpful in that she suggested we try the ceviche as guc can be just guc sometimes. So her suggestion turned out correct as it was good. We tried the cactus tacos which were tasty and the chicken and meat tacos, just as flavorful. The sangria was decent, had better, had worse. Would eat here again without thinking twice.

I don’t understand the 3.5 star ratings. I rarely eat anywhere with less than 4 stars. Lovely atmosphere, fresh-as-heck guac, and fish tacos slash anything fried was so tasty.

I didn’t get any of the drinks, but the guacamole and the tacos were fantastic! We got the brisket special and it was TODIEFOR so good!

Despite some of these scathing reviews, I thought it was just fine. I stumbled upon this place when wandering to check out a new spot for din. I know my guacamoles pretty well. This Guacamole is five stars without question. The fish taco was by far my favorite. All others I ordered were chicken and can’t complain. The Victoria beer was a nice compliment. The ambience is cute-Candlelit, small tables, cozy. The service was great here — attentive, fast, friendly. Prices are fair and like anywhere else in NYC, add $ 20+ to your bill if your a table of two and order anything with alcohol. Overall, I left content so I’d recommend trying if the above is what you’re in the mood for.

The portions are tiny there is nothing special about the tacos. The flavor are so underwhelming and the prices are just enough to not make you want to go there again. The service is fine and the location is pretty nice.

This 70-seat location on a prime corner really, really underwhelmed, with décor and friendly staff far better than the food. The panucho de lechon was so weak, and even if it were great, the quantity makes it one of the worst values in Mexican food.

I visited cancun in 1999, I didn’t really like it. That was the last time I had Mexican street food, this was about 103% better than I remember. The Nachos with corn esquitos was delicious, I’m not sure I’ve ever had the cheese in that mix but whatever it is I want more. Tried a selection of the taco’s — turkey and chicken coming out ahead, vegetarian being great too… not so keen on the fish but that’s my selection fail. Cool little place on bleeker st, and given the location this is a cheap place to eat. Better than cancun.

Fun spot! Delicious tacos, decent beer. A bit pricey. Go for the special tacos of the day. Always full of interesting ingredients and mixtures, but always fantastic. Major downside: the stools have no backs. My back hurt the entire meal. Luckily the food was tasty enough that I was able to focus on flavor instead of the pain.

Wow, just wow, how is this place even open? Came here after work, so awfully disappointed. «Sangria» bad wine slash of club soda. horrible, watery, grape juice. $ 9 ew. «Guacamole» — bag of avocados dropped on the floor, really small portion. Literally nothing else in the Guacamole, just crushed avocados, no peppers, onions, Cilantro, NOTHING. Extra chunky, like a quarter of an avocado jist sitting there. Chips were extra salty.$ 12 Ceviche– uh idk lime juice and some kind of white Fish few veggies. Very small portion and by the time this got to the table our expectations were already low so I guess it was the highlight of the evening. But that’s not saying much. $ 15. Didn’t even bother ordering anything else asked for the check right away, we were in and out in 20 min. $ 50 for two apps and Two drinks. Had two sips of the drinks, and finished the food because we couldn’t justify spending 50 dollars and not getting anything out of it. No one came and checked on us, or asked why we didn’t drink our drinks. Went to another restaurant immediately after to actually eat. Pretty bad Especially since there is a cart on Christopher st that is so much better and a fraction of the price. Hell the food in carts in queens serve up better food than here. So so sad

Still hungry from brunch and drinking hot chocolate. My date called me to look at this tacos place. This place caught my interest because it was open, can walk through the side without going through a door. The place is low key(red and white checkered metal tables) and looked inviting. We only wanted to eat a little bit since it was around 4pm and we wanted to make sure we had room for dinner. We ordered the cochinita de merida and the carne asada de tizimin tacos with Bohemia beer. Cochinita was suckling pig marinated in orange and achiote roasted in banana leaf. Carne Asada was marinated char grilled local red Angus flap steak. Two sauces on the table. Red one was too spicy for me and green one wasn’t doing it for me. Mixing them together was good but the tacos had flavor and we didn’t use the sauce that much. Both tacos were good. The tortillas were made well and tasted good. We liked that it was one tortilla per taco instead of two. Carne asada was diced into small pieces and topped with chopped onions and cilantro. Steak could have used less cooking time and flavors were good. Suckling pig looked like pulled pork and topped with pickled red cabbage. Tasty and juicy but could not taste the banana leaf. Service was so so, my date’s chair was kicked by the staff as they passed by. We were seated between the bar and the hostesses/hostesses booth. There was little room to move around. The tables were very close to one another.

