I love this place and come here all the time for already almost 3 years :) they are open till 10−30pm which was why I came here at first place once. Many other sushi places in the area are closed by that time. Staff is very friendly and nice. I love New York roll and would recommend it to everyone) that’s the right place if you don’t want to pay a lot but still be satisfied :)

I come to this place all the time for great sushi. And the prices are actually pretty reasonable. The service is usually very fast and always nice. The place is always very clean. I’ve never had a bad mean here. I usually have a lot to say but this time I’m pretty speechless. Straight up great place for cheap sushi in Chelsea.

I LOVE this place! It has the best fish by far at this price point. The maki rolls and creative and fabulous and we also love the Don dishes, which are like omelettes with chicken inside over rice. This is a restaurant that deserves to stay in business!

I came because of the reviews. I am disappointed. I got one of the takeaway sushi boxes. It’s clear that this box has been sitting around at least for a day. The rice was stale, hard. The miso soup was lacking, it tastes like bland water with some spring onion. And I paid 11.92 for this, hardly a deal.

If you’re looking for cheap, but good sushi, Sushi 21 is great for that! It’s not the best sushi I’ve ever had but it’s definitely good for the price. Three rolls and miso soup or a salad for under $ 13?! Not bad at all my friends, and the delivery is pretty fast too!

Awesome cheap rolls during lunch special but their delivery services are certainly sub-par! I would rather go to their location myself and eat there to ensure that I get my delicious fatty rolls! Btw these are certainly not 4 star rolls, they can sometimes be greasy but who are we kidding? At less than 11 bucks for three rolls what do you expect!!!

Solid sushi and very reasonable lunch specials. Food does not excite but is certainly competently prepared. Atmosphere is sterile, matched by a somewhat cold, robotic staff. All in all a good option though for a quick«sushi fix,» more suited to take out than dine in. Feel like I got my ten dollars’ worth.

Stumbled upon it for a lunch special. Large portions and friendly staff. More of a take out location; however, they do have seating.

Went here for a quick sushi fix and was not disappointed. Shared two regular rolls and one special roll(all without rice for additional fee) for $ 20. You get what you pay for, but good in a pinch.

All I look at in this place is their food because the place is more like a cafeteria rather than a restaurant. Is like the fast food restaurant system, you ordered and then you go to pick up the food. The food is pretty decent and the price is pretty good in my opinion because is manhattan after all. My friend told me that one of the women staffs there treated her very rude but that never happened to me because every time when i go there there is a man staff that always serviced me(lucky me) so be aware of the women staffs there. The place can get very crowded at lunch hour and dinner time so if you come with your friends one of you should get a table first and the rest go online to order the food. The largest table can fit only 4 people so dont come with a big group if possible. I would definitely go back go back if Im tight on budget but need something filling to eat.

Dropped in on a lark and rolled out very happy with 3 rolls, one special, under $ 20! They were tasty and fast and I would eat there too seeing how clean it was. So happy that this spot is just around the corner from home.

Fair is fair here! What’s nice about this place is that it’s not a restaurant with waiter service that expects tip. And besides, most sushi bars around NYC are a bit pricey, but with $ 10 here you can get a decent meal. The lunch deals have a nice price and portion with 2-classic roll, 3-classic roll deal, and bento box. The quality is not bad and it was a little better than okay(in that bit good area). Katsu chicken bento box did not disappoint me. The salad was refreshing, the gyoza and california was a bit small(I’m kind of a big dude), katsu chicken was delicious. Overall a nice meal to eat. Gotta get the 3-roll deal for lunch next time!

We went in late and the girl behind the counter was a bit rude but we ordered anyway. They were really strict about student discounts so that option was out of the question for us. No discount on chef special rolls and you must use cash to get the discount. After getting a little ticked at that I ordered the Ocean Roll and sat down to wait for it. You would have thought they left the building to catch the fish fresh, it took a pretty long time to make, and I was hungry. I took it home and started eating. Once I took my first bite I was like«yeah this might be an everyday thing now» it was SO good. Delicious. The ocean roll didn’t come with enough I felt like just because I was really hungry so next time ill order double or get another smaller roll. Overall I am impressed and will be going back!

