The line was out the door and down the street, but it was worth it just to see where it all originated. The staff did a great job organizing the crowd

Another Starbucks too try. I just love the iced mocha it’s my favorite coffee drink. They make it consistent at all locations which makes it convienent for me. Place gets pretty busy but has plenty of space. I don’t use wifi so really could care less about people spying on my iPhone. Overall service was fast and friendly and located right by 110 train station.

This Starbucks is great in the morning the crew that’s there at 6:30am is my favorite, after 11am the staff that’s there is just plain rude and nasty

customers who have purchased nothing sleep here as do customers who have brought in their own food. also present the manager«George“when told of this replied ‘Go somewhere else if you don’t like it’ as he continued to make loud noises at 5;30 a.m. throwing boxes on the floor. Word to the Wise Avoid

I know it’s a rainy day but that gives no reason for the lacking expedience in service. I waited over 8 minutes in line with one cashier and two other workers. Instead of working on drinks and getting the line down the other two workers stayed in their own world. They steamed my milk and then brewed my espresso with cleaning in between — only thing was — the other barista working was cleaning too. It is ridiculous that two people were cleaning while there was a line, and that nobody seemed to express any sense of urgency in serving their customers. Not to mention I was not apologized to for my wait time and the cashier and baristas didn’t even make eye contact. Certainly worth the extra walk up to 114th which I will be doing from now on — and my drink definitely was not made correctly after all the struggle. Glad I just threw $ 5 down the drain.

I keep coming back to this location because it’s convenient. Fair warning though, if you are going to work, good luck finding a seat since students dominate the space. I’m a student as well so I may be one of these space dominators from time to time. It’s the only place I could find close to me that has AC to keep me cool in the summer since my place doesn’t have AC and I’m on the 6th floor… Basically this Starbucks probably saved my life. However, I actually applied as a former Starbucks barista, worked here for four months but had to quit due to extreme unprofessionalism amongst the staff. There are a handful of very rude baristas and supervisors who are not kind to customers and it truly disgusted me. I’ve been working in customer service for over a decade and I was appalled at how the staff treated some guests. They have a lot things to work out. They do not make everyone feel welcome.

Customer service horrible!!! They left my drink out on the counter, never announced it. Then when I spoke to the«manager» about it he gave me an attitude as if I was wrong for expecting more from an establishment such as this. I told him I won’t come back any more if I’m a problem.

So I probably should’ve let the world know this sooner, but I am a coffee fanatic. It is definitely an issue, but I need it to survive. I get into that zombie-like state in the mornings that I will eat anyone’s brain if they try talking to be before my first cup. That being said, I love coming to Starbucks(around the globe) but especially this location because it is fairly larger than most found in NYC. It has extensive seating(which probably is meant for the copious amounts of Columbia students that come in), that I take up to do work for my job. It is fairly loud though, which may affect those who need complete silence to complete tasks. The coffee here is, in my opinion, on the better end of quality that I’ve come across in many Starbucks. The employees seem like they want to make your stay here enjoyable and have on many occasions cracked some jokes with me at the counter. I love coming in because I always leave with a smile.

Pretty good! Many times better than the one up at 115th& Bway. Baristas are always nice and helpful and there’s so much study space. Electrical outlets could use some repair though.

Friday, November 21, 2014– 12:50 P.M. i walk in after grabbing some delicious chipotle next door.(i had previously paid at chipotle in cash for a $ 9 meal with a $ 20 bill. they gave me an old $ 10 bill and a single as my change). i used the above change to pay for my grande, nonfat, overpriced dirty chai with the $ 10 that had just been handed to me… the annoying little shit at the register brought the $ 10 bill over to a manager and the two of them stared at this green paper like it was both counterfeit and foreign… fuck them. honestly, a $ 10 bill… i had to get back to work for a meeting but I did ask the two assholes if they so often make such a big stink over such small currency(or only when the customer has a natural tan). needless to say, i am pissed. i will be going back and inquiring further… i do not look suspicious, i am dressed nicely, i had to wait mother fucking 12 minutes for a chai with a shot of espresso and deal with your rude attitude and blank stares from across the counter. oh, hey 111th and broadway, i’ll be back. p. s. my drink was tepid, at best *smooches*