Great experience! The food was outstanding. We got the guacamole, rice and beans, corn, the two special tacos and a fish taco! Loved it all. Amazing(not too sweet) sangria. Would definitely come back! One critique was they ran out of ceviche. Other than that loved it!

Location — great. Food — not bad. Ambiance — Nice. Price — ridiculous for what you’re getting. I uploaded a photo of my food. I ordered the cheapest tacos on the menu which were $ 3.95. They were smaller than the size of my palm and only one tortilla each. Needless to say I was starving and refused to spend more money in this joint. After tax and tip I paid over 15 bucks.

Went in here for lunch. For the price to value ratio, I would give this place 3.5 stars. I ordered 3 tacos(the carne asada, and they had a special that day of barbacoa) and my friend got the vegetarian taco as well as a speciality drink. The food was pretty good. I thought all of my tacos tasted good and my friend could not stop raving about her drink. They also serve beer and sangria here. You write in your choices on a paper menu. The waitress was friendly and service was quick. That being said, the portions are TINY. Lunch came out to $ 16 per person between us and I only had 3 tiny tacos. Each taco was literally 3 bites max. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but you should come in knowing what you will be getting for your money. This price would be more reflective of a pricey, more dimly lit, fancier place in midtown, where they also serve you a heap of rice and beans as sides. In contrast, this place has an open, casual layout with small tables and uncomfortable stools Also, I think they had way too much staff(seemed like a 1 – 1 ratio per customer) — perhaps this can reduce their overhead so they can lower pricing on the menu.

The first thing I must say about tacombi on bleeker is the service is excellent. Our waitress Katherin provided some great recommendations and topped it off with really friendly and attentive service. The tacos were fantastic. We had the chicken, cactus, and grilled fish. All were really good, but the fish tacos were our favorite. Be sure to top it off with the tacombi hot sauce for this location. It’s SO good that I could drink it with a straw(I didn’t because that would be weird). I also like the way you order your meal. Think meatball shop, but with pencil and paper. Oh and the prices are very reasonable. The only thing keeping me from giving a 5 star review is the guacamole and the corn. The guac was boring and the corn was overcooked. I did like the guac once I threw some of that hot sauce on top though. Just fix those two dishes and you have a winner!

I was in the neighborhood with friends trying to see a comedy show, and we stumbled on Tacomobi. The open-air atmosphere was perfect for the warm(ish) afternoon. Luckily, we were seated at a table around the exterior of the restaurant, perfect for people watching. We ordered the chips and guac(~$ 12, but a huge portion) to start. It came out incredibly fast– maybe around 30 seconds after we ordered it! It was a standard, no-frills guac that filled us up as we chose which tacos to order. The tacos are small yet delicious. I ordered the crispy fish and carne asada tacos. The crispy fish had a thick batter, and the fish inside was flaky, delicious, and moist. The carne asada taco was definitely my favorite– the meat had a nice char but was still juicy! Tacombi is still working out a few kinks(didn’t have a full liquor license, didn’t have to-go boxes yet), but the overall atmosphere and quality of food was great! So glad we gave this spot a try.

We were walking down Bleeker when we saw this place and thought that’d be a great spot for a drink! We stopped into Murray’s cheese across the street first and when we came out there was a line outside! They were opening in ten minutes so we decided to wait and while in line the crowd kept talking about how good the fish tacos are. On my way in I said«this feels like an opening night» and sure enough, it was! The place is well sized and has a very open, casual feel. There’s a juice bar and an open kitchen to watch the magic happen. They don’t have a full bar but the beers and sangria are pretty delicious. On to the food… we stopped in for a drink but had to try the fish tacos and are so glad we did. Whether fried or seared, you can’t go wrong. Both were incredibly well done and the Mexican beer to wash it down made it even better. Price isn’t bad considering it’s NY. $ 4.50 a taco but the service, food and drinks are totally worth it! We’ll definitely be back!!!
