Don’t get scared by its creepy environment! This place is worth everything to come! Location: I think this place is at the other side of Chinatown — the less busy side. I did not know if they have a clear english name at the front door. I visited there because I knew chinese. Originally, I was just in a sense of reminiscing hand-pulled noodles and this place came up out of nowhere. So right, I definitely gonna be here. Food: I felt like most people here are regulars. To me, I already had a smoothie in the morning, so I reined my choice only to appetizers — porn bun would be a great choice. And I am also glad that i did. The pork bun is made from scratch — the bun is traditional bun which is soft and shroud with some sweet inside. The pork is fresh, tendered and flavored. The best part would be the added peanut butter. The pork bun is very much savory and sweet. Service: no service at all Price: 3 bun for 5.75?! and 3 delicious one?! yes, i am gonna be here whenever i can 4 star!!! chinatown is amazing

This place and lam Zhou are my favorite places to go for 牛肉拉面. I also tried the zha Jiang mian here before which was also good. However the beed noodle soup is the winner. Service was quick and simple, and I would definitely stop by when in the area

Easy to miss place. Even when trying to look for it we walked right by it. It’s the usual small and dingy Chinese restaurant, just a hallway with tables. The ladies were making dumplings on a table nearby. We ordered dumplings, beef noodle soup, and the buns. My favorite were the dumplings, my boyfriend liked the buns. The buns are a thick slice of meat with peanuts and it was good. The noodles were good too but I’ve had better elsewhere. Everything was very affordable!

I got the number 1(only one that comes in a metal bowl). Broth was decent, everything was just ok… I wasn’t blown away w. Their dumplings either, thought they lacked flavor. Personally, I think lam Zhou on e. Broadway is better when it comes to la mien. Check that out, you will not be disappointed.

3.5÷5 — very solid, but nothing extraordinary. Being a California native, I don’t fare well in New York winters. I was freezing while walking here, but it was well worth it and absolutely perfect for the weather. Pros: — I got the beef noodle soup medium spicy and it was warm and hearty, not too rich or oily. I thought it was just the right level of spicy, and I’m not someone who handles spiciness with dignity. The hand-pulled noodle texture is very on point. — There was actually a decent amount of greens in my soup! Cons: — Typical cleanliness for Chinatown restaurants. — A bit difficult to find, since it’s not in the main/Mott area of Chinatown, where I already struggle to navigate to begin with. Tips: — Cash only. — Order, eat, pay up front at the register after.

Stopped in for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised with one of their specials: spicy qi beef soup with the knife cut noodles. $ 6.50 for a big bowl of chewy noodles, beef, and delicious broth. It was really great, even on a hot day. What a deal! Would love to come back some time to try out more of the menu, and to watch the workers shout out orders across this tiny joint to the rest of the kitchen staff.

Strongly recommend the pork buns! It has so many layers of flavors that you just can’t stop enjoying and identifying them like a real gourmet.

This is definitely a hole in the wall kind of place but it’s always these kind of places that make yummy food. We ordered the beef noodle soup, which is the most popular dish, and pork buns. The pork buns were interesting as they had crushed peanuts on them. I’ve never had pork buns with peanuts so it was different but it still tasted good nonetheless. The noodle soup was amazing. It had a lot of cilantro on top which I loved and the hand pulled noodles and the soup broth was also really good. They give you a lot in one serving too. I was full after less than half of my serving. They serve all dishes in plastic plates and the restaurant was pretty small but they serve you really quick so we got a seat really quickly.

the pork buns here are to die for. i think it’s the best pork bao i’ve had and they’re only 3 for 5 or 6 dollars! that alone will make me come back. the food in general is extremely cheap here — 4 dollars can get you a bowl of noodles. i prefer the sesame noodles, but my friends prefer the noodle soup. you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. the place is a little dirty, but the food makes up for it

This is a hole-in-the-wall type noodle place. It’s small restaurant, but I never had to wait for a table the couple of times I have been here. You have to order and pay at the counter. Their kitchen is open and you can even take a look at their kitchen on the way to their restroom, which is located behind the back of their kitchen. Their noodles is good — hand-pulled and good al dente firmness. Their soup is fair and not too oily like some places. The beef is a bit overcooked for my taste. In comparison, the beef is not as good as Tasty Hand-pulled Noodles on Doyers, but it’s a good place to get noodles if you are in the area and have the cravings. They also serve pork belly buns which I haven’t had the chance to try.

Good solid spot that will fill you up on the cheap. Been here a couple times and have always left satisfied. Noodles are hand-pulled in house and all their noodle dishes are very good. My usual go to is the beef noodle soup. Decent amount of beef and a simple, clean broth that works well. Food comes out ultra fast. Their gua bao(although not my favorite in town) are decent too — last time I was there they were 3 for $ 5.95; super reasonable. Thick cut of fatty pork belly that tasted great in the bao. Not a lot of seating inside, but turnover is fast because the food comes out quick. I usually order at the counter, but I’ve seen the staff sometimes come out and take orders too. Also, the place is cash only, and you pay after the meal(not before).

Love love love this hole in the wall. Their menu is sooooo cheap– perfect for any meal! They’ve recently showcased their pork buns and it’s so freaking good. Especially for their price. I can’t get over it. From the noodles to the dumplings, this is a must!!!