I’m not entirely sure why this Starbucks has such a low rating. They cannot control the large amount of students and faculty from Columbia who come in and they are only slow because there are so many people who come here. When I come here when there isn’t a line, the service time is pretty standard. The baristas and the cashiers are either indifferent or pretty friendly; I’ve never had a hard time with a rude employee. The bathroom is in the back but is usually occupied. Not their fault. They are open until 2AM which is perfect for a student like me and when the other Starbucks down the street is open only until 11PM. The coffee is pretty standard Starbucks coffee aka not amazing but will get you through the day. They do not have Clover at this location and I can’t see why they should because college students probably wouldn’t appreciate it and it would just make service much slower. I’m docking a star because of the long wait and because homeless people come in asking for change, both things the Starbucks can’t really control. ** They are currently re-modeling so they’re closing earlier than usual and the other Starbucks down the street will be opening until 2AM. I wish they would expand into UNI Café now that they closed down for more space and tables.

Pros: Location, location, location. The one baristo, Gilbert, is so chipper. He insists you«make sure it tastes just how you like it» before you leave. They have a screen that displays the song that’s playing. A nice perk if you’re really into that one jazzy Dean Martin song they’re playing. Cons: Location, location, location. It gets so crowded between classes. The bathrooms are a bog. There always seems to be three flies circling your head. It’ll do.

Let me start off by saying I’m not a big fan of Starbucks in the first place, but I’ve been in more than a few throughout the years and the service is generally quite nice. The baristas at this location seemed rude, hollering names out like we were kids in trouble. That said, the service was quick. I’m sure it’s annoying dealing with a steady stream of customers who may not know every rule in the Starbucks play book, but if you hate your job, find one you like.

Good Starbucks spot, and it’s also right next to the downtown train on 110th st. This is one of the lesser busy locations that I have seen in the mornings. Which is a great thing!!! Not a tremendous amount of wait time to where you’re waiting 15 minutes for a drink when you’re in need of a morning boost. Probably gets a lot of traffic from college students because it’s in the Columbia area. There are three separate areas with seating if you want to sit and relax for a bit.

There was no Splenda. The bathroom was out of order. My Americano tasted burnt. This Starbucks needs to try harder.

Meh. It is Starbucks. Service, not so much here. They have too many students/staff as customers. The line is always super line. I have walked by here several times and the line always goes out of the door. The people who took my orders were bored and just wanted to get through everyone quickly. The baristas actually had smiles on their faces and seemed nice. Chances of you finding a table here is almost non-existent. It gets busy fast and students tend to study there with their laptops so don’t hold high expectations. There is another Starbucks that is blocks away in MoHi. Maybe I will try the other one out some time soon. They got my drink right so nothing to complain about. I am pretty sure I will be back.

Quick service. They don’t have an oven… So they can’t make anything that requires an oven. That means no breakfast sandwich + coffee combo in the morning. Otherwise, standard Starbucks service. One thing to note, there’s plenty of study space. I could see myself spending an afternoon studying on one of their long tables.

Two things I learned the hard way: 1) Columbia-Starbucks is always crowded. Think 15 minutes will be enough to grab a coffee and speed off to your next location across the street? Oh. Heck. No. You will inevitably be late to wherever you are going, even if it is a 4 block radius. 2) Seating is tough to find because the Columbia kids camp out here. Literally. They find a spot with an outlet, monopolize the area and stay here for hours. Due to how busy this location gets, the manager doesn’t really regulate the seating, which can be viewed as a plus or minus. Despite it all, the Baristas were pleasant as were the people at the register. The milk and sugar counters are fairly clean considering the heavy traffic you will encounter at this location of Starbucks.

Never reviewed this place until now, you say, Unilocal?I’m surprised! As a former Manhattan Valley resident of yesteryear, this place was my godsend. It was my chai spot. It was my reading area. It’s where I’d go to get away from one of my annoying roommates. SOMANYMEMORIES, I SAY! It’s still one of the city’s better Buckys. Lots of seating in the front and rear, the staff is friendly and ask me how to spell«Allison» correctly for my cup, and yeah… sometimes I just use their bathroom when I’m in a pinch. It’s all love, homie. It’s all love.