Extreme late day 5pm lunch, hunger pangs strike hard where I claim my native Asian cuisine. Sushi 21 sits on 21st Street /7th Avenue in Chelsea where sushi galore inhabits as well as Bento Box. My all-time favorite Bento Box has been skimmed as it does not contain shrimp, only Gyoza, white rice of my chicken Tonkatsu at $ 6.95. Fresh and plentiful for lunch, nevertheless I inhaled the whole thing for seating is ample. Service is efficient but rather stolid of a hostile environment to customers. Seating is clean in a brightly lit atmosphere. Japanese magazines and newspapers inhabit the shelves.

I recently ‘got into’ sushi back in March so take this as you will. I had a Shrimp Tempura Roll and a NY Roll. Combining the decent service, reasonable(for the area) pricing and the NY Roll, I’d have given Sushi 213 stars. I’m detracting a star, however for the not-so-great presentation of the Shrimp Tempura. If I’m eating Shrimp Tempura by the piece I won’t mind biting the shrimp off the tail, but I’m thinking a roll would go better without the tail. I shouldn’t have to deconstruct a roll to eat it. Overall, I’d go back; the place is clean if a bit cramped and with the crowd I’d say they have regulars so they must be doing something right, but the Shrimp Tempura isn’t it.

It’s pretty good. For quick sushi it is good, but personally if New York had a Wegmans I would pick that over Sushi 21. They don’t have some of the staple types of sushi that most places offer which was a turn off for me. Overall though friendly service and they do a good job making the sushi they provide.

I ordered delivery from them through Seamless Web last night and I was rather impressed. The food arrived within 25 minutes and the portions were decent sized for the price. My girlfriend ordered the 2 roll special($ 7.95) and I ordered the 3 roll special($ 10.95) and they both came with either a soup or salad. The miso soup and salad with ginger dressing were the standard affair. My girlfriend got a sweet potato roll and a salmon avocado roll. I got a spicy tuna roll, spicy hamachi roll and a tono dream roll. All the rolls were good, but not outstanding. The fish was very fresh and I was expecting all the rolls to have six pieces each, but the spicy tuna, tono dream and salmon avocado rolls had eight pieces each. We were very satisfied. Considering the price, this place maybe one of the best deals for takeout or delivery. I will definitely order from them again.

As a take out place for sushi, this was only a hair above made-for-supermarket sushi, in terms of its quality, but its service was very good. Having made a hefty order for myself because the food looked good in the pictures, I was hoping for a splashy affair. It came out looking rather plastic, but I enjoyed it anyway. Getting through the salad with the typical ginger dressing was highlighted by me spilling the miso soup all over myself. Wearing it was not what I had in mind, but the counter people came out immediately to help and they replaced the soup and salad without a thought. That was their moment to shine and they did well for me. I will go back and try their wares again. A note about the«B» grade: don’t let it scare you off. It appears to me that the NYC Health Dept is nailing Japanese restaurants harder than others and liberally handing out B’s. I doubt the standards of all of the places hit with a B in the Chelsea area were that bad.

I always stay in Hilton’s Hampton Inn in Chelsea, and this one actually opened in February this year. I never really try it out, as it looks like a Hong Kong version of Sushi take out place. It is very unassuming and very small. There are a few tables and bar counter space inside, but boy it is really economical. By New York standard, you could have Banto Box from 7 bucks. Of course this is not gourmet food, but it open after 10 pm. If you worked all day and no energy to look for anything else, this is a reliable food source. They also have sashimi platter, the deluxe one is only less than $ 15, and is fresh, the menu has udon and rice, and rolls. I give it 4 stars is for the ok food quality, but mostly it is cheap and convenient.
