yum! my boyfriend just brought home 3 giant cookies: lemon ginger, PB Choc Chip, and Oatmeal raison. All were tasty but the Oatmeal Raison is where it’s at. Come here if you have a hankering for delicious baked treats.

You want sweeties served up with a huge smile. I’ve never lived in the South but I imagine people there smiling while consuming too many calories. I think the crust has lard but I am a strict«don’t ask, don’t tell» pescatarian. It’s so good(Pecan Pie) that I WILLNOTASK. And if you know, please DON’T TELL me. They have cookies and pies like bean pies and pecan and pumpkin pies and all sorts of goodies. They have BIGSMILES. This is one of those little gems of uptown where the treats are real, served with pleasure at about ½ the price you’ll of what you’d pay below 96th Street. Enjoy. And let’s all say, «butter!»

The pecan pie stole the show at thanksgiving!!! I came in picked up a pie on thanksgiving morning to bring to dinner– yes they were open thanksgiving morning… The pecan pie was amazing! Solid crust HUGE fresh pecans and just sweet enough not too Gooey but just good on the inside. Ps– i also ordered the personal size sweet potatoe pie(don’t judge lol) and it was pretty good. I would definitely get the regular size.

Stay away! Delivery took forever and nothing i ordered was even edible. Banana pudding tasted like it came from a box(I’m sure it did) The bread pudding was tasteless and had a horrible texture and the cookies… they would have been better off using nestle tollhouse cookie dough… another disappointment in harlem that shows us that just about anyone can open up a restaurant or bakery.

I ordered a lemon cookie, a pecan and cranberry cookie and a piece of the cherry cobbler. The cookies were not good, the cobbler was downright disgusting. Their delivery also leaves much to be desired. For $ 5 I expected much better service.

I ordered for delivery about 2 days ago. Ordered the Chocolate Pecan Pie and a Mixed Berry Cheescake, but they didn’t have any cheesecake so I got a Mixed Berry Pie. Both were REALLYGOOD. I demolished the Mixed Berry Pie. I’m not even a fan of nuts and I ordered that Pecan Pie. It’s delicious. Delivery guy was so nice too.

Agree 100% with last reviewer. This place is awesome. The sweet potato pie is amazing. But is this store still open? It was papered up yesterday?

First I want to say it was a great experience. I had trouble finding it at first the gps made me go in circles repeatedly but after the 3rd time I finally found it lol. The woman who was working today greeted me with a smile and was very pleasant. I came for the bean pie which is very hard to find in Long Island. My dad enjoyed the pie very much so. I forgot to add that she gave me a complementary cookie and it was delicious. I would definitely go back

Cheesecake($ 3/slice) is incredibly fluffy and a good size. However, it’s a bit too sweet and lacks a graham cracker crust.

This small little hidden store sells pies and cookies — I’ve only had pies so far. The sweet potatoe pie is delicious, it is moist and has just the right amount of sweetness. The key lime pie really tastes of lime, which I like a lot! But may be not sweet enough for others.

Yum, Yum, Yum! I have visited this bakery every single week for months now — this review is long overdue. I have yet to try a dessert I haven’t liked! Their cookies are huge and always soft, even when I come in an hour before closing. My personal fave is their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, but with funky flavors like peanut butter banana no cookie will disappoint. Today, in fact, the chef had just finished baking a batch and I was able to take a fresh, gooey one home. Their pies and cobblers are equally delicious and so cheap. Another plus, you can actually read(and understand) the ingredients of all the bakery items, there is nothing artificial about these sweet delights! It’s a small shop so you can’t stay and eat, but you’ll want to stay and talk to their staff. They are always friendly and patience — which is hard to do with me as I can never decide on just what treat I am craving for the day. The bakery is located a building down from a bar and nothing is better than booze and sweets. Enjoy!

Picked up 2 pies at a Street fair over the weekend. Sweet Potato and Pecan. Both of them were very good. The Sweet Potato pie just melts in your mouth and taste just right, the pecan is not to sweet but sweet enough, lol. I will definitely be visiting the location soon. My daughter loved there lemon coconut cookies.

Pecan pie was super good! Spices were completely on point. We also bought a few cookies and a sweet potato pie. This place is actually amazing. Usually I find the spices and salt to be lacking but everything was seasoned really well and tasted incredible. I highly recommend! Staff is also super nice

So far i have to give it 5 stars. It’s a hidden little place. I only found it because I was going to Hogshead Tavern which is right next door. So, I saw this place which looked like a nice little bakery and stopped in. They don’t have a huge assortment of different pastries. It seemed to be just cookies and pies, but they do have a good selection of those things. We got 4 cookie for $ 5. We got a german, chocolate, a peanut butter chocolate chip, a lemon coconut, and a coconut chocolate chip. Jackie was one of the chef’s that came out to help us make our selections. He was super nice and the cookies were awesome. I have not known of any other bakeries and wouldn’t have known of this one without stumbling upon it. We will be back for sure. Glad to know about this hidden treasure!

Some of the best pies we’ve tasted in NYC. All at Christmas and New Years dinners gave thumbs up. A few even went by to take home for themselves. As for some of the bad reviews, we think they’re just not from the south.

I have been buying the sweet potato pie from Fairway for a few years. They were slightly above mediocre but it was the only game in town for a moderately priced homemade-like sweet potato pie. I noticed Fairway did not have them this Thanksgiving. When I searched the internet, I was shocked to find there was the actual bakery not far away. It is a bit out of the way but I went and bought 3 pies for $ 30. 1 lg sweet potato, 1 medium coconut crème, and 1 small key lime. AWFUL!!! Extremely disappointed because I knew I was not going to chance them being closed to return it. The bad reviews are consistent with my experience. Coconut crème, dry mostly coconut and undone crust. The key lime was so sour I instinctively spit it out! The sweet potato was bland, not done and only redeemable/edible after I put it in the oven. I was thinking of bringing them for a dinner I was invited to. So glad I decided to test for the next invitation. I would have been embarrassed. I saw a young man leaving with an order of 10 large pies. All I could think later was that I hope their pies didn’t taste like mine. He/they need to sample the pies. They can’t think that they taste good. There is no way. I threw the two pies in the photo away.

Just came in after dinner in the area to get dessert. I witnessed the person working behind the counter accuse the woman ordering cookies of stealing money. He then yelled at her and was very rude. As much as I wanted their sweets, I will not be coming back here again.

Not many choices… several types of cookies and 2 or 3 different kinds of pie. We tried a few cookies and they were just okay. Seemed like they were a few days old. They actually had TONS of pecan pie in 3 different sizes! I figured if a place has this many pecan pies, it must be a signature item and it must be good. Wrong! I bought a large pie on a Saturday and brought it to a family dinner on Sunday. I took one bite of my slice and thew it out. I could tell it was going to be bad as soon as I removed my watery slice and saw all the oil in the bottom of the pan. The filling was gritty and oily and I thought perhaps it wasn’t fully cooked. Check out my picture. Not very appetizing, right? Maybe it was just a bad pie. The other pics of the pecan pies actually look pretty good.

I’m actually surprised Sweet Chef has so few reviews on Unilocal.I accidentally discovered their baked goods at a street fair at South Street Seaport and was amazed by the variety of cookies & pies sold. There were lemon ginger, german chocolate, oatmeal chocolate, coconut, etc etc and each for only $ 1!(the pies were around $ 7 for a small/$ 13 large). I purchased and inhaled a german chocolate and chocolate & vanilla chip chocolate cookie.

Plus: The goods are delicious Minus: You will never know when this place is open. Never. There seems to be no logic. No pattern.