This is a total gem hidden in the valley. The Google map pointed us to the other side of the street from the actual place. We finally found the place by identifying the name. The place is super small, so we had to share the table with other people. The restaurant owner recommended the Mount Qi Beef noodle. It was very tasty, with chopped beef, peas, special pickles, and cilantro. It had a little spice as well. It was one of the best noodles I have had in the recent months! Then we ordered 20 pork boiled dumplings for $ 6 in total. The dumplings were also very good. I would definitely return.

Awesome pulled noodles! I know they’ve been around forever but I’ve only tried them recently. Great for cold days or anytime you’re craving a good bowl of hand pulled noodles.

The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall, dingy looking establishment but the soup, noodles and pork buns are good. You can beat the price, you get a big bowl of soup with lots of fresh hand pulled noodles, beef or whatever you are into for under $ 6. I enjoyed the pork belly pork buns, your get 3 for under $ 6, they were both delicious. I recommend trying both. They also sell dumplings either pork or beef, super good and cheap. 10 pieces for like $ 2, It’s so good and cheap that it makes me question what I am actually eating, the food taste good, but how can something so good be so cheap? I will definitely return again to try their other soups and just take a chance lol.

About a 1 – 1.5: Super Taste is known for their handpulled noodles, but they are also supposedly known for having the best pork buns in the city. The hubs and I were super intrigued, so we went to check out Super Taste out! We did a to-go order of the buns, which automatically comes with 3 buns — you have a choice of either pork or beef, and we opted for the pork. Everything is made-to-order, so you may be waiting for a bit, especially if there are other parties dining in. We received the buns and we had it right away at the store, as we didn’t want them to get soggy. Yikes! We were both just not happy with the buns — the pork belly was on the sweeter end and overly fatty. There was some hoison sauce on the top with some crushed peanuts and bits of cilantro — besides the buns coming with an herb that I detested, I was disappointed that it wasn’t taken off even with the request! The bun itself was also just not tasty, as it was already soggy to begin with, and the overall buns themselves were more sweet rather than savory — it reminded me more of a dessert dish rather than an appetizer/snack. I maybe would come back and try out some of their Fujianese noodle dishes, but the pork buns were a no-go! +sweet pork buns T___T +inaccurate order

This place is legitimately a hole in the wall. I found Super Taste via Unilocal, while searching for something spicy, as per usual. This place is very small, there’s a chance you might have to share a table with strangers(the norm in NYC). I’ve tried several of their dishes; house special noodles, beef over rice, pork buns, but my all time favorite is their Mount Qi noodle. I love their Mount Qi, it contains homemade noodles, beef, peas, cilantro and a perfect spiced broth. That’s why keeps me coming back! Yes, this place uses plastic plates, bowls, utensils and water is not given but it’s expected for an establishment like this(Cheap/affordable meal). FYI– DONTMINDTHESCREAMINGWORKERCALLINGOUTORDERS!

Many people don’t really know about this place unless you’re from around the area or the avid Unilocaler that looks for hole-in-the-walls serving up the best hidden foods in the city. I used to live around the area so I know that Eldridge Street has some of the best Fujianese cuisines in New York City. I’ve already been here several times in the past before for Fujianese noodle dishes. I’ve never known what I’ve been missing out on until I noticed that they have their house special fried buns on their menu. My favorite dish here is the spicy beef noodle soup which comes with broth, a few pieces of beef and one stem of bok choy. The result why I came here was for the House Special Fried Pork Buns. The only other place that I know of in the city that has this was in Flushing, Queens so I was absolutely delighted when I found out that they offered this here. The«bun» features a sweet piece of dough, pork belly, garnishing and minced sweet peanuts to top it off. Delish. Would I come back? I’ve already been here several times.

There’s table service, a hustle and bustle to the room, and not even any water for the table. The menu is posted on the wall of this small restaurant; a true hole in the wall establishment. All noodle dishes have a choice of hand pulled noodles or knife cut noodles. The House Special Soup comes in a larger aluminum bowl with beef, beef tendon, tripe, and a fried egg in a decent beef broth. All other noodles come in a plastic disposable bowl with tiny disposable take-out spoons and chopsticks at the table. You need to really slurp to get any soup in your mouth and the lip of the containers help get some of that soup on your shirt. The Mount Qi noodles has a really good tart and moderately spicy complex beef broth topped with some beef and greens. The noodles are cooked perfectly and prices are reasonable; comparable to similar places in the area. This is definitely an eat and go kind of place. It’s one of the better ones for hand pulled noodles in the Manhattan Chinatown even though the ones in Queens have much better broth.

Super Taste NY Manhattan Chinatown 10pm Thursday 30th July 2015 Four Stars It’s only a five minute away on a Citibike from my apartment. Asian places have the absolute worst names but hey it keeps the white devils away so I can’t really complain. They speak Asian to me and I respond in English so you non-Chinese folk will be just fine. I got the spicy beef noodle which comes out in less than 3 minutes. It’s piping hot so be careful. They serve it in a plastic bowl which I am sure will give me cancer in twenty years but whatever future me can deal with that. It is a simple dish of fatty, salty, unctuous broth, hand pulled noodles, braised beef, Chinese spinach, and scallions. I also ordered 10 pork and chive dumplings for 3 dollars. They were delicious after they cooled off. Pour some vinegar and some sriracha and enjoy. I was in and out in 20 minutes. I spent $ 9. I am very full. This place is great especially if you are hungry and alone.
